Facilitation
Facilitating a meeting or project means thinking through and managing the how, what,
when, who and why: enabling people to do their best thinking and make decisions with
commitment, passion and enthusiasm.
We work with our clients to design and deliver outstanding meetings through a process
that takes all of the people factors into account. We specialize in creative problem‐
solving, idea‐generation sessions and decision‐making, but are experienced in many
areas of group process. We help our clients:
• Define and clarify meeting objectives, tactics and outcomes.
• Design effective agendas
• Integrate the specific people and process issues involved including the context
and issues around change; possible resistances; culture and expectations;
communicating and managing expectations.
• Incorporate interactive and participatory elements, taking into account the
participants' preferred learning and communication styles in a way that
maximizes involvement and results.
GSMS will facilitate the meetings which maximizes the probability of reaching a
successful completion of the project. We create progress reports to track the individual

Successful organizations align their resources with their goals. An effective strategic
plan allows for measurable goals and accountability. To successfully implement strategy
requires a buy‐in throughout your organization. We take a holistic approach by using
the balanced scorecard that is used as a measurement and management tool to assist in
reaching the vision of your organization.
The balance scorecard (BSC) can be used by companies with 5 or 5,000 employees that
are working towards the same goals. The BSC is a strategic management tool that is
currently being used by Fortune 1000 companies. The Harvard Business Review notes
the BSC as one of the most significant management tools in over 75 years. The BSC has
been used in assist in change of organizational culture, improving operational efficiency
and profitability. Financial measures alone are not enough to measure performance.
Factors in the economy such as competence and knowledge, customers focus,
operational efficiency and innovation are missing links from the traditional financial
reporting.
The BSC provides the management team with an important tool to set strategy as well

Dr. Doreen McGunagle is an internationally recognized expert on Leadership. She is an
organizational consultant, facilitator, and speaker with more than 20 years experience
working with Fortune 1000 companies. Dr. McGunagle mentors, advises, and coaches
leaders on key strategy issues that create sustainability organizations. An
accomplished writer and professor: her publications include The Chinese Auto Industry:
Taming the Dragon as well as numerous trade publications. Her educational
background includes both a Ph.D. (Organization and Management with a Specialization
in International Business) and MBA (Management). As an organizational troubleshooter,
Professor McGunagle combines both her educational and professional business
experience in her practical, innovative approach.
A leader in her community, Dr. McGunagle is a graduate of Leadership Palm Beach
County and has been involved in leadership roles with a number of professional and
community organizations. Board Member for Area Agency on Aging: Chair By‐Laws
Committee updated and created revisions that provided clear governance for non‐
profit. Member of Finance Committee, responsible for the stewardship of $11 million
Medicare Waiver funds and $28 million Federal and State Funding that ensures seniors
in five county areas with the ability to age with dignity in a home environment. Member
of the Planning Committee, responsible for the strategic and quality assurance plan for
the service area.
Past Board Member for City of Lake Worth Planning & Zoning and Historic Preservation
Board: Vote on important issues for the City of Lake Worth that would foster a growth
to the area while maintaining the quaint historic characteristics of the downtown.
