My Personal Study Habits
Introduction This paper will be an examination of my personal study habits as a college freshman,
and an effort to discover techniques to improve my ability to learn and remember the information I
need to successfully graduate from college.
I have learned most of my study habits by watching my very successful daughter, a high school
junior with a rigorous course load making high honors, and attempting to mimic her. She has a very
strong work ethic; generally, once she arrives home she takes a short break to change clothes and
pet a cat, and then dives in to her homework. She knows when to give herself a breather to check
her social media accounts, and she is very clear that since she always studies hard and does her
best, she never fails, even if she gets a D or F on a test or quiz. I quite admire that. And her. We have
homework time together most nights.
Current Status I am in my second semester of college now, and thus far I have been able to attend to
my homework and studying to the degree that I have received near–perfect marks on everything I
have turned in. I am quite proud of this, and at the same time concerned that as the course–work
becomes more difficult I will both be unable to keep up with the amount of effort required and also
be unable to synthesize the information well enough to continue to receive those high grades. To
give myself the best possible chance at success, I have a study space adjacent to my child at the
kitchen table, with adequate lighting and

Nature Is My Teacher Essay
Nature! Mother Nature! So ancient, yet so fresh; so marvel, yet so novel! A deep connection
between beauty and civilization! It is my universe, it is my life. From birth to death, Mother Nature
cradles me in her bosom. She is always in my mind. She is so dear. Nature is my Teacher.
Simplicity is her beauty! Nature that envelopes all of us is so grand, so loving! She gives us the
grace, the beauty and the fluency of our life. The care, the love, the affection of all our human life is
imbibed from her spirit. She breathes life into us. Grew in sun and shadow, we live the life given
to us by her. We all are accommodated to be her children. She is the creator, protector and
promoter of our mortal life. Our purpose of life is worthy of her benevolence, it elevates us that we
are. It is as true as we exist as her children. Mother has always been a synonym with love, devotion
and dedication; the personification of nature as a nurturing mother is so primitive. Giving nature the
attributes of a mother, life–giving and nurturing, is as old as the evolution of human as a thinking
animal. We are at home and harmony with her– at our leisure, through our work, in our labor and at
our rest. She is the reservoir of all happiness, a whole planet of magic waits for us at every step.
The wise believes it, the prudent feels it. It is the human friction with nature, a Midas...show more

When we are in harmony with nature, we live in normal and moral terms with ourselves; our
leisure in nature becomes pleasure. Keeping that in mind, what we have attempted in the book is
to connect, interface and achieve the natural love of life, which is so close to the earth and open to
the world. The connection helps us to see the tree green, the birds fly in the blue sky, setting of the
sun, and a morning sunrise with a new look. It makes us feel that these were there before our eyes
all these days, yet we missed them

Events That Changed My Life
The Events That Changed My Life There are many different life changing events that can change
your life. Sometimes things happen in people's life and they can't do anything about it. Changes
can be good and sometimes it can be a terrible thing that results in a positive turn in one's life.
Change is a part of life that no one looks forward to. Everyone's life changes at some point. Life is
full of many unexpected challenges that will be thrown in your face at any place and any time.
People learn and grow from every experience that they go through in life. Some of the events that
have changed my life was losing my grandmother, graduation, and going to college. Changes
come almost every day in my life. Losing my grandmother was one of the worst things that have
happened to me. When she died, I knew my life had changed. I watched her take her last breath in
the hospital and it was very heartbreaking. She was like my second mom because she was always
with me. I didn't think it would come so soon. Dealing with her death was one of the hardest thing
that I've ever had to do. It was very hard because it was my second experience of losing someone
very close to me around the same time of the year. I had to learn how to cope with losing her. I let
all my emotions out, I didn't listen to what anyone was saying, and I had to remember to take care
of myself. Losing my grandmother changed me because she did everything for me. I had to grow
up and be more responsible. I had to learn how

My Future Essay
Every since I was a young girl I have been always asked by, what do you wanna be when you grow
up? I know some people that change their minds every week of what their future hold for them and
how they are gonna live through it. The future is changing every second of our lives, everything
single thing that we do affects what our future hold for us. All my life I have been determined on
one thing in my life. I have always wanted to become a doctor no matter what. I know that there is
nothing that is gonna change my mind about that. Technology has helped many people with what
they do at their job, however it has also harmed their jobs also. All my life I have been in and out of
hospitals. Every since I was born I had some problems that I had to face. Thanks to all the doctors
that were there for me, that helped me become the girl that stands today, I get to live my life in
peace. I had told myself from that day forward that I was gonna become a doctor or a nurse and help
as many people as I can. I have always loved to help people in need. I hope that one day that I can
save someone's life as someone saved mine.If I had to pick one role model that I looked up to ,I
couldn't. That is because I admire and idolize every single nurse and doctor there is in this world
that help keep people alive and safe every single day.
I want to do many things in my future. As well as being a doctor who helps people, I want to live
life and just be there. The future is

Writing is way that we can express ourselves, it is a way to interface ideas and thoughts and to
prove a point. Throughout my writing experience or process I have struggled with writing
especially using details or really expressing myself my work. In this course Facts & Fiction: Portraits
in World Art I expect to gain more knowledge on how to write a perfectessay, story, letter, and
assignment. I expect to learn new genres and rhetorical situations. I also think my writing will
improve academically and I will develop my skills in writing. Also taking my writing to a different
point of view, level, and writing something different rather than the usual. I look forward to getting
feedback from my peers and learning their thoughts on my writing and how they can help me
improve.
Reading and writing were two things my parents use to always push me to improve and work on
more often. They always told me they are the essentials of everything thing. Even though I
disliked both at a young age as I grew older I preferred writing because I can always change the
way I write and write from my point of view, really be creative with it and prove my point.
Growing up I always loved writing short stories especially scary stories. I always was creative
with them and even made them realistic. To write an essay I usually have a couple of steps
writing an outline, and the thesis a draft and finally a final draft. The most difficult part about this
is writing the thesis because the whole essay revolves the thesis because it summarizes the whole
essay. At the end of some essays, I had to use citations to do that there were many websites that
helped me cite sources such as easybib which was a really simple process. So, citing sources was
one of the easiest things about writing the essay.
Writing to a teacher is way more complex then writing to a fried or a family member. Writing to a
teacher is way more complex, I must make sure that everything is on point or it reaches the state of
protection. Which is having the right format, a great thesis and really conveying the point of the
essay. Writing to a friend or a family member is much easier I usually don't focus on grammatic
errors or writing a perfect thesis. Today some of us don't

My Experience To The Library
Experience at the Library
The library is a wonderful place to go to if you would like a quiet place to work. I like being at the
library because it is filled with knowledge, and there are many different books that interest me. I
enjoy going to the library because walking there clears my mind. Also, there are many books that are
available for the public to read and it is a quiet place to do work. To start, the walk to the library is
relaxing and peaceful. I decided to go to the library on September 21st for a college assignment.
While walking to the library I was intrigued by the many things that were going on around me. I
saw a mailman riding on a bicycle delivering mail which was something that I've never seen before.
Also, something that was very surprising to me was that there was a group of children running
behind an ice–cream truck which was a single block in front of me. I found this very amusing and I
continued to watch until they were out of sight. It made me think about when I was little and
what I used to do when I heard the ice cream truck come around my house. After walking for quite a
bit of time I began to feel tired and dehydrated. I began to wish I had chased after the ice cream
truck and got an ice cream to it, but it was gone already. I normally don't walk to the library so I
guess that was the reason I was so easily tired. I decided to buy a drink from the local corner store to
regain some of my energy. The library is home to knowledge which is why it

My Experience Of My Music : My Life Of Music
The air was buzzing with soft whispers and laughter. My stomach was in all sorts of knots. I could
feel my heart thumping vigorously inside my chest. It was a hot night and the giant sun–like lights
that shined down on us from the McCallum theatre didn't help at all. I held my bass guitar with a
tight grip, repeating the notes I had practiced over and over in my head.
Music has always been a thing in my family, a special thing most of us share. Family gatherings or
parties never went without the sounds of guitars, pianos, or voices filling the atmosphere. They
enjoyed displaying their talent and had such fun becoming this joyful human jukebox.
I was always the timid kid. I never liked attention and avoided the spotlight at all cost, even if it
was around the people I knew and loved. I was too shy to sing and too shy to play the instruments I
had knowledge of. When I joined band in high–school I never knew I would be able to overcome this
struggle. I started off in marching band , playing auxiliary percussion. I then became part of the
jazz band where I was the lead piano player. I enjoyed everything about band especially how we
could become one sound and jam to all sorts of music selections. One day our band teacher
presented us with an opportunity to join a latin/salsa band. Practices would be held after school and
he would not be the instructor. They needed a bass player and our current jazz band bass player did
not want to join. I remember hesitating at the thought

Your Own Experiences with Nonverbal Communication First Experience with Nonverbal
Communication: My first personal experience with nonverbal communication occurred while
shaking hands with a stranger in the coffee shop. I was waiting for my friend in the coffee shop
once an evening. During that interval, one stranger came nearby to my table and raised his hand
toward me. His intention was to shake hands with me. But surprisingly, he was unknown to me and
I had no personal information about him. He seemed quite strange to me as it was really our first
face–to–face meeting with him. I also raised my hand toward him to shake hands. His way of
shaking hand was very arrogant, making me feel somehow embracing. By showing a weird smile,
that stranger called my name wrong and introduced himself as "John Alex" and told that he studies
at the Saint Convent School. I realized that John had some misunderstanding about my real name
and appearance. John's way of introducing himself was also confusing, making me uncomfortable
to talk with him. John then started staring at me with some confused thoughts. I believed that
John was now realizing his mistake of wrongly assuming me as his class fellow or a friend.
However, I showed every bit of respect for John while treating his awkward behavior. I considered
John's it as such because it was completely out of the traditional way of meeting a person. His
greeting style was even unfriendly according to the ethical terms. It really made me feel

How My Parent Divorce Changed My Life
"What you are afraid to do is a clear indication of the next thing you need to do." (–Ralph Waldo
Emerson). My parentВґs divorce has shaped and influenced my whole life, with a lot of side effects.
I fell into a state of depression. I learned not to dwell on the bad things in life. I found a person
within myself that I could live with for a while, a kid that I could be proud of, someone I wouldn't
hate. Over the years, I've changed, little changes, big changes, it's all happened, and I am who I am
today because of it. Not all crummy circumstances stay awful, even though it may feel like it. I can't
tell if I've changed for the better or the worse, but everything starts with something, one thing. My
parentВґs divorce shaped me into who I am today, whether the changes were good or bad, little or
big, this has changed me. Often enough, divorce usually has a negative effect on people. I am no
exception to that. Though I was too young to remember what life was like before my parents
separated themselves, having that life for as long as I can think of was not a good experience. It
caused me to have a serious case of anxiety before going to my dad's house for visitation, during, and
after. No one likes to feel anxious or stressed, and I felt that everyday, all the time. I was a
self–conscious, shy girl who wasn't ready for complex...show more content...
I changed, with the help of family, friends, and therapists. I am ever thankful to them, and I have
learned to appreciate the good things in life, the small ones. I know that being pessimistic is not
the way to go. If we want to be strong and overcome the trials in our life that may hit us when we
least expect it, we have to look at the silver lining, the 'bright side' of things. When all you think
about are the events gone wrong in your life, why is that life worth living? Point is, it's better that
you pull the thorns from your side as soon as you can, not to let them

Turning Around My Worst Experience Essay
Every person experience's both the good and the bad in their life. Most people whom have
experienced the bad take it just as that, and don't see what the benefit could have been. In my life
I experienced what some may say is the worst thing that could happen to a child. Do I agree? Of
course, but only to an extent, I believe the worst experience in my life was also the best. Losing
the only man in her life, her hero, her father and only at the young age of fifteen. There were so
many different emotions that I was feeling, I didn't think that I was alone. I had an older sister
named Tina at the age of eighteen that I thought would be my support. Yet I have been wrong, she
dealt with it worst then I did and fell deeper down that I was. Now...show more content...
I still barely spoke to anyone, I wasn't myself, and I wasn't the happy imaginative girl I once was.
My sister was never home for days at a time, so I was all alone. One day her things are packed and
my sister left, leaving me behind. I decided to move with my grandmother in Virginia and I
figured maybe having someone there would help me cope much easier. It was all the same I was
still sad, still depressed, and now I had no stable home. It was not working out at my
grandmother's, I then moved in with my cousin in New Jersey for a few months. She was young
with a daughter but seemed to never be home. There I met a new friend named Anthony, but
where I was living just didn't seem to work, so I went back to my grandmother's in Virginia.
When I was living with my grandmother I was in high school, seventeen years old now but the
feeling of my father passing away was still there just like it happened yesterday. I've talked to my
sister every now and then but barely. Luckily, I still had the friend that I've met while living with
my cousin in New Jersey. There were many people in Virginia whom I could have been friends
with and that I have talked to, but I didn't I chose to talk to him and only him. Anthony a very
typical, common name yet he was anything but that to me. Every chance we've got we talked
before school, after school, even texting during school. He was my joy when I spoke to him I didn't
feel alone anymore, talking to him was my high; he made me laugh, and

My Life Had Flipped Upside Down
My life had flipped upside–down–literally. I looked to my right and saw only the blue sky outside
the car window. I spoke out in a daze before instincts took over: "What just happened?" I climbed
upwards and outwards through the window and in a moment of clarity my eyesight resolved to
see my mom's car resting on its side. I realized my entire left arm was dripping with blood. My
perception faded to a montage; I remember brief clips of an ambulance ride and being wheeled
hurriedly through double doors on a gurney. I was greeted by a calm, young doctor. I was 16. At the
time I could only think of two things–how this man was able to remain so calm after seeing the pulp
my arm had become, and conversely, how out of control my mother would be over our ruined car.
Little did I know that the calm guidance this doctor provided would be the first contribution toward
my path to becoming a physician.
I became utterly fascinated by medicine. This doctor had shown me the leadership that a physician
can provide and I was determined to build that trait within myself. I took initiative and explored
medicine during my undergraduate studies. After volunteering in the UC Davis operating room and
observing many surgeries, I became convinced that the medical profession would be a great fit. I
confirmed this at the UC Davis Spine Center. There, I befriended a resident whom I shadowed, and
found myself excited to visit each patient and witness how she could effortlessly soothe each patient's

My Future Plans For The Future
Imagine the perfect life, the perfect family, dream house, dream car, and the perfect career. That's
what I hope someday my life will be like. Everyone has a future plan, to make the best out of our
life, what is your plan? My future plan is to be a pediatrician. I would like to help the children of
the future. They are the next generation and I would like to leave a legacy for them to follow. I
want to help save and make a child happy someday. The thought of making a difference in
someone's life is the reason I can go to sleep peacefully. We all have a purpose for being here and I
my purpose is to save one of us, my purpose is to help the ones in need, the ones in the street
begging for somewhere to live, the ones dying of poverty. However, right now in the 21st century
technology has taken over the world, not figuratively but literally. It made the world, both a bad
and good place. People are going to run out of jobs and tech will run the world. Technology will
be the greatest invention of human kind but how will it affect some of us? First to begin with,
Technology is part of our everyday lives. Every nook, every corner we turn there is someone with
technology. In doing research it says technology is advancing so fast that it will be a thousand times
more advanced in the next 10 years. From having no technology in the 1900s we are currently
flourishing with technology every day, in our house there is at least 10 different items that are
connected to the internet. To

Research Paper On My Hobbies
With regards to my personal life, I have been particularly blessed to have experienced a joyful and
easy–going life. I was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California and later moved to Ventura, a
city just south of Santa Barbara. As a result, its safe to assume that I've been and will always be a
California kid. The beach was walking distance away from my home and the weather was always
warm and sunny. My family also have been pivotal in instilling a happy demeanor by always
inculcating my psyche with positive attitudes coupled with kind and outgoing manners to people of
all colors, creeds, and nationalities.
Furthermore, I wouldn't that I have a wide array of hobbies, however I more so have a set of
hobbies which I focus on at an extremely high level with a large degree of proficiency. To further
explain, two hobbies that I particularly enjoy are creating and playing music, as well as writing.
With regards to music, I have been playing guitar for over a year now, and I can honestly say it
has had one of the most profound effects upon my life imaginable. Music offers the only outlet
that I can fathom which can allow to forget about the world around me. All the problems I am
having, all the issues of the world that can bog me down, are eliminated because once I pick up the
guitar, I'm essentially one with the instrument, all the focus of my human psyche is upon the music
being played and if it's particularly good, I'll maniacally write it down to preserve it. Which is an

My Experience At A Museum
I have visited countless museums in my lifetime, and throughout these experiences I have noticed a
general pattern in the museum visitors. Often times they grant only a slight glance at the pieces, and
allocate their energy in to taking pictures with the pieces rather than taking the time to learn about
the art. On the contrary, I view museums as a place of learning, where culture is preserved and
diversity is celebrated, where creativity is fostered and exploration is welcomed. My interest in
interning at the Smithsonian Institution stems from the idea that museums are a place to gain
knowledge. Through my experience as a docent at the WellinMuseum of Art at Hamilton College
and leading tours for students and adults of various ages, I have seen the importance of a teaching
museum, where the main goal is to educate. There is nothing more rewarding than helping kids learn
about the world through the lens of art, or enlightening a trustee of the College about a work of their
interest. The Smithsonian Institution's goal of increasing and diffusing knowledge parallels my
ideal view of what a museum's values should entail. I aspire to intern at the Smithsonian in order to
positively contribute and support the Institution's goals and values, and have a unique learning
experience. As a sophomore at Hamilton College, I have had numerous internship experiences in the
past. In the summer of 2016, I interned at the Albany District Attorney's Office. Aside from a deeper

Essay On My Mentor
There have been many people in my life that had served as a mentor to me. This one in particular
has had the biggest impact on my life so far. He was my basketball coach, Coach Ham. Our
relationship ever since the first day I saw him has always been good. We both met at the Euclid
High School girl's gym. My sister had basketball practice that day and the coach wanted me to go
up there too. When I walked into the gym, I saw him sitting in an athletic sports chair on the side
yelling out plays to run to the other girls. After my sister, Rashida, introduced me to him, he
asked me if I wanted to practice with them, probably because I had already had my basketball gear
on from my previous practice at the middle school. I did and but didn't want to practice with them
because they were all older than me. I thought I would not be able to keep up with the other girls
and they would get angry at me or I would slow them down. After a lot...show more content...

whole world. He has been a significant impact on my life because he was the one that pushed me

me that basketball is more than just a sport, he made me realize that it is something I really love
and want to pursue as part of my career. I hope to be able to make it to the next level. He also
helped to get a basketball scholarship at Eastern Michigan University. With his help, support, and
encouraging words I can and will make it to the next level. Even though Coach Ham will not be

My Experience As A Student Teacher
Today's classroom is one of variety and challenge. I have seen first hand, in the classroom I
observed this semester, the impact of various children's backgrounds. There were second graders
from every walk of life and this diversity impacted how they interacted with each other, and, on
some occasions, how the teacher interacted with them. When working with a group of children such
as these, the educator must be aware of every aspect of diversity in their classroom. Diversity may
come in many forms: academic achievement, race, language, or socioeconomic differences, and it
may be difficult to address each of these needs individually. Regardless of these challenges, a
successful teacher will have the ability to create an atmosphere which will turn the student's
perceived "limitations" into their strongest ability. This what will keep them determined and ready
to engage with the curriculum. My experiences as a student teacher showed me that the biggest
barrier that I will have to surmount is finding a way to communicate the necessary information to
my students so that they will learn and even thrive in my class. This is especially true when
working in a low income area where students are worried about problems that are much bigger than
school: where their next meal is coming from or how much money they can earn to help their family
when they go to work that night. Such larger concerns will dwarf what happens in school, making
homework seem irrelevant and/or impossible. With

The Turning Point in My Life Essay
I was in my final year at high–school. I was only seventeen and the pressure of knowing that the
outcome of school results would determine my whole life ahead finally got to me. I snapped. One
day, in the absence of my parents, I ran away from home, hoping never to return. This was the
turning point in my life.
With an incomplete education on one hand, I was a lost soul, unaware of what to do or where to
go. I ran into a group of people who claimed they could assist me out of this dark web I was now
tangled in. They introduced me to drugs. Dosed with pills of heroin and cocaine, my life was
tumbling downhill like a snowball, only gathering wrong as it rolled. It was those times where I was

It was only a matter of time before I was caught and sentenced to nineteen years of imprisonment.
The words of Gregory David Roberts described my situation as I felt it– "I was a revolutionary who
lost his ideals in heroin, a philosopher who lost his integrity in crime and a poet who lost his soul in
a maximum–security prison." Two years in jail and I escaped in broad daylight and took asylum in
the jhopadis of Dharavi in Mumbai. I got involved in the mafia and started a business of
smuggling guns and ammunition and counterfeiting money. The money I earned was enough to
pay off any heart fancying a call to the police. I was a notoriously known figure now, and
probably the most wanted person in the whole of the country. Everyday I met new people
interested in my business. One day to my surprise a female entrepreneur came to my "office." She
was gorgeous and from the moment I set my eyes on her I fell in love with her. She helped my
business for six months and became a close part of my life until finally she betrayed me to the
police. It seemed she was involved with them and did this for a sum of money. I was imprisoned
again. It was here that I was chained beaten, stabbed and starved. I was at constant war with myself.
Should I have done what I did? But it did not matter now. My companions lost sanity while I kept
my nerve. I buried them and their lives into my own

My Reflection Of My Academic Journey In College
I have changed a lot over the last two years. Relationships and attitudes have come and gone.
However, I have always enjoyed learning. The pursuit of knowledge continues to be important to
me and I feel like I have learned a lot in my college experience so far. My academic journey has
shaped the way I look at myself, my moral understandings, and my view of happiness. In recent
years, I have come to the conclusion that I am most definitely a creator. I enjoyed making items in
high school and earlier, but I have realized in college that it is an essential part of who I am.
Furthermore, to be a good creator, one must be a good critic. In my Honors seminars and other
courses, we have read and analyzed many great works. The knowledge gained...show more content...
Nothing can be perfect, but I strive for all of my works to be the closest it can get. I know now for
sure that I am creator and it is what I always want to be. I believe I have become a better person over
the last two years. Or, at least, as good as I will get. I have a lot more respect for other people than I
used to. Before, I only surrounded myself with people that I thought would be useful later. It seems
so horrible now. I went to a very large high school. People came in and out of my life at a rapid
pace. There were several people at my graduation that I had not seen in years. I thought they
literally dropped off the face of the Earth or just moved. There was little need to be a good person
to people, because you would often never see them again. Here, I no longer have that luxury. I
mean, that is good. It is now necessary to have a good relationship with people. I think it has
certainly helped to have a group of classmates every year who have a common goal. Another
conclusion I have drawn from my last few years is that every person has a moral obligation to be
as knowledgeable as possible. My biggest pet peeve is stupid people who think they are smart. We
are in the shape we are in today because of these people. I wish people would just admit when they
do not know something. I do. I would never be seen entering a conversation about molecular biology
and acting like an expert. I

My Future Essay
My future is something I often think about. Most often, the questions that arise include the
common doubts of "Am I doing this right?", or even the occasional midnight philosophical
questions such as "Why are we here?", and so on. For the purpose of this essay, I will focus on the
factors that have allowed me to reach this point in my life and how these factors influenced and
continue to influence me, in order to provide me with a visualization of my future.
Factors that contributed to my current life choices include the desperate want to be something
greater, as well as to experience the world in ways some could only dream of. I study hard,
allowing for me to have the possibility of an early graduation. I dream big, allowing me with the
imagination to draw up plans for myself and my future. I work hard, allowing me the strength and
vision to execute my plans for the future. The way that I was raised has greatly benefited me. My
parents have taught me that anything and everything is possible as long as you work hard for it
despite the what others may tell you or even if the odds are against you. Another factor that led to
my current life, is the amount of time I allow myself to think about my plans and refine them. This is
extremely important because, without a solid, flexible, long–term plan, you could get lost in
dreaming about the future, and end up not accomplishing anything. Hence, many aspects of my life
have been planned out with not one or two possible alternatives

It's hard to believe that it's already time for Midterms in my English 101 class. The adventure has
been a lot easier than I at first anticipated. In any case, I am happy that I am taking the class and
learning from it. In the beginning it appeared somewhat hard however I was resolved to compel my

On the first day of my English 101 class I was apprehensive, I had no clue what's in store from the
class. As I discovered what the class would have been similar to, I let myself know I was going to
attempt to get an B or higher toward the end of the semester and put all the exertion I had into each
paper I kept in touch with, I was not going to set this class aside for later and linger like I use to do.

I have an unmistakable view in my head of what I am going to compose and what structures I have
to utilize. Things have ended up less difficult now since I don't need to experience the battle of how
things are done or on the chance that I don't understand how I should do what I am expected to do.
These aptitudes may empower me to enjoy additionally composing and not need to stress over
having a written assignment.
This course has helped me with many chances to figure out how to properly write papers. Prior to
this class, I had little experience with how to build a legitimate paper. It has taken experience, and
getting normal evaluations, to show me how to precisely write. Despite the fact that this course
required different papers to be turned in, I am appreciative to have possessed the capacity to gain
from my oversights and develop as a writer. I have constantly cherished written work, however now
I am ready to improve my writing as the semester

My Turn Essay

  • 1. My Personal Study Habits Introduction This paper will be an examination of my personal study habits as a college freshman, and an effort to discover techniques to improve my ability to learn and remember the information I need to successfully graduate from college. I have learned most of my study habits by watching my very successful daughter, a high school junior with a rigorous course load making high honors, and attempting to mimic her. She has a very strong work ethic; generally, once she arrives home she takes a short break to change clothes and pet a cat, and then dives in to her homework. She knows when to give herself a breather to check her social media accounts, and she is very clear that since she always studies hard and does her best, she never fails, even if she gets a D or F on a test or quiz. I quite admire that. And her. We have homework time together most nights. Current Status I am in my second semester of college now, and thus far I have been able to attend to my homework and studying to the degree that I have received near–perfect marks on everything I have turned in. I am quite proud of this, and at the same time concerned that as the course–work becomes more difficult I will both be unable to keep up with the amount of effort required and also be unable to synthesize the information well enough to continue to receive those high grades. To give myself the best possible chance at success, I have a study space adjacent to my child at the kitchen table, with adequate lighting and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Nature Is My Teacher Essay Nature! Mother Nature! So ancient, yet so fresh; so marvel, yet so novel! A deep connection between beauty and civilization! It is my universe, it is my life. From birth to death, Mother Nature cradles me in her bosom. She is always in my mind. She is so dear. Nature is my Teacher. Simplicity is her beauty! Nature that envelopes all of us is so grand, so loving! She gives us the grace, the beauty and the fluency of our life. The care, the love, the affection of all our human life is imbibed from her spirit. She breathes life into us. Grew in sun and shadow, we live the life given to us by her. We all are accommodated to be her children. She is the creator, protector and promoter of our mortal life. Our purpose of life is worthy of her benevolence, it elevates us that we are. It is as true as we exist as her children. Mother has always been a synonym with love, devotion and dedication; the personification of nature as a nurturing mother is so primitive. Giving nature the attributes of a mother, life–giving and nurturing, is as old as the evolution of human as a thinking animal. We are at home and harmony with her– at our leisure, through our work, in our labor and at our rest. She is the reservoir of all happiness, a whole planet of magic waits for us at every step. The wise believes it, the prudent feels it. It is the human friction with nature, a Midas...show more content... When we are in harmony with nature, we live in normal and moral terms with ourselves; our leisure in nature becomes pleasure. Keeping that in mind, what we have attempted in the book is to connect, interface and achieve the natural love of life, which is so close to the earth and open to the world. The connection helps us to see the tree green, the birds fly in the blue sky, setting of the sun, and a morning sunrise with a new look. It makes us feel that these were there before our eyes all these days, yet we missed them Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Events That Changed My Life The Events That Changed My Life There are many different life changing events that can change your life. Sometimes things happen in people's life and they can't do anything about it. Changes can be good and sometimes it can be a terrible thing that results in a positive turn in one's life. Change is a part of life that no one looks forward to. Everyone's life changes at some point. Life is full of many unexpected challenges that will be thrown in your face at any place and any time. People learn and grow from every experience that they go through in life. Some of the events that have changed my life was losing my grandmother, graduation, and going to college. Changes come almost every day in my life. Losing my grandmother was one of the worst things that have happened to me. When she died, I knew my life had changed. I watched her take her last breath in the hospital and it was very heartbreaking. She was like my second mom because she was always with me. I didn't think it would come so soon. Dealing with her death was one of the hardest thing that I've ever had to do. It was very hard because it was my second experience of losing someone very close to me around the same time of the year. I had to learn how to cope with losing her. I let all my emotions out, I didn't listen to what anyone was saying, and I had to remember to take care of myself. Losing my grandmother changed me because she did everything for me. I had to grow up and be more responsible. I had to learn how Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My Future Essay Every since I was a young girl I have been always asked by, what do you wanna be when you grow up? I know some people that change their minds every week of what their future hold for them and how they are gonna live through it. The future is changing every second of our lives, everything single thing that we do affects what our future hold for us. All my life I have been determined on one thing in my life. I have always wanted to become a doctor no matter what. I know that there is nothing that is gonna change my mind about that. Technology has helped many people with what they do at their job, however it has also harmed their jobs also. All my life I have been in and out of hospitals. Every since I was born I had some problems that I had to face. Thanks to all the doctors that were there for me, that helped me become the girl that stands today, I get to live my life in peace. I had told myself from that day forward that I was gonna become a doctor or a nurse and help as many people as I can. I have always loved to help people in need. I hope that one day that I can save someone's life as someone saved mine.If I had to pick one role model that I looked up to ,I couldn't. That is because I admire and idolize every single nurse and doctor there is in this world that help keep people alive and safe every single day. I want to do many things in my future. As well as being a doctor who helps people, I want to live life and just be there. The future is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Writing is way that we can express ourselves, it is a way to interface ideas and thoughts and to prove a point. Throughout my writing experience or process I have struggled with writing especially using details or really expressing myself my work. In this course Facts & Fiction: Portraits in World Art I expect to gain more knowledge on how to write a perfectessay, story, letter, and assignment. I expect to learn new genres and rhetorical situations. I also think my writing will improve academically and I will develop my skills in writing. Also taking my writing to a different point of view, level, and writing something different rather than the usual. I look forward to getting feedback from my peers and learning their thoughts on my writing and how they can help me improve. Reading and writing were two things my parents use to always push me to improve and work on more often. They always told me they are the essentials of everything thing. Even though I disliked both at a young age as I grew older I preferred writing because I can always change the way I write and write from my point of view, really be creative with it and prove my point. Growing up I always loved writing short stories especially scary stories. I always was creative with them and even made them realistic. To write an essay I usually have a couple of steps writing an outline, and the thesis a draft and finally a final draft. The most difficult part about this is writing the thesis because the whole essay revolves the thesis because it summarizes the whole essay. At the end of some essays, I had to use citations to do that there were many websites that helped me cite sources such as easybib which was a really simple process. So, citing sources was one of the easiest things about writing the essay. Writing to a teacher is way more complex then writing to a fried or a family member. Writing to a teacher is way more complex, I must make sure that everything is on point or it reaches the state of protection. Which is having the right format, a great thesis and really conveying the point of the essay. Writing to a friend or a family member is much easier I usually don't focus on grammatic errors or writing a perfect thesis. Today some of us don't Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. My Experience To The Library Experience at the Library The library is a wonderful place to go to if you would like a quiet place to work. I like being at the library because it is filled with knowledge, and there are many different books that interest me. I enjoy going to the library because walking there clears my mind. Also, there are many books that are available for the public to read and it is a quiet place to do work. To start, the walk to the library is relaxing and peaceful. I decided to go to the library on September 21st for a college assignment. While walking to the library I was intrigued by the many things that were going on around me. I saw a mailman riding on a bicycle delivering mail which was something that I've never seen before. Also, something that was very surprising to me was that there was a group of children running behind an ice–cream truck which was a single block in front of me. I found this very amusing and I continued to watch until they were out of sight. It made me think about when I was little and what I used to do when I heard the ice cream truck come around my house. After walking for quite a bit of time I began to feel tired and dehydrated. I began to wish I had chased after the ice cream truck and got an ice cream to it, but it was gone already. I normally don't walk to the library so I guess that was the reason I was so easily tired. I decided to buy a drink from the local corner store to regain some of my energy. The library is home to knowledge which is why it Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. My Experience Of My Music : My Life Of Music The air was buzzing with soft whispers and laughter. My stomach was in all sorts of knots. I could feel my heart thumping vigorously inside my chest. It was a hot night and the giant sun–like lights that shined down on us from the McCallum theatre didn't help at all. I held my bass guitar with a tight grip, repeating the notes I had practiced over and over in my head. Music has always been a thing in my family, a special thing most of us share. Family gatherings or parties never went without the sounds of guitars, pianos, or voices filling the atmosphere. They enjoyed displaying their talent and had such fun becoming this joyful human jukebox. I was always the timid kid. I never liked attention and avoided the spotlight at all cost, even if it was around the people I knew and loved. I was too shy to sing and too shy to play the instruments I had knowledge of. When I joined band in high–school I never knew I would be able to overcome this struggle. I started off in marching band , playing auxiliary percussion. I then became part of the jazz band where I was the lead piano player. I enjoyed everything about band especially how we could become one sound and jam to all sorts of music selections. One day our band teacher presented us with an opportunity to join a latin/salsa band. Practices would be held after school and he would not be the instructor. They needed a bass player and our current jazz band bass player did not want to join. I remember hesitating at the thought Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Your Own Experiences with Nonverbal Communication First Experience with Nonverbal Communication: My first personal experience with nonverbal communication occurred while shaking hands with a stranger in the coffee shop. I was waiting for my friend in the coffee shop once an evening. During that interval, one stranger came nearby to my table and raised his hand toward me. His intention was to shake hands with me. But surprisingly, he was unknown to me and I had no personal information about him. He seemed quite strange to me as it was really our first face–to–face meeting with him. I also raised my hand toward him to shake hands. His way of shaking hand was very arrogant, making me feel somehow embracing. By showing a weird smile, that stranger called my name wrong and introduced himself as "John Alex" and told that he studies at the Saint Convent School. I realized that John had some misunderstanding about my real name and appearance. John's way of introducing himself was also confusing, making me uncomfortable to talk with him. John then started staring at me with some confused thoughts. I believed that John was now realizing his mistake of wrongly assuming me as his class fellow or a friend. However, I showed every bit of respect for John while treating his awkward behavior. I considered John's it as such because it was completely out of the traditional way of meeting a person. His greeting style was even unfriendly according to the ethical terms. It really made me feel Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. How My Parent Divorce Changed My Life "What you are afraid to do is a clear indication of the next thing you need to do." (–Ralph Waldo Emerson). My parentВґs divorce has shaped and influenced my whole life, with a lot of side effects. I fell into a state of depression. I learned not to dwell on the bad things in life. I found a person within myself that I could live with for a while, a kid that I could be proud of, someone I wouldn't hate. Over the years, I've changed, little changes, big changes, it's all happened, and I am who I am today because of it. Not all crummy circumstances stay awful, even though it may feel like it. I can't tell if I've changed for the better or the worse, but everything starts with something, one thing. My parentВґs divorce shaped me into who I am today, whether the changes were good or bad, little or big, this has changed me. Often enough, divorce usually has a negative effect on people. I am no exception to that. Though I was too young to remember what life was like before my parents separated themselves, having that life for as long as I can think of was not a good experience. It caused me to have a serious case of anxiety before going to my dad's house for visitation, during, and after. No one likes to feel anxious or stressed, and I felt that everyday, all the time. I was a self–conscious, shy girl who wasn't ready for complex...show more content... I changed, with the help of family, friends, and therapists. I am ever thankful to them, and I have learned to appreciate the good things in life, the small ones. I know that being pessimistic is not the way to go. If we want to be strong and overcome the trials in our life that may hit us when we least expect it, we have to look at the silver lining, the 'bright side' of things. When all you think about are the events gone wrong in your life, why is that life worth living? Point is, it's better that you pull the thorns from your side as soon as you can, not to let them Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Turning Around My Worst Experience Essay Every person experience's both the good and the bad in their life. Most people whom have experienced the bad take it just as that, and don't see what the benefit could have been. In my life I experienced what some may say is the worst thing that could happen to a child. Do I agree? Of course, but only to an extent, I believe the worst experience in my life was also the best. Losing the only man in her life, her hero, her father and only at the young age of fifteen. There were so many different emotions that I was feeling, I didn't think that I was alone. I had an older sister named Tina at the age of eighteen that I thought would be my support. Yet I have been wrong, she dealt with it worst then I did and fell deeper down that I was. Now...show more content... I still barely spoke to anyone, I wasn't myself, and I wasn't the happy imaginative girl I once was. My sister was never home for days at a time, so I was all alone. One day her things are packed and my sister left, leaving me behind. I decided to move with my grandmother in Virginia and I figured maybe having someone there would help me cope much easier. It was all the same I was still sad, still depressed, and now I had no stable home. It was not working out at my grandmother's, I then moved in with my cousin in New Jersey for a few months. She was young with a daughter but seemed to never be home. There I met a new friend named Anthony, but where I was living just didn't seem to work, so I went back to my grandmother's in Virginia. When I was living with my grandmother I was in high school, seventeen years old now but the feeling of my father passing away was still there just like it happened yesterday. I've talked to my sister every now and then but barely. Luckily, I still had the friend that I've met while living with my cousin in New Jersey. There were many people in Virginia whom I could have been friends with and that I have talked to, but I didn't I chose to talk to him and only him. Anthony a very typical, common name yet he was anything but that to me. Every chance we've got we talked before school, after school, even texting during school. He was my joy when I spoke to him I didn't feel alone anymore, talking to him was my high; he made me laugh, and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. My Life Had Flipped Upside Down My life had flipped upside–down–literally. I looked to my right and saw only the blue sky outside the car window. I spoke out in a daze before instincts took over: "What just happened?" I climbed upwards and outwards through the window and in a moment of clarity my eyesight resolved to see my mom's car resting on its side. I realized my entire left arm was dripping with blood. My perception faded to a montage; I remember brief clips of an ambulance ride and being wheeled hurriedly through double doors on a gurney. I was greeted by a calm, young doctor. I was 16. At the time I could only think of two things–how this man was able to remain so calm after seeing the pulp my arm had become, and conversely, how out of control my mother would be over our ruined car. Little did I know that the calm guidance this doctor provided would be the first contribution toward my path to becoming a physician. I became utterly fascinated by medicine. This doctor had shown me the leadership that a physician can provide and I was determined to build that trait within myself. I took initiative and explored medicine during my undergraduate studies. After volunteering in the UC Davis operating room and observing many surgeries, I became convinced that the medical profession would be a great fit. I confirmed this at the UC Davis Spine Center. There, I befriended a resident whom I shadowed, and found myself excited to visit each patient and witness how she could effortlessly soothe each patient's Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. My Future Plans For The Future Imagine the perfect life, the perfect family, dream house, dream car, and the perfect career. That's what I hope someday my life will be like. Everyone has a future plan, to make the best out of our life, what is your plan? My future plan is to be a pediatrician. I would like to help the children of the future. They are the next generation and I would like to leave a legacy for them to follow. I want to help save and make a child happy someday. The thought of making a difference in someone's life is the reason I can go to sleep peacefully. We all have a purpose for being here and I my purpose is to save one of us, my purpose is to help the ones in need, the ones in the street begging for somewhere to live, the ones dying of poverty. However, right now in the 21st century technology has taken over the world, not figuratively but literally. It made the world, both a bad and good place. People are going to run out of jobs and tech will run the world. Technology will be the greatest invention of human kind but how will it affect some of us? First to begin with, Technology is part of our everyday lives. Every nook, every corner we turn there is someone with technology. In doing research it says technology is advancing so fast that it will be a thousand times more advanced in the next 10 years. From having no technology in the 1900s we are currently flourishing with technology every day, in our house there is at least 10 different items that are connected to the internet. • 13. Research Paper On My Hobbies With regards to my personal life, I have been particularly blessed to have experienced a joyful and easy–going life. I was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California and later moved to Ventura, a city just south of Santa Barbara. As a result, its safe to assume that I've been and will always be a California kid. The beach was walking distance away from my home and the weather was always warm and sunny. My family also have been pivotal in instilling a happy demeanor by always inculcating my psyche with positive attitudes coupled with kind and outgoing manners to people of all colors, creeds, and nationalities. Furthermore, I wouldn't that I have a wide array of hobbies, however I more so have a set of hobbies which I focus on at an extremely high level with a large degree of proficiency. To further explain, two hobbies that I particularly enjoy are creating and playing music, as well as writing. With regards to music, I have been playing guitar for over a year now, and I can honestly say it has had one of the most profound effects upon my life imaginable. Music offers the only outlet that I can fathom which can allow to forget about the world around me. All the problems I am having, all the issues of the world that can bog me down, are eliminated because once I pick up the guitar, I'm essentially one with the instrument, all the focus of my human psyche is upon the music being played and if it's particularly good, I'll maniacally write it down to preserve it. • 14. My Experience At A Museum I have visited countless museums in my lifetime, and throughout these experiences I have noticed a general pattern in the museum visitors. Often times they grant only a slight glance at the pieces, and allocate their energy in to taking pictures with the pieces rather than taking the time to learn about the art. On the contrary, I view museums as a place of learning, where culture is preserved and diversity is celebrated, where creativity is fostered and exploration is welcomed. My interest in interning at the Smithsonian Institution stems from the idea that museums are a place to gain knowledge. Through my experience as a docent at the WellinMuseum of Art at Hamilton College and leading tours for students and adults of various ages, I have seen the importance of a teaching museum, where the main goal is to educate. There is nothing more rewarding than helping kids learn about the world through the lens of art, or enlightening a trustee of the College about a work of their interest. The Smithsonian Institution's goal of increasing and diffusing knowledge parallels my ideal view of what a museum's values should entail. I aspire to intern at the Smithsonian in order to positively contribute and support the Institution's goals and values, and have a unique learning experience. As a sophomore at Hamilton College, I have had numerous internship experiences in the past. In the summer of 2016, I interned at the Albany District Attorney's Office. • 15. Essay On My Mentor There have been many people in my life that had served as a mentor to me. This one in particular has had the biggest impact on my life so far. He was my basketball coach, Coach Ham. Our relationship ever since the first day I saw him has always been good. We both met at the Euclid High School girl's gym. My sister had basketball practice that day and the coach wanted me to go up there too. When I walked into the gym, I saw him sitting in an athletic sports chair on the side yelling out plays to run to the other girls. After my sister, Rashida, introduced me to him, he asked me if I wanted to practice with them, probably because I had already had my basketball gear on from my previous practice at the middle school. I did and but didn't want to practice with them because they were all older than me. I thought I would not be able to keep up with the other girls and they would get angry at me or I would slow them down. After a lot...show more content... He is more than just a coach to me. He is like family, my friend, and my favorite coach in the whole world. He has been a significant impact on my life because he was the one that pushed me to the next level of life and basketball. He helped me become the person I am today. By teaching me that basketball is more than just a sport, he made me realize that it is something I really love and want to pursue as part of my career. I hope to be able to make it to the next level. He also helped to get a basketball scholarship at Eastern Michigan University. With his help, support, and encouraging words I can and will make it to the next level. Even though Coach Ham will not be with me through the next stage of life, I know that he will still be in my heart and mind. I can imagine him now in the stands at one of my basketball games in college screaming my name and all of his old sayings. I know he will be proud of me and we will support each other all the way til the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. My Experience As A Student Teacher Today's classroom is one of variety and challenge. I have seen first hand, in the classroom I observed this semester, the impact of various children's backgrounds. There were second graders from every walk of life and this diversity impacted how they interacted with each other, and, on some occasions, how the teacher interacted with them. When working with a group of children such as these, the educator must be aware of every aspect of diversity in their classroom. Diversity may come in many forms: academic achievement, race, language, or socioeconomic differences, and it may be difficult to address each of these needs individually. Regardless of these challenges, a successful teacher will have the ability to create an atmosphere which will turn the student's perceived "limitations" into their strongest ability. This what will keep them determined and ready to engage with the curriculum. My experiences as a student teacher showed me that the biggest barrier that I will have to surmount is finding a way to communicate the necessary information to my students so that they will learn and even thrive in my class. This is especially true when working in a low income area where students are worried about problems that are much bigger than school: where their next meal is coming from or how much money they can earn to help their family when they go to work that night. Such larger concerns will dwarf what happens in school, making homework seem irrelevant and/or impossible. With Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. The Turning Point in My Life Essay I was in my final year at high–school. I was only seventeen and the pressure of knowing that the outcome of school results would determine my whole life ahead finally got to me. I snapped. One day, in the absence of my parents, I ran away from home, hoping never to return. This was the turning point in my life. With an incomplete education on one hand, I was a lost soul, unaware of what to do or where to go. I ran into a group of people who claimed they could assist me out of this dark web I was now tangled in. They introduced me to drugs. Dosed with pills of heroin and cocaine, my life was tumbling downhill like a snowball, only gathering wrong as it rolled. It was those times where I was not...show more content... It was only a matter of time before I was caught and sentenced to nineteen years of imprisonment. The words of Gregory David Roberts described my situation as I felt it– "I was a revolutionary who lost his ideals in heroin, a philosopher who lost his integrity in crime and a poet who lost his soul in a maximum–security prison." Two years in jail and I escaped in broad daylight and took asylum in the jhopadis of Dharavi in Mumbai. I got involved in the mafia and started a business of smuggling guns and ammunition and counterfeiting money. The money I earned was enough to pay off any heart fancying a call to the police. I was a notoriously known figure now, and probably the most wanted person in the whole of the country. Everyday I met new people interested in my business. One day to my surprise a female entrepreneur came to my "office." She was gorgeous and from the moment I set my eyes on her I fell in love with her. She helped my business for six months and became a close part of my life until finally she betrayed me to the police. It seemed she was involved with them and did this for a sum of money. I was imprisoned again. It was here that I was chained beaten, stabbed and starved. I was at constant war with myself. Should I have done what I did? But it did not matter now. My companions lost sanity while I kept my nerve. I buried them and their lives into my own Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. My Reflection Of My Academic Journey In College I have changed a lot over the last two years. Relationships and attitudes have come and gone. However, I have always enjoyed learning. The pursuit of knowledge continues to be important to me and I feel like I have learned a lot in my college experience so far. My academic journey has shaped the way I look at myself, my moral understandings, and my view of happiness. In recent years, I have come to the conclusion that I am most definitely a creator. I enjoyed making items in high school and earlier, but I have realized in college that it is an essential part of who I am. Furthermore, to be a good creator, one must be a good critic. In my Honors seminars and other courses, we have read and analyzed many great works. The knowledge gained...show more content... Nothing can be perfect, but I strive for all of my works to be the closest it can get. I know now for sure that I am creator and it is what I always want to be. I believe I have become a better person over the last two years. Or, at least, as good as I will get. I have a lot more respect for other people than I used to. Before, I only surrounded myself with people that I thought would be useful later. It seems so horrible now. I went to a very large high school. People came in and out of my life at a rapid pace. There were several people at my graduation that I had not seen in years. I thought they literally dropped off the face of the Earth or just moved. There was little need to be a good person to people, because you would often never see them again. Here, I no longer have that luxury. I mean, that is good. It is now necessary to have a good relationship with people. I think it has certainly helped to have a group of classmates every year who have a common goal. Another conclusion I have drawn from my last few years is that every person has a moral obligation to be as knowledgeable as possible. My biggest pet peeve is stupid people who think they are smart. We are in the shape we are in today because of these people. I wish people would just admit when they do not know something. I do. I would never be seen entering a conversation about molecular biology and acting like an expert. I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. My Future Essay My future is something I often think about. Most often, the questions that arise include the common doubts of "Am I doing this right?", or even the occasional midnight philosophical questions such as "Why are we here?", and so on. For the purpose of this essay, I will focus on the factors that have allowed me to reach this point in my life and how these factors influenced and continue to influence me, in order to provide me with a visualization of my future. Factors that contributed to my current life choices include the desperate want to be something greater, as well as to experience the world in ways some could only dream of. I study hard, allowing for me to have the possibility of an early graduation. I dream big, allowing me with the imagination to draw up plans for myself and my future. I work hard, allowing me the strength and vision to execute my plans for the future. The way that I was raised has greatly benefited me. My parents have taught me that anything and everything is possible as long as you work hard for it despite the what others may tell you or even if the odds are against you. Another factor that led to my current life, is the amount of time I allow myself to think about my plans and refine them. This is extremely important because, without a solid, flexible, long–term plan, you could get lost in dreaming about the future, and end up not accomplishing anything. Hence, many aspects of my life have been planned out with not one or two possible alternatives Get more content on HelpWriting.net
