4. Notes/Domino Feature Packs
• Allow us to speak about continued enhancements and have a simple
nomenclature without costly Version.Release naming ….
• Working with marketing to ensure Feature Pack number will become visible and linked to ND on
www.ibm.com
• Surface more frequent updates – continually
• Will also apply to Sametime
5. What is a Feature Pack?
Our objective is to accelerate the delivery of more features and fixes into the N/D
platform and are changing our approach to gather these components into
quarterly feature packs, using an approach similar to the continuous delivery
model of Windows 10.
Instead of releasing an entirely new and different version of its desktop OS
every few years, Microsoft is taking an Apple-like approach to subsequent
Windows releases, standardizing on Windows 10
Notes/Domino 9.0.1 will be the baseline release and future updates will be
delivered as feature packs on top of 9.0.1. This provides a mechanism for
continuous delivery of improvements and helps with easier deployments for our
customers
There are ”core” technical elements required to support the longevity of Domino
applications and these are of the highest priority in these next Feature Packs
Goal is to deliver these via ”feature packs,” with a target time frame of quarterly
releases

12. Collaboration Today
Challenges
•Time spent in collaboration activities have ballooned by 50% in the last two decades.
•People spend 80% of their workday on meetings, phone calls and emails.
• Harvard Business Review, 2016
Opportunities
•IBM Collaboration Solutions’ portfolio offers choice and fit for all enterprises
•Verse email is designed to keep the most important contacts and projects front and center
•Advanced analytics and cognitive tools help prioritize work so employees can focus on results
13. 13
Work is personal and Enterprise Messaging today
should be about choice. Choice of form factor,
device, security, and access
Security matters. Even with choice &
interoperability, enterprise-grade security is not
compromised with IBM’s offerings
Why IBM, Why Now?
With IBM, value is 2-fold: maximizing present
investments while planning for future IT costs

14. Verse On-premises Overview
• Domino customers can now deploy
Verse On-premises and further leverage
their investment with IBM
• Verse On-premises provides the same rich
experience, Verse users in the cloud are
accustomed to
• Customers deploy Verse On-premises by
installing additional elements for search on
Domino and using Connections functions via API-
based access **
• GA expected December 2016 –
BAU Passport Advantage download
• Intended entitled via active S&S for
Notes/Domino:
• CEO plus Messaging or Enterprise CAL/PVU
• Messaging / Collaboration Express
• All Dual Entitlement (DE) licensing
• Must have active S&S or DE Service !
• Leverage Connections Files & Profiles entitlements with ND
** The Limited Entitlement to Connections Files and
Profiles with all
ND licensing is upgraded to Connections 5.5
15. Additional IBM Verse On-premises
Value
• Verse On-premises offers consistency with Verse On-cloud
• Customers can utilize the best-in-class functionality that Verse cloud offers while leveraging
existing investments with Domino
• What about rich clients like Notes or Outlook:
• Verse offers secure offline access via a browser
• Optionally, no more need to deploying a rich client like Notes or Outlook for email
• Domino client/server applications “live” in Verse via IBM Client Application Access [or IBM Notes]
• Integration and extensibility to match future cloud capabilities (e.g., menu actions within
Compose; extending capabilities within a business card; … )
• Reduce training cost with Verse's simple intuitive UI
• Smooths end-user transition to the IBM Connections Cloud experience
16. • Functional degradation without Connections 5.5 (or later) –
Files/Profiles required (on-premises)
• Domino 9.0.1 at latest FixPack level (assume FP7, target 3q16)
• Mail-files must be at Domino 9.0 level (can be customized as long as
standard fields etc are unmodified). VOP use the iNotes panes

17. Verse On-premises Technical
Details
• Sizing information provided before GA based on Beta experience - even if no new types of licensing will be needed, customer may
still need to grow PVU footprint
• Current experience is that a VOP user is similar to an iNotes user – also no duplication of mail files needed
• Verse On-cloud customization options 4q2016+ – shipping subsequently for Verse On-premises
• Compose message menu actions extensibility
• Extending capabilities within a business card
• Items we will look at after GA:
• Integrating Sametime awareness and chat
• Integrating Verse On-premises with other applications / solutions
• Cognitive capabilities are only considered for Verse On-cloud and currently not planned for On-premises
• Connections 5.5 Files and Profiles are a hard prereq for many “Verse functions” seen in the Cloud:
• ND additional entitlements include limited Connections 5.5
Supported Browsers:
•Google Chrome Current (non-beta)
•Mozilla FireFox ESR, FireFox Current (non-beta)
•Apple Safari 8, 9
•Microsoft Internet Explorer 11
•Microsoft Edge support (in progress, no ETA)
Server Platform – Domino 9.0.1 with latest FixPack
