The document discusses scientific discoveries about the deep sea that were described in the Quran over 1400 years ago. It summarizes that the Quran refers to:
1) Internal waves in deep seas that cause darkness below 200-500m.
2) Three barriers that cause successive layers of darkness - clouds above surface waves above internal waves.
3) Marine life in deep seas having light-emitting abilities to see in the darkness.

2. Overview: In 1900, Scandinavian sailors discovered the internal waves, which was later proved by marine sciences. It is now known that there are internal waves at a depth of 200-500m and these top another sea which is completely immersed in darkness. This darkness is caused by the internal waves , the surface waves and the clouds which accumulate over the surface sea. The deep sea is different from the surface sea in density, salinity and marine life. INFO@KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM WWW.KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM
3. Overview: Long before science discovered the internal waves and the deep sea in 1900, the Holy Qur’an referred to the internal waves, the deep sea and the darkness that overwhelms it. It also referred to the reasons for the darkness caused in the deep sea. Moreover, it refers to the marine life which exists in the deep sea and how they use a different method of light granted by God to see. Also, there is a subtle reference to the age of submarines. 4. Scientific Introduction: What are internal waves? The ocean is not homogeneous - sharp changes in density, temperature, and salinity occur which give rise to a series of layers, each of which differs sharply from its neighbours. On the interface where two such layers meet, waves can exist. These are one type of “internal waves”. In most cases of interest they are excited by the interaction between tidal currents and the sea bed structure. http://ceos.cnes.fr:8100/cdrom-00/ceos1/satellit/ers/appion00/focus/index.html Internal waves (marked with arrows) caused by the Strait of Gibraltar INFO@KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM WWW.KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM
5. How is the darkness in the deep sea formed? The internal waves top another sea which is different from the surface sea. The most specific characteristic of this sea is the utter darkness. It is scientifically known that this darkness is caused by three important barriers. These are: The heavy clouds The surface sea waves The internal waves INFO@KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM WWW.KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM
6. How do clouds cause the first darkness? When the sunlight encounters the clouds, about 30% of the light is dispersed. The clouds absorb 19% of the rest of the light, so 49% of the light is cut from the total amount and is consumed in reflection and absorption. Figure 15: Between 3 and 30 percent of the sunlight is reflected at the sea surface. Then almost all of the seven colors of the light spectrum are absorbed one after another in the first 200 meters, except the blue light. (Oceans, Elder and Pernetta, p. 27.) INFO@KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM WWW.KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM
7. How does the surface waves cause the second darkness? The surface sea waves absorb the rest of the sun light. About 35% of the infrared rays is consumed in evaporating the sea water and the process of photosynthesis of marine plants. 5% is reflected on the surface sea waves giving the sea its brightness. So another (40%) out of the (51%) is subtracted. INFO@KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM WWW.KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM
8.
9. At about 50 metres, the orange spectrum is absorbed followed by the yellow one.
10. At a distance of 100 metres the green spectrum is absorbed.
11. At this stage the sea looks blue since the blue spectrum is absorbed a little over 200 metres. This diagram shows the depth that light will penetrate in clear ocean water. Because red light is absorbed strongly, it has the shallowest penetration depth, with blue light having the deepest penetration depth. (Applied Optics, Vol. 20 (177) Smith, R.C. and K.S. Baker. 1981) Also see official NASA website. INFO@KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM WWW.KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM
12. Light spectrums are absorbed gradually in the first 200 metres After the first two hundred metres, the internal waves meet the rest of the light(1%). Because of the minerals, the marine animals that try to enter the surface sea and the hanging particles, most of the rest of the light ( the remaining 1%) is reflected. It is now very dark. Only (00.1% ) penetrates, which is completely absorbed. INFO@KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM WWW.KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM
13. At about 200-500 metres the internal waves appear. These waves which can reach a height of 100 metres are over another sea that is completely different from the surface sea. It is scientifically known as the dark sea because the just .001% of light fades away leaving the sea in fearful darkness. The deep sea differs from the surface sea in salinity, density and even in marine life. red sea internal waves http://www.geog.ucsb.edu/~jeff/wallpaper2/page4.html INFO@KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM WWW.KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM
16. the second is caused by the surface waves along with the surface sea and the third is caused by the internal waves along with the dark sea.INFO@KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM WWW.KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM
17. The Holy Quran on the Internal Waves Allah says in the Holy Qur’an what means: Or (the unbelievers’ state) is like the darkness in a deep sea. It is covered by waves, above which are waves, above which are clouds. Darknesses, one above another. If a man stretches out his hand, he cannot see it. (24:40) INFO@KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM WWW.KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM
18. The Holy verse likens the hearts of the unbelievers to the deep sea which is overwhelmed by darkness. The verse refers to a deep sea which is covered by certain waves (scientifically known as the internal waves or the internal currents). Over these waves are other waves which are the surface waves. These are all topped with clouds, which gather over the deep sea. So the scientific statement in the Holy Quran which was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (SWS) more than 1400 years ago is clear and is compatible with the scientific discoveries of 1903 INFO@KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM WWW.KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM

20. The verse says for any to whom Allah giveth not light, there is no light! (Refers to a certain marine animal that is blessed by with a certain kind of light.)INFO@KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM WWW.KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM
21. Far below the deep sea live different kinds of animals. Because of the pitchdarkness at this depth, Allah has blessed these animals with cells that are distributed on certain parts on their bodies to produce light. Chemicals in these cells react with one another in the presence of a catalyst, and this produces cold light. They use this light in mating, identifying each other and finding their food. The verse is talking about the deep sea which is overwhelmed with darkness. So when God says “…for any to whom Allah giveth not light, there is no light!“ He must be referring to a particular marine life that is blessed with a certain light ( which is bioluminescence) INFO@KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM WWW.KNOWMUHAMMAD.COM
22. This proves that Muhammad (SWS) is a Prophet from Allah How could a man refer to such scientific facts that were only discovered in 1903 unless he was a Prophet and his book is God's word? How could an illiterate man ( Muhammad) living in the desert in a time when scientific knowledge was just superstition, produce such scientific facts unless he was a Prophet and these words were revealed to him by God?
