2. EARLY LIFE
Jennifer Lawrence (born in 1990) is an American
actress. During her childhood, she performed in
school musicals. When she was 14, a talent scout
spotted her in New York. Then she moved to Los
Angeles and began her acting career by playing
guest roles in television shows.
3. CAREER
Her first major role came as a main cast member
on the sitcom The Bill Engvall Show. She had
her breakthrough in the independent drama
Winter's Bone. She achieved wider recognition
for starring as the mutant Mystique in X-Men.
Lawrence's fame continued to grow with her
starring role as Katniss in the Hunger Games
film series (2012–2015), which established her as
the highest-grossing action heroine of all time.

She has received various awards and nominations,
including one Academy Award, one BAFTA Award
and three Golden Globe Awards. Thus she is the
only person born in the 1990s to have won an
acting Oscar.

11. INTERESTING FACTS
Before setting her sights on acting, Lawrence
aspired to become a doctor.
Her nickname at school was "Nitro" because she
was so energetic and full of life.
For Winter's Bone, Lawrence had to learn to fight,
chop wood and skin a squirrel to portray her
character, Ree. She actually killed a squirrel during
the film.
She has two older brothers, Ben and Blaine.
She's a very sporty person. Growing up, she played
basketball, field hockey and softball as a kid.
