OBF and OBP were updated to the new Open Badges version 2.0 in June 2017. A new feature called multilingual badges was also added to the system.

2. What does it mean?
• Open Badge Factory now creates and issues badges
compliant with the version 2.0 of the Open Badges standard
• Open Badge Passport can receive v.2.0 badges (notice that
the Mozilla Backpack can’t handle 2.0 badges – at least not
yet)
• Multilingual badge is the first new feature implemented on
the new standard
