UPRR receives shipping information from a wide range of entities in a wide range of distinctly different message formats. UPRR required a system that allowed them to receive this shipping information in real-time. They also wanted to provide continuous access to shipping status for UPRR personnel, its customers, its facility managers, and the automotive truckers. As a result, UPRR required a robust, web-based system that could support a wide range of message formats, and provide accurate and timely information.

For decades, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has collected weather-related data and distributed it to flight centers around the globe. The WMSCR system collects, processes, stores, and disseminates aviation weather products to major national airspace systems, airlines, and international and commercial users.
