Important detail
• The first web page in your website should be
  named ‘index.htm’ or ‘index.html’*
• Thus only the web address itself is needed to
  get started. The server automatically looks for
  a page called ‘index.htm’:
     •   http://teach-ict.com
     •   http://teach-ict.com/whatsnew.htm
     •   http://teach-ict.com/contributors/
     •   http://teach-ict.com/contributors/clare_belshaw.htm

      * Other names used by web servers: default,htm; home.htm
Tasks
• Make a conscious decision about a folder
  location in My Document where you will store
  and edit your web files.
• Complete the Red Fox task – files available on
  Moodle in a Zip file.
Step 1:
• Deconstruct the text file using Notepad: split
  into four separate files containing:
     •   text for title page;
     •   text for page 1;
     •   text for page 2;
     •   text for page 3.
Step 2:
• Construct a basic HTML webpage template
  using Notepad.
• Save page(s) with the file extension HTM or
  HTML. NOTE: do not use spaces in file names
  for web use.
• Add your text elements created in Step 1.
• Iteratively load and reload your text files into a
  browser
Directed Study
            by w/b 27th February
(1) Complete Red Fox exercise. 100% is
    required!
     (a) create separate pages
     (b) link them
(2) Ensure all coursework tasks are completed.
   Write text for each page/coursework
   element as per the assignment brief
Text for portfolio web pages
The home page will provide a list of links to each of the coursework tasks.
Each coursework task will be presented on its own page with the following
elements:
A clear title
Heading: How the resource was constructed:
     How it was made;
     How it is operated;
Heading: Its value for learning and teaching:
     What value could learners get from it?
     What value could a teacher get from it?
Heading: Download file:
     Link to the file for download;
     Describe the download file format (e.g. Zip, Docx);
     Relevant instructions/guidance for the user.

• How will the user get to a particular page?
• How will the user return to the home page?
