Pressure Immediate Mechanism...
Immediate mechanism is also known as
short term mechanism. This type of
regulation works for a few seconds to few
minutes

5. Baroreceptors
In the arch of the aorta and in the carotid sinus at the
junction of the internal and external carotid arteries are
small stretch receptor in the vessel walls that are sensitive
to increases in blood pressure. When pressure rises,
impulses are sent from these receptors through the vagus or
gloss pharyngeal nerve to the midbrain. This results in
further vagus stimulation, which tends to slow the heart.
This is an extremely rapid response, occurring almost with
the first systolic rise of blood pressure. It is a protective,
stabilizing attempt by the body to lower blood pressure by
decreasing the heart rate and cardiac output when blood
pressure is increasing.
