Edgar Allan Poe Writing Style Analysis
Edgar Allan Poe has been a subject study in many academic researches around the world. His ability
to write short stories tempted academics in different domains to investigate about his writings. He
published more than three hundred and fifty stories, poems, and critical articles (Sova vii).In fact,
Poe has a considerable number of works in the fantasy genre, that attracted this research to make its
subject study concerned with Poe and this genre.
As far as the subject of this thesis is concerned, fantasy, there are some articles, found on an
academic English website, to which this study has been attracted to, that analyze Poe‟s style and
way of writing.
The first article is entitled "Edgar Allan Poe Writing Style Analysis." It mentions

It is this unity of effect that would ultimately lead the reader to live and feel the general mood of
the story that Edgar Allan Poe wanted for his ending. Similarly, in "The Raven," Poe uses "great
imagery to portray a feeling of horror, of grief and of madness, madness brought on by the loss of
a love, Lenore." It is stated that Poe imagery to portray both the setting and the first tone of horror
found in the raven, and to the reader to enter the world of the poet in the story. And the article comes
out with a conclusion that these pieces of work „‟a tragic event in Edgar
Allan Poe's life‟‟ (Poe & Imagery UKessays).
However, the first article speaks about Poe‟s tales as falling into the horror genre, and not giving
more importance to fantasy that contains horror in itself. And for the second article, it speaks about
Poe‟s life as being an inspiration for his writings, yet it does not relate this to his choice of
writing in the fantastic genre and not the realistic.
Last but not least, the third one, although it is mentioned at the beginning that Poe is a fantastic
writer, it does mostly about the unity of effect rather than talking more

My Writing Style Analysis
From the second I was learning to write simple words in kindergarten to the hours spent writing
essays in college I have always strived toward becoming a "good writer". What can make a
successful writer is the proper understanding and usage of rhetoric, knowing your audience, and
engaging in critical analysis. Yet each time I was finally starting to get better at articulating my point
of view or finally mastering the new writing style in my classes, the definition of good writing
changed. Each grade level had a new definition of what good writing entailed and each time I had
something new to learn. In elementary the early definitions of good writing was writing simple
sentences to formatting paragraphs. While in middle school you started to...show more content...
At this point in college you should have mastered all the past techniques that were taught to you.
The only new ideas that you may learn in writing is the use of Ethos, pathos, and logos. Logos is
the use of logic in your essays, pathos is the use of emotions to appeal to your audience, and ethos
is the credibility of your essay as in where you got the evidence from. You have to be able to
successfully give evidence in the essay and give proper credit to the source of the information. Also
at this point of writing you should know what type of language you need to use so that it appeals to
the audience/readers of the essay. You should be able to write a well written introduction that
introduces the novel or writing topic, and you have to provide a good ammount background
information too. Lastly the most important part of the introduction, if not the single most important
of your essay is the thesis. The body paragraphs must have smooth transitions between them and start
of each of them with topic sentence that relates to the thesis statement. In the body paragraphs one
should have enough evidence so that you are able to fully and thoroughly explain each one if your
ideas. Lastly the conclusion should be able to restate the thesis of the essay, summarize the contents
of the essay, and leave the readers with a

The essay that was given to us is great. In the beginning, it was just a reading and response for me.
I did not make it a big deal until I started to read it. Indeed, it was one of the best essays that I have
ever read my life. It has many stuffs that I should have known about before. I had not thought that
essay might make my mind opened. The words that have been used, the examples that have been
proved, and the techniques that have been given are fabricated to make the essay favorable to whom
wants to develop his/her writing. Additionally, I do agree with the author in many things as a new
learner. I used to read just because of enjoyment and knowing new information. I have never read
to become a better writer, which I believe it is so beneficial to me. Furthermore, the author's
purpose is so clear to the readers and that makes it so helpful to who wants to become a good

The first one is to have what you want from the essay and the story and that could be fun or a

jumps from idea to another one, and what kind of entrance he dose put in the beginning to hook
up the reader. Those ways are mentioned in the essay that has been given to us by my professor.
In fact, I used to put in the paper whatever in my mind while I am writing. I just take the words
from my mind and write them down on the paper. Now by having this essay, I am going to try to
use what I have seen, what it has hooked me up to it. Even more, I will read more and more to find
out which is the best to use in my essay. Reading like a writer is a way to get yourself better and

This refers to being able to support your claim with either personal experience, learning, or logical

Writing Style Analysis Essay
Introduction Understanding the various modes and methods of writing is important in academic
writing. The following essay will describe, examine, and analyze the methods of three peer reviewed
journal articles from the International Journal of Work, Health, & Organizations, specifically
addressing work and stress.
Describe–Journal Writing Style The publications within the journal selected show a specific writing
style throughout all the articles selected. The writing style that was presented in these articles was
a formal style of writing. A formal style of writing can be classified as academic writing that
presents a certain structure that is to be followed. For instance, these articles presented an abstract to

The structure of the publication of these journal articles is presented on three levels. First, the
authors present the background information on the topic to gain an understanding of the topic.
Secondly, the authors present their ideas by conducting a study on the topic selected. The studies
presented are topics that are occasionally discussed or researched so the authors of this journal shed
light on these areas. The final level of structure that the authors present is a discussion and
conclusion of their results. This final level of the articles presents ways for the intended audience to
incorporate the findings in their practice or encourage the audience to pursue further research within
the topic. For example, Deligkaris, Panagopoulou, Montgomery, and Masoura (2014), present in their
conclusion how there are limited studies on burnout in correlation with cognitive impairment and
introduce ideas for future research. In addition, the articles provided practical implications for
management to use within high–stress work environments to support their employees (Pindek &
Spector, 2016; Michailidis & Banks, 2016).
Analyze–Journal Writing connection to Student Writing The writing presented in the journal articles
showe one strong connection to the writings I submit within the classrooms of Capella University.
The major connection is the use of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological
Association (APA) is used. Using APA provides the overall structure of an author's writing. These
articles used headings, references, and citations throughout their work. I use these three elements
consistently, because it allows my work to be organized and my ideas supported based on other
journals related to the same topic.

Jane Austen: It's All About Style Jane Austen's writing style is her own. She is a master at weaving
dialogue and narration to create a compelling story. In her novel, Northanger Abbey, Austen
showcases her skills as a word weaver to tell the story of her modified heroine, Catherine Morland.
She also adds social commentary for the reader. She experiments with fiction in order to redefine the
role of women in novels. In doing this, Austen directs her readers away from the constructed lies of
her time and guides her readers towards an intelligible truth. Austen has the ability to draw attention
to the social injustices towards women during the early Nineteenth Century by breaking the...show

narration to speak to the reader. This method allows Austen is to reach out to the reader and for him
or her to formulate his or her own opinion pertaining to women reading for leisure. She is also
calling for the reader to unite together during the reading of this novel and enjoy it as a way to pass
the time and dream rather than an educational tool only applicable to man Another important role
of the narrator is help the plot move along and bypass the slower moments of the novel. She
writes that "Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday have now passed in
review before the reader" (65). This sentence serves two purposes. First, it allows Austen to add
suspense to the events that are to unfold on Sunday. It also informs the reader of the precise details
that are leading up to Sunday, and that the reader should have an opinion already formed because
Isabella's manipulation methods are about to be exposed. In this particular example, Isabella and

Using APA Style Analysis
It is important to give credit where credit is due. I mentioned this because it is crucial that when
you research you should always give credit to the authors work and not use it as your own. To do
this, you must use APA style when citing any direct quotes or paraphrasing. This is why APA
style was created in 1929 by phycologists and business managers. (Bethel University, 2014, p. 10)
When a school gives you a style to use for your papers, they do this so all the work they are
grading presents the same style. If students are using multiple styles it could be more difficult for the
instructor to grade. It has to be consistent with all students that is taking the same course. One tip to

are three things that I find to be very important when i'm writing any sort of paper. Listening to
music, making a an outline as detailed as needed for it it will carry me through the extent of the

There has been times where I get so caught up on the sounds of the words that i cease to actually

There has to be a point in your writing that you decide the purpose of the work, the meaning,
audience and justification. Sometimes I go through the trouble and write out a formal outline. These
formal outlines are usually reserved when writing speeches where each point has its own
subordinate point. However, on less serious or vexing assignments I don't feel as obligated to stick
to a roadmap 'outline'. The less perplexing assignments get a thorough mental roadmap built on
tentative ideas that change as the paper gets worked out. After revision the original mental roadmap

Apa Style Analysis
When you write an essay, you have to use a format. Formats help you have a better looking paper.
Some of these formats are called, APA, MLA, Chicago, Turabian, and AMA. But the ones I will
focus on is APA and MLA. APA and MLA are close and different in a few ways. APA, American
Psychological Association, style is used when you write a psychology, education, and other social
science paper. APA style is a format for academic documents such as journal articles and books.
APA style is most commonly used to site sources within the social sciences. This style is a formal
way of writing an official document. The essay should be typed, double–spaced on standard–sized
paper (8.5"x 11") with 1" margins on all sides. The essay should use a clear font that is readable.
APA recommends using 12 PT and Times New Roman font. The essay also includes a page header
at the top of every page. To create a page header, insert page numbers flush right, then type "title of
your page" in the header flush left using all capital letters. The running head is a shortened version of
your paper's title and cannot exceed 50 characters including spacing and punctuation....show more

You would use this style for regular writing. Writing for an english, theatre, art, etc., is some
examples of when you would use MLA. If you are to write a paper using MLA you would type your
paper on a computer, 8.5 x 11–inch paper. Double–space the text of your paper, and use a legible
font . The font size will be 12. Leave only one space after periods or other punctuation marks. Set
the margins of your document to one inch on all sides. Indent the first line of paragraphs one
half–inch from the left margin. Create a header that numbers all pages consecutively in the upper
right–hand corner, one–half inch from the top and flush with the right

How many interpersonal conflicts have you been in today, this week, or even this month? Do you
even know which conflict styles you normally use when faced with a disagreement? Furthermore,

With all of the information that we may use for what research we may be doing at the time, it is
important to give credit to whom the credit is due to. Claiming someone else's work as your own is
a serious offense of plagiarism. Plagiarism is an act or instance of using or closely imitating the
language and thoughts of another author without authorization and the representation of that
author's work as one's own, as by not crediting the original author (Dictionary.com, 2016).
Some of the challenges I face with APA styleis making sure that I have all the accurate resources
and that I cite them correctly. With all of the different ways to get information; online, textbook,
eBooks, articles etc. making sure that the references are on point can be a bit intimidating. However,
with that being said the advantages of APA are great as well. A huge advantage is in the EBSCO.
When you research something and you find what you need, there is an automatic reference that is
already formatted waiting to be use. Personally, for me, it cannot get any better than that.

APA Style Analysis
The APA format for writing papers is just one of the two mail writing styles used in the United
States (Gorman, 2014.) Well, let us start off with where APA came from. APA stands for the
American Psychological Association. The APA format began back in 1929 in a brief journal article
(Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association Sixth Edition, 2010) and by setting
standards in writing research papers. The article was written by a number of psychologists at that
time, to set rules for writing and to help ease reading comprehension. So we will be asking how we
write APA papers by first asking the basics and second by, discussing the credibility of thepaper and
then the style guidelines. Then finally, we also discuss how APA protects the writer from plagiarism.

First, APA guidelines use a twelve point Times New Roman font (Gorman, 2014.) The APA format
helps the writer to organiize their content, and uses a first person writing style (Gorman, 2014.) A
person can format their citations and their reference pages in the Word program to use easily to
document their papers. Also an APA paper usually have four main sections; title page, abstract page,
the main body of the paper and the reference page (Gorman, 2014.)
Credibility and Style Guidelines
The audience, who is reading this paper or listening from the writer, allows them to focus on your
thoughts and ideas. Plus this format shows that you are aware of the audience and will establish
your credibility. With style guidelines, this type of format helps you get your point of view
across and able to conveyed your research in a concise writing style. The writer can control on
how the readers receive the information and at all times to avoid bias (Gorman, 2014.) Just
remember to use plain language and do not use any kind of schemes or devices in your paper.

power is only meant for certain people, it also makes sense that if every individual really want

  • 1. Edgar Allan Poe Writing Style Analysis Edgar Allan Poe has been a subject study in many academic researches around the world. His ability to write short stories tempted academics in different domains to investigate about his writings. He published more than three hundred and fifty stories, poems, and critical articles (Sova vii).In fact, Poe has a considerable number of works in the fantasy genre, that attracted this research to make its subject study concerned with Poe and this genre. As far as the subject of this thesis is concerned, fantasy, there are some articles, found on an academic English website, to which this study has been attracted to, that analyze Poe‟s style and way of writing. The first article is entitled "Edgar Allan Poe Writing Style Analysis." It mentions some...show more content... It is this unity of effect that would ultimately lead the reader to live and feel the general mood of the story that Edgar Allan Poe wanted for his ending. Similarly, in "The Raven," Poe uses "great imagery to portray a feeling of horror, of grief and of madness, madness brought on by the loss of a love, Lenore." It is stated that Poe imagery to portray both the setting and the first tone of horror found in the raven, and to the reader to enter the world of the poet in the story. And the article comes out with a conclusion that these pieces of work „‟a tragic event in Edgar Allan Poe's life‟‟ (Poe & Imagery UKessays). However, the first article speaks about Poe‟s tales as falling into the horror genre, and not giving more importance to fantasy that contains horror in itself. And for the second article, it speaks about Poe‟s life as being an inspiration for his writings, yet it does not relate this to his choice of writing in the fantastic genre and not the realistic. Last but not least, the third one, although it is mentioned at the beginning that Poe is a fantastic writer, it does mostly about the unity of effect rather than talking more Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. My Writing Style Analysis From the second I was learning to write simple words in kindergarten to the hours spent writing essays in college I have always strived toward becoming a "good writer". What can make a successful writer is the proper understanding and usage of rhetoric, knowing your audience, and engaging in critical analysis. Yet each time I was finally starting to get better at articulating my point of view or finally mastering the new writing style in my classes, the definition of good writing changed. Each grade level had a new definition of what good writing entailed and each time I had something new to learn. In elementary the early definitions of good writing was writing simple sentences to formatting paragraphs. While in middle school you started to...show more content... At this point in college you should have mastered all the past techniques that were taught to you. The only new ideas that you may learn in writing is the use of Ethos, pathos, and logos. Logos is the use of logic in your essays, pathos is the use of emotions to appeal to your audience, and ethos is the credibility of your essay as in where you got the evidence from. You have to be able to successfully give evidence in the essay and give proper credit to the source of the information. Also at this point of writing you should know what type of language you need to use so that it appeals to the audience/readers of the essay. You should be able to write a well written introduction that introduces the novel or writing topic, and you have to provide a good ammount background information too. Lastly the most important part of the introduction, if not the single most important of your essay is the thesis. The body paragraphs must have smooth transitions between them and start of each of them with topic sentence that relates to the thesis statement. In the body paragraphs one should have enough evidence so that you are able to fully and thoroughly explain each one if your ideas. Lastly the conclusion should be able to restate the thesis of the essay, summarize the contents of the essay, and leave the readers with a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. My Writing Style Analysis The essay that was given to us is great. In the beginning, it was just a reading and response for me. I did not make it a big deal until I started to read it. Indeed, it was one of the best essays that I have ever read my life. It has many stuffs that I should have known about before. I had not thought that essay might make my mind opened. The words that have been used, the examples that have been proved, and the techniques that have been given are fabricated to make the essay favorable to whom wants to develop his/her writing. Additionally, I do agree with the author in many things as a new learner. I used to read just because of enjoyment and knowing new information. I have never read to become a better writer, which I believe it is so beneficial to me. Furthermore, the author's purpose is so clear to the readers and that makes it so helpful to who wants to become a good writer. Those ways are mentioned in the essay that has been given to us by my professor. In fact, I used to put in the paper whatever in my mind while I am writing. I just take the words from my mind and write them down on the paper. Now by having this essay, I am going to try to use what I have seen, what it has hooked me up to it. Even more, I will read more and more to find out which is the best to use in my essay. Reading like a writer is a way to get yourself better and better in Get more content on HelpWriting.net

This refers to being able to support your claim with either personal experience, learning, or logical thought. The second critical element is Integration and Application which means that you are able to show you understand the module content and gave careful consideration while answering the topic. Voice is the next critical element and it means that you are able to express yourself and reach your audience in an appropriate writing style. Writing is the last critical element and it means that your paper is free of grammar and spelling errors. When I write essay style papers, I find that my strength is writing in the first person. • 5. Writing Style Analysis Essay Introduction Understanding the various modes and methods of writing is important in academic writing. The following essay will describe, examine, and analyze the methods of three peer reviewed journal articles from the International Journal of Work, Health, & Organizations, specifically addressing work and stress. Describe–Journal Writing Style The publications within the journal selected show a specific writing style throughout all the articles selected. The writing style that was presented in these articles was a formal style of writing. A formal style of writing can be classified as academic writing that presents a certain structure that is to be followed. For instance, these articles presented an abstract to provide an overview to the...show more content... The structure of the publication of these journal articles is presented on three levels. First, the authors present the background information on the topic to gain an understanding of the topic. Secondly, the authors present their ideas by conducting a study on the topic selected. The studies presented are topics that are occasionally discussed or researched so the authors of this journal shed light on these areas. The final level of structure that the authors present is a discussion and conclusion of their results. This final level of the articles presents ways for the intended audience to incorporate the findings in their practice or encourage the audience to pursue further research within the topic. For example, Deligkaris, Panagopoulou, Montgomery, and Masoura (2014), present in their conclusion how there are limited studies on burnout in correlation with cognitive impairment and introduce ideas for future research. In addition, the articles provided practical implications for management to use within high–stress work environments to support their employees (Pindek & Spector, 2016; Michailidis & Banks, 2016). Analyze–Journal Writing connection to Student Writing The writing presented in the journal articles showe one strong connection to the writings I submit within the classrooms of Capella University. The major connection is the use of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) is used. Using APA provides the overall structure of an author's writing. These articles used headings, references, and citations throughout their work. I use these three elements consistently, because it allows my work to be organized and my ideas supported based on other journals related to the same topic. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In the event that 2017 was a period for in vogue locks, then 2017 guarantees to be considerably trendier. 2017 was the age of the colossal re–innovation when old styles were repeated with more noteworthy creative energy. The essential styles were clearly from the late 60s and the 70s. All could see that the motivation behind the styles lay solidly at the entryways of the great old' days. However, each new style had that small something–a sizzling punch that gave the old style a totally crisp and shocking look. Toweling will ruin the impact. Take after this with some finger waving. Stick twisting will likewise accomplish this impact. Great vintage adornments like rhinestones and plumes will finish the look. Ostrich plumes will be an anger in the coming year. The popular 80s: The 70's have worn themselves off with the entire "Nonconformist/disco" watch at last diminishing. Presently, the time has come to shake with the time of debauchery, as the 80s are regularly called. Straight is out and creases are in. Greater development, short layering styles and tousled, wind–blown look. Ponytails are a positive "no–no". Keep a sharp eye for brilliantly shaded sweatshirts, decreasing pants, and spiky stilettos. Junky adornments is another 80s enthusiasm. The Beatles renewed: The mod haircut of the 60s has returned a major way. This new form is shorter, with more surface in the crown, and limit blasts that nearly touch the eyelashes. An ultra short haircut and rakish trims will be a wrath in 2017. There are many different types of writing to get people with all personalities a way to interpret their own words. Descriptive essays are my personal favourite. They let you express and help interpret your imagination. They are very unique because you can get into such detail about them. • 9. Jane Austen Writing Style Analysis Angela Williams English 128J Dr. Fuson 21, October 2017 Jane Austen: It's All About Style Jane Austen's writing style is her own. She is a master at weaving dialogue and narration to create a compelling story. In her novel, Northanger Abbey, Austen showcases her skills as a word weaver to tell the story of her modified heroine, Catherine Morland. She also adds social commentary for the reader. She experiments with fiction in order to redefine the role of women in novels. In doing this, Austen directs her readers away from the constructed lies of her time and guides her readers towards an intelligible truth. She uses the words we, us, and I throughout this narration to speak to the reader. This method allows Austen is to reach out to the reader and for him or her to formulate his or her own opinion pertaining to women reading for leisure. She is also calling for the reader to unite together during the reading of this novel and enjoy it as a way to pass the time and dream rather than an educational tool only applicable to man Another important role of the narrator is help the plot move along and bypass the slower moments of the novel. She writes that "Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday have now passed in review before the reader" (65). This sentence serves two purposes. First, it allows Austen to add suspense to the events that are to unfold on Sunday. It also informs the reader of the precise details that are leading up to Sunday, and that the reader should have an opinion already formed because Isabella's manipulation methods are about to be exposed. In this particular example, Isabella and James secure plans for a party and commit Catherine's attendance, without Catherine knowing, thus interrupting her plans with Miss Tilney. Catherine speaks, "Do not urge me, Isabella. I am engaged to Miss Tilney. I cannot go" (66). However, Isabella does not respond to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Using APA Style Analysis It is important to give credit where credit is due. I mentioned this because it is crucial that when you research you should always give credit to the authors work and not use it as your own. To do this, you must use APA style when citing any direct quotes or paraphrasing. This is why APA style was created in 1929 by phycologists and business managers. (Bethel University, 2014, p. 10) When a school gives you a style to use for your papers, they do this so all the work they are grading presents the same style. If students are using multiple styles it could be more difficult for the instructor to grade. It has to be consistent with all students that is taking the same course. • 11. My Writing Style Analysis Being able to articulate your words in such a way that captures the true brilliance of a mind at work is very important. Writing seems to happen both instantaneously and with much forethought. As each writer deepens their prowess in literature they develop certain techniques that help them when writing. These techniques may very depending desire of the outcome. This is true for myself. There are three things that I find to be very important when i'm writing any sort of paper. Listening to music, making a an outline as detailed as needed for it it will carry me through the extent of the paper, and the final step is xxxxxx. To me the most important step I take in preparation is finding the right music to listen to. Personally, listening to music has always helped with writer's block. There has been times where I get so caught up on the sounds of the words that i cease to actually write; when i listen to music this is obsolete. Listening to music allows me to write at an almost stream of conscience type pace. There has to be a point in your writing that you decide the purpose of the work, the meaning, audience and justification. Sometimes I go through the trouble and write out a formal outline. These formal outlines are usually reserved when writing speeches where each point has its own subordinate point. However, on less serious or vexing assignments I don't feel as obligated to stick to a roadmap 'outline'. The less perplexing assignments get a thorough mental roadmap built on tentative ideas that change as the paper gets worked out. • 12. Apa Style Analysis When you write an essay, you have to use a format. Formats help you have a better looking paper. Some of these formats are called, APA, MLA, Chicago, Turabian, and AMA. But the ones I will focus on is APA and MLA. APA and MLA are close and different in a few ways. APA, American Psychological Association, style is used when you write a psychology, education, and other social science paper. APA style is a format for academic documents such as journal articles and books. APA style is most commonly used to site sources within the social sciences. This style is a formal way of writing an official document. The essay should be typed, double–spaced on standard–sized paper (8.5"x 11") with 1" margins on all sides. The essay should use a clear font that is readable. APA recommends using 12 PT and Times New Roman font. The essay also includes a page header at the top of every page. When I was first introduced to all the different styles of writing and grammar I was a bit overwhelmed because I must read, follow–direction and prepare assignments so that I, will learn these different writing styles, format and techniques during summer break. I was a bit scared but I told myself I must work hard to complete quality assignments timely. I had to encourage myself to do my very best in order for me to be able to attend college in the fall. I put that in my notebook because when I looked over the poetry writing unit I was really lost in it. My thoughts changed when, I took time and broke the unit down to make it clearer step by step is how I processed it. I enjoyed and learned more from this approach. Do you even know which conflict styles you normally use when faced with a disagreement? • 16. Using APA Style Analysis With the self–assessment in this week's reading I had to really become brutally honest with myself. In order to know where you are in life, it is helpful to self–assess yourself (Bethel University, 2014). At first, I found myself quickly answering them and when I finished I went back through to make sure that I did not miss anything. While going back through them I found that I was not being completely honest with myself. I had to redo some questions but I was happy with the results. This assessment made me open my eyes to little things that I have not noticed before, which was very helpful. I of course had weaknesses as do we all. Some of the challenges I face with APA styleis making sure that I have all the accurate resources and that I cite them correctly. With all of the different ways to get information; online, textbook, eBooks, articles etc. making sure that the references are on point can be a bit intimidating. However, with that being said the advantages of APA are great as well. A huge advantage is in the EBSCO. When you research something and you find what you need, there is an automatic reference that is already formatted waiting to be use. Personally, for me, it cannot get any better than that. I put the points that I am arguing on one side of a paper, and the points that I will be refuting on the other side. Doing this during the brainstorming part of a persuasive essay is essential for me, it helps me get through the brainstorming stage quicker and helps me get my ideas down. Even though having to transition from high school to college was really difficult to comprehend. Especially, the learning styles that I was given such as hegemony, ideology and other cultural studies that I wasn't familiarized with. However, I take my time off and fully understand what these concepts really mean. I started to read the big red book and take notes about cultural studies in class.
