The Springboard+ upskilling initiative in higher
education offers free courses at certificate, degree
and masters level leading to qualifications in areas
where there are employment opportunities in the
economy.
Springboard+ is co-funded by the Government of
Ireland and the European Social Fund as part of the
ESF programme for employability, inclusion and
learning 2014-2020.
From May 2019 Springboard+ offers 9,000
places on over 280 courses leading to awards at
certificate, degree and post-graduate level. The
majority of courses are part-time for a maximum
of 12 months and are open to all applicants;
Employed, Unemployed, and Returners who
meet the eligibility criteria at the time of course
commencement.

Professional Studies Certificate in Digital
Technology, Design & Innovation (NFQ Level 7)
This programme emphasises cross-functional
team-working across four areas of specialisation. All
participants take a number of shared courses and
select one specialisation stream.
The Professional Studies Certificate in Digital
Technology, Design & Innovation leads to a
Professional Studies Certificate awarded by Boston
College. Boston College is accredited in the USA by
the New England Commission of Higher Education
(NECHE) which adheres to the standards of the
Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA),
also in the USA. Boston College is recognised as a
higher education institution by the International
Association of Universities (IAU).
This Professional Studies Certificate is comparable
to undergraduate awards offered at Level 7 on
the NFQ (National Framework of Qualifications)
according to advice given by NARIC Ireland. Final

This is a one-year, part-time programme leading to
a Boston College award of a 30 U.S. semester credit
hours Professional Studies Certificate in Digital
Technology, Design and Innovation (comparable
to a 60-ECTS award at level 7 on the Irish NFQ /
National Framework of Qualifications).
This programme has a global dimension:
Participants from 33 countries have enrolled on
similar programmes offered by Digital Skills Global
in the past three years, including from the UK,
France, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, South
Africa, UAE, Singapore and the U.S.
Offered nationally within Springboard+, the
12-month part-time programme blends online
eLearning and working in Virtual-teams with
online project workshops, online mentoring and
team-coaching, and includes project-based team
assignments with employers and industry partners.
During the programme, Participants can avail of
the opportunity to attend a number of workshops
and talks by industry guests at the Boston College
Ireland (BCI) campus on St Stephen’s Green in
Dublin. Each of these sessions will culminate in a
networking event. This will facilitate networking
between participants and with invitees from
industry.

The Professional Studies Certificate in Digital
Technology, Design & Innovation is offered by world
leading U.S. university Boston College. Boston
College have partnered with Digital Skills Global
(formerly Digital Skills Academy), a pioneer in
online digital education, to deliver one of Ireland’s
most exciting higher education programmes.
Designed to meet the demands of Ireland’s high-
growth internet and digital technology sectors,
this programme will equip participants with the
skills, experience and credentials to become digital
leaders and accelerate their career in this dynamic

with significant experience in industry, without

Core to this programme is providing participants
with training - and applied practice - to work in
collaborative, cross functional, online international
teams. This mode of team-working, which requires
the use of online collaboration tools, is one of the
critical components of the emerging workplace of
the future. In the programme, participant teams are
supported through online coaching and mentoring,
and are encouraged to adopt established best
practices to ensure effective online team-working,
and team-dynamics.
In addition, this programme is designed to cultivate
the participants’ quest for lifelong learning, where
adaptability and on-going skills education are key
to succeeding in the workplace of the future.
Digital Skills
New and emerging technologies are transforming
industries, and impacting professionals. Working
professionals are faced with integrating technology
to streamline tasks and foster collaboration which
requires the attainment of digital skills. This
programme is designed to provide participants
with the opportunity to learn, apply and perform
digital skills in a specialist digital area such as
project management, marketing, design or
application development.

Alongside developing core knowledge in Digital
Skills for participants, this programme seeks to:

Entry Requirements
A higher education level 6 major award (Higher Certificate) directly related to one
of the specific programme disciplines,
or;
A level 7 major award (ordinary degree) or higher in a discipline not directly
related to, but sharing aptitudes and skillsets with one of the specific programme
occupational roles.
Applicants with significant experience in industry, without a higher education
level 6 or 7 major award qualification may also be considered. Applicants who do
not meet the minimum entry requirements but with significant experience would
be considered for entry through RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)
This programme is available regardless of your employment status. It is free of
charge for applicants who fall under the Springboard+ ‘unemployed’ & ‘returners’
categories and there is a 10% contribution fee for applicants who are in the
‘employed’ category. Employed applicants have to contribute €630. The HEA will
fund the additional 90% of the fees for successful employed applicants.
Suitability Test
As part of our application process, participants will take a simple, online
suitability assessment for their chosen course and stream. Based on
their answers, this will confirm that participants have the skills and experience
required for a successful outcome. An online group interview may also be part of
the application process.
CV and Educational Transcripts
All applications must be accompanied with a recent CV and official copy of
educational transcipts. Not providing these documents will delay your application
and may result in not being offered a place on the programme.

Agile, User Experience Design &
Digital Project
Introduction
This course integrates theory and practice of
creating a Digital Project. Participants will be given
the skills to address a digital solution challenge
through the key skills of design thinking, agile and
key elements of user experience design. Participants
will also have to apply team-based learning,
collaboration and knowledge sharing techniques in
a broad role based multi-functional team.
Cross-Functional Digital Team
Project
Introduction
This course delivers advanced methods for
researching and scoping a project for a client based
on a challenging and potentially changing brief. It
moves through the required methods for identifying
client needs, capturing them and formulating a
scope of work and the associated research required
to get to this stage. Participants are required to
have an understanding of both the individual
and team roles required and how they work in
a multidisciplinary team. Course assessments
will challenge participants to bring research and
proposed technical solutions to the client at this
stage. They will have to devise adequate technical
and creative solutions adapted to the challenges of
the project.  They will have to interpret the needs
of the client who has delivered a complex brief that
may lack clear direction. Participants will also have
to apply team-based learning, collaboration and
knowledge sharing techniques in a broad role based
multi-functional team.

Digital Industries and Career
Development
Introduction
This course examines thought leaders in the digital space
and their impact on business and us as individuals. There
are a wealth of real world case examples throughout the
course which will aid participants in developing their
innovative thinking capability while at the same time
assessing what is believed to be best practice in today’s
ever changing digital world. The impact of digital on
business and leadership is always to the fore on this
course.
Digital Business Ethics
Introduction
This course provides participants with the fundamental
tools and frameworks to address the myriad of ethical
issues and concerns that are emerging from new
technology and the rise of digital platforms. Employees,
emerging leaders, and leaders will face ethical issues in
artificial intelligence, blockchain, and digital ecosystems.
Participants will apply historical ethical systems and
recent ethical thinking to these real-world scenarios,
issues, and problems.  It will be critical that the modern
professional be able to navigate these new ethical issues
in a thoughtful and deliberate manner and this course
will develop those skills.

Mobile & Web Applications
Introduction
This course adopts a mobile first approach to
client-side coding. It lets participants work
extensively with many of the most popular client-
side libraries and frameworks such as jQuery,
JQM, Angular and React. Participants have the
opportunity to code up a variety of client-side apps
that rely on third-party data and gain valuable
experience building a live-data driven mobile app.
Web & Device Programming I
Introduction	
This course covers programming concepts, algorithm
design, fundamental Internet protocols and server-side
programming. In this course, participants will work
on the back end of a web application to gain valuable
experience coding object-orientated PHP. It looks in
detail at the LAMP stack and how to understand the
various components of a modern web app.
Web & Device Programming II
Introduction
This course covers the client-side in order to understand
the browser at a fundamental level. It provides for
building client-side web apps in HTML, CSS and
JavaScript. It looks at the browser to understand the
inner workings of the object model. Once participants
are comfortable with basic principles, they move on to
consider the role of various client-side frameworks in a
modern web application.

Participants select one Specialisation Stream:
Digital Marketing Strategy and
Planning
Introduction
This course provides participants with the
fundamental skills to research and plan a
digital marketing strategy using digital channels
appropriate to the target audience and market to
achieve goals desirable by the business. This is
done by providing participants the opportunity
to demonstrate creativity, critical thinking,
judgement, and their problem-solving capabilities.
They will also develop the skills to contribute to
planning and implementing digital marketing
strategies.
Digital Business Analysis
Introduction
This course integrates theory and practice to
allow participants develop a practical overview
of business analysis in the digital business
environment. Participants will be equipped with
a range of problem-solving tools and techniques,
which support management in addressing a range
of common operational problems that arise in a
modern competitive business environment.
Technical Project Management
Introduction
The course analyses digital technology and
technical development strategies and processes.
It equips participants with the skills to manage
web, mobile, games and other digital development
projects. This is done by applying methodologies
for estimating projects, iteration, planning and
re-planning, tracking and retrospective project
reviews. Participants will develop these skills
through continuous project-based learning.
Participants will also study both hardware and
software platforms, building a knowledge base to
assist in strategic technology decision-making.

Specialisation Stream
Participant will gain in-depth experience in
Search Engine Optimisation, paid search via
Google AdWords and social media advertising via
platforms like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
Digital Marketing: Analytics
and Campaign Management
Introduction
On this course, participants will cover topics such
as keeping your digital marketing activities In-
house Vs outsourcing to an agency. Participants will
also cover affiliate marketing, display advertising
and Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) as well as
deep delving into Google Analytics to understand
how it and similar tools can track their marketing
efforts as well as inform their further marketing
decisions.

Introduction
This course provides participants with the

Specialisation Stream
Front End Web Development II
Introduction
Building on Front End Web Development I, this
course improves and extends the front-end apps
developed to include many of the exciting new
features of HTML5, as well as leveraging a variety
of front-end frameworks. Participants will work
with the jQuery library to optimise workflows and
quickly produce working prototypes of layouts and
designs.
Web Graphics Design and
Production
Introduction
This course provides participants with the skills to
develop proficiency in the practical use of graphics
design tools and software for use in mobile and
Web applications. Participants will acquire the skills
needed for the design, creation, and publishing
of graphics, images & text. They will develop an
understanding of how to apply templates designed
for localisation and international considerations.
Front End Web Development I
Introduction
This course consists of providing participants with
knowledge of in-demand, front-end languages
and libraries to design and build client-side apps.
They will gain excellent exposure to the newer
HTML5 features and learn how to integrate these
into applications. They will also analyse and
consider how best to optimise a client-side app and
understand its inner-workings.

Specialisation Stream
Further Study
Gaining 30 U.S. credits through successful
completion of this programme is comparable
to gaining 60 ECTS credits at NFQ (National
Framework of Qualifications) Level 7, and therefore
comparable to completing year 3 of a 4-year
honours degree.
On successful completion of this programme you
would thus be in a position to apply for entry into
the fourth year, or an ‘add-on year’, of an honours
degree programme in a similar or comparable field.

Application Requirements
User Experience and Solutions
Design
Introduction
Participants apply and evaluate the principles,
processes and international user experience
(UX) design best practice for digital solutions.
Participants will take a user-centred approach
to design, develop and present a prototype for a
solution that responds to user needs, developed
based on functional requirements and analysis,
data gathering, concept design and prototyping.
Participants taking this course will develop
their prototype through continuous project
work. The project work is undertaken as part of
a multidisciplinary team, using the latest online
sharing and collaboration tools as well as etiquette
and multi-cultural best practice methodologies.
Participants will analyse the evolution of digital
devices and responsive website design, exploring,
evaluating and researching the adaptive skills they
will need in this field in future.

Agile Project Management
Introduction
This course analyses the principles of Agile Project
Management and how to apply these principles
to development projects. A strong focus is on the
Scrum method and researching why agile teams
can perform to very high standards. The aim of this
course is to train participants to lead agile efforts
inside organisations. Exercises are based on real
world scenarios, applying agile principles in project
work.

Industry Project
Introduction
Participants will successfully complete a digital
product for the partner industry company. They will
work primarily in an online collaborative environment
designed to facilitate diverse international locations
and etiquette. Participants will work in teams on
‘live’ projects for selected businesses. Completing
a digital product includes all aspects of digital
production, including but not limited to analysis,
design, development, implementation, integration,
international system design best practice including
documentation, research and business value.
OR;
Cross Functional Team Digital
Entrepreneur Project
Introduction
Participants will use fundamental tools, and study
the key stages in developing a successful start-up.
Participants will evaluate numerous case studies and
academic research that emphasise lessons learned
by entrepreneurs who have gone before and helped
to highlight the characteristics of successful ventures
and management teams. Practical application of
hypothesis testing together with customer development
and business model design and evolution form the
cornerstones of this course. Participants will successfully
evaluate a concept that could lead to a start-up business
or critically research an area for potential digital
entrepreneurship for a start-up.

Introduction

Introduction	
This course introduces participants to digital
ecosystems and how they are extending the boundaries
of value creation beyond traditional industries.
Participants will be exposed to new concepts from a
coherent framework to understand, design and apply
new business models to effectively compete in digital
ecosystems. Participants will explore how digital native
companies have gained strength in digital ecosystems
through their platforms and how legacy companies
can apply those insights to build new business models
of their own. The course will also highlight how legacy
companies can extend their traditional products
and services into digital platforms, how to compete
as platforms, and the costs of not having a platform
strategy in the modern digital era.
Design Thinking for Business
Professionals
Introduction
Design Thinking introduces the participant to the
design approach to problem solving and innovation.
Participants are led through the journey of ideation,
creativity, rapid prototyping, and experimentation.
Design Thinking changes the way businesses approach

world, their industry, and their company. The
participant will begin to think through the
possibilities of AI in their organisation.

Introduction	
This course will teach you the fundamentals of Artificial
Intelligence (AI) as well as preparing you to recognise
opportunities to apply AI Applications within your
organisation. You will examine basic Machine Learning
models and develop an overview of the approaches

Leading Digital Transformation
Introduction
This course focuses on the organisational changes that
are required for harnessing the power of technology.
Participants are introduced to the concept of digital
maturity, cultivating a digital environment, enabling
intentional collaboration, and fostering an experimental
mind-set.
Mobile Web Applications
Introduction
This course introduces participants to the theory and
techniques required to build Mobile Web Applications.
Mobile Web Applications have significant constraints
and differences with respect to traditional web
development and this course will prepare the learner for
this style of development by focusing on best practices
and established methodologies.

Please note that a 10% course fee contribution for Level 7, 8, and 9 courses is applicable for employed participants. This is payable directly to the provider. Returners (Formerly referred to as Homemakers) May apply to all courses if they meet the nationality/visa requirement and residency criteria. Course specific criteria may also apply. The unemployed or formerly self-employed May apply to all courses with the exception of the two year part-time ICT conversion courses. Unemployed applicants will also be required to meet additional DEASP related criteria. They must have been in receipt of a recognised DEASP payment for 9 of the previous 12 months if they wish to participate on one-year full-time ICT Skills Conversion courses. Please note that documentation supporting applicant’s status will be required as part of the application process. Further proof confirming an applicant’s continued eligibility will also be required at the time of course commencement. The Springboard+ upskilling initiative in higher education offers free courses at certificate, degree and masters level leading to qualifications in areas where there are employment opportunities in the economy. Springboard+ is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF programme for employability, inclusion and learning 2014-2020. From May 2019 Springboard+ offers 9,000 places on over 280 courses leading to awards at certificate, degree and post-graduate level. The majority of courses are part-time for a maximum of 12 months and are open to all applicants; Employed, Unemployed, and Returners who meet the eligibility criteria at the time of course commencement. Programme Options Professional Studies Certificate in Digital Technology, Design & Innovation (NFQ Level 7) 12 Months, Online Part-Time Starts: 25 November 2019 Professional Studies Certificate in Digital Technology, Design & Innovation (NFQ Level 7) This programme emphasises cross-functional team-working across four areas of specialisation. All participants take a number of shared courses and select one specialisation stream. The Professional Studies Certificate in Digital Technology, Design & Innovation leads to a Professional Studies Certificate awarded by Boston College. Boston College is accredited in the USA by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) which adheres to the standards of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), also in the USA. Boston College is recognised as a higher education institution by the International Association of Universities (IAU). This Professional Studies Certificate is comparable to undergraduate awards offered at Level 7 on the NFQ (National Framework of Qualifications) according to advice given by NARIC Ireland. Final recognition decisions for the purposes of accessing further education and/or employment are made by education institutions, professional recognition bodies and employers. This is a one-year, part-time programme leading to a Boston College award of a 30 U.S. semester credit hours Professional Studies Certificate in Digital Technology, Design and Innovation (comparable to a 60-ECTS award at level 7 on the Irish NFQ / National Framework of Qualifications). This programme has a global dimension: Participants from 33 countries have enrolled on similar programmes offered by Digital Skills Global in the past three years, including from the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, South Africa, UAE, Singapore and the U.S. Offered nationally within Springboard+, the 12-month part-time programme blends online eLearning and working in Virtual-teams with online project workshops, online mentoring and team-coaching, and includes project-based team assignments with employers and industry partners. During the programme, Participants can avail of the opportunity to attend a number of workshops and talks by industry guests at the Boston College Ireland (BCI) campus on St Stephen’s Green in Dublin. Each of these sessions will culminate in a networking event. This will facilitate networking between participants and with invitees from industry. About This Programme The Professional Studies Certificate in Digital Technology, Design & Innovation is offered by world leading U.S. university Boston College. This mode of team-working, which requires the use of online collaboration tools, is one of the critical components of the emerging workplace of the future. In the programme, participant teams are supported through online coaching and mentoring, and are encouraged to adopt established best practices to ensure effective online team-working, and team-dynamics. In addition, this programme is designed to cultivate the participants’ quest for lifelong learning, where adaptability and on-going skills education are key to succeeding in the workplace of the future. Digital Skills New and emerging technologies are transforming industries, and impacting professionals. Working professionals are faced with integrating technology to streamline tasks and foster collaboration which requires the attainment of digital skills. This programme is designed to provide participants with the opportunity to learn, apply and perform digital skills in a specialist digital area such as project management, marketing, design or application development. Entry Requirements A higher education level 6 major award (Higher Certificate) directly related to one of the specific programme disciplines, or; A level 7 major award (ordinary degree) or higher in a discipline not directly related to, but sharing aptitudes and skillsets with one of the specific programme occupational roles. Applicants with significant experience in industry, without a higher education level 6 or 7 major award qualification may also be considered. Applicants who do not meet the minimum entry requirements but with significant experience would be considered for entry through RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) This programme is available regardless of your employment status. It is free of charge for applicants who fall under the Springboard+ ‘unemployed’ & ‘returners’ categories and there is a 10% contribution fee for applicants who are in the ‘employed’ category. Employed applicants have to contribute €630. The HEA will fund the additional 90% of the fees for successful employed applicants. Suitability Test As part of our application process, participants will take a simple, online suitability assessment for their chosen course and stream. Based on their answers, this will confirm that participants have the skills and experience required for a successful outcome. An online group interview may also be part of the application process.   • 8. Agile, User Experience Design & Digital Project Introduction This course integrates theory and practice of creating a Digital Project. Participants will be given the skills to address a digital solution challenge through the key skills of design thinking, agile and key elements of user experience design. Participants will also have to apply team-based learning, collaboration and knowledge sharing techniques in a broad role based multi-functional team. Cross-Functional Digital Team Project Introduction This course delivers advanced methods for researching and scoping a project for a client based on a challenging and potentially changing brief. It moves through the required methods for identifying client needs, capturing them and formulating a scope of work and the associated research required to get to this stage. Participants are required to have an understanding of both the individual and team roles required and how they work in a multidisciplinary team. Course assessments will challenge participants to bring research and proposed technical solutions to the client at this stage. They will have to devise adequate technical and creative solutions adapted to the challenges of the project.  They will have to interpret the needs of the client who has delivered a complex brief that may lack clear direction. Participants will also have to apply team-based learning, collaboration and knowledge sharing techniques in a broad role based multi-functional team. Shared Courses Digital Industries and Career Development Introduction This course examines thought leaders in the digital space and their impact on business and us as individuals. There are a wealth of real world case examples throughout the course which will aid participants in developing their innovative thinking capability while at the same time assessing what is believed to be best practice in today’s ever changing digital world. The impact of digital on business and leadership is always to the fore on this course. Digital Business Ethics Introduction This course provides participants with the fundamental tools and frameworks to address the myriad of ethical issues and concerns that are emerging from new technology and the rise of digital platforms. Employees, emerging leaders, and leaders will face ethical issues in artificial intelligence, blockchain, and digital ecosystems. Participants will apply historical ethical systems and recent ethical thinking to these real-world scenarios, issues, and problems.  It will be critical that the modern professional be able to navigate these new ethical issues in a thoughtful and deliberate manner and this course will develop those skills. 8© Copyright Digital Skills Global.   • 9. Mobile & Web Applications Introduction This course adopts a mobile first approach to client-side coding. It lets participants work extensively with many of the most popular client- side libraries and frameworks such as jQuery, JQM, Angular and React. Participants have the opportunity to code up a variety of client-side apps that rely on third-party data and gain valuable experience building a live-data driven mobile app. Web & Device Programming I Introduction This course covers programming concepts, algorithm design, fundamental Internet protocols and server-side programming. In this course, participants will work on the back end of a web application to gain valuable experience coding object-orientated PHP. It looks in detail at the LAMP stack and how to understand the various components of a modern web app. Web & Device Programming II Introduction This course covers the client-side in order to understand the browser at a fundamental level. It provides for building client-side web apps in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It looks at the browser to understand the inner workings of the object model. Once participants are comfortable with basic principles, they move on to consider the role of various client-side frameworks in a modern web application. Digital Marketing Strategy and Planning Introduction This course provides participants with the fundamental skills to research and plan a digital marketing strategy using digital channels appropriate to the target audience and market to achieve goals desirable by the business. This is done by providing participants the opportunity to demonstrate creativity, critical thinking, judgement, and their problem-solving capabilities. They will also develop the skills to contribute to planning and implementing digital marketing strategies. Digital Business Analysis Introduction This course integrates theory and practice to allow participants develop a practical overview of business analysis in the digital business environment. Participants will be equipped with a range of problem-solving tools and techniques, which support management in addressing a range of common operational problems that arise in a modern competitive business environment. Technical Project Management Introduction The course analyses digital technology and technical development strategies and processes. It equips participants with the skills to manage web, mobile, games and other digital development projects. This is done by applying methodologies for estimating projects, iteration, planning and re-planning, tracking and retrospective project reviews. Participants will develop these skills through continuous project-based learning.   • 11. Participant will gain in-depth experience in Search Engine Optimisation, paid search via Google AdWords and social media advertising via platforms like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Digital Marketing: Analytics and Campaign Management Introduction On this course, participants will cover topics such as keeping your digital marketing activities In- house Vs outsourcing to an agency. Participants will also cover affiliate marketing, display advertising and Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) as well as deep delving into Google Analytics to understand how it and similar tools can track their marketing efforts as well as inform their further marketing decisions. Digital Marketing Strategy and Planning Introduction This course provides participants with the fundamental skills to research and plan a digital marketing strategy using digital channels appropriate to the target audience and market to achieve goals desirable by the business. This is done by providing participants the opportunity to demonstrate creativity, critical thinking, judgement, and their problem-solving capabilities. Digital Marketing: Search and Social Introduction On this course, participants will delve deep into how to perform digital marketing research and allocate budgets based on that research. Front End Web Development II Introduction Building on Front End Web Development I, this course improves and extends the front-end apps developed to include many of the exciting new features of HTML5, as well as leveraging a variety of front-end frameworks. Participants will work with the jQuery library to optimise workflows and quickly produce working prototypes of layouts and designs. Web Graphics Design and Production Introduction This course provides participants with the skills to develop proficiency in the practical use of graphics design tools and software for use in mobile and Web applications. Participants will acquire the skills needed for the design, creation, and publishing of graphics, images & text. They will develop an understanding of how to apply templates designed for localisation and international considerations. Front End Web Development I Introduction This course consists of providing participants with knowledge of in-demand, front-end languages and libraries to design and build client-side apps. They will gain excellent exposure to the newer HTML5 features and learn how to integrate these into applications. They will also analyse and consider how best to optimise a client-side app and understand its inner-workings. Further Study Gaining 30 U.S. credits through successful completion of this programme is comparable to gaining 60 ECTS credits at NFQ (National Framework of Qualifications) Level 7, and therefore comparable to completing year 3 of a 4-year honours degree. On successful completion of this programme you would thus be in a position to apply for entry into the fourth year, or an ‘add-on year’, of an honours degree programme in a similar or comparable field.   • 17. User Experience and Solutions Design Introduction Participants apply and evaluate the principles, processes and international user experience (UX) design best practice for digital solutions. Participants will take a user-centred approach to design, develop and present a prototype for a solution that responds to user needs, developed based on functional requirements and analysis, data gathering, concept design and prototyping. Participants taking this course will develop their prototype through continuous project work. The project work is undertaken as part of a multidisciplinary team, using the latest online sharing and collaboration tools as well as etiquette and multi-cultural best practice methodologies. Participants will analyse the evolution of digital devices and responsive website design, exploring, evaluating and researching the adaptive skills they will need in this field in future. OR; Agile Project Management Introduction This course analyses the principles of Agile Project Management and how to apply these principles to development projects. A strong focus is on the Scrum method and researching why agile teams can perform to very high standards. The aim of this course is to train participants to lead agile efforts inside organisations. Exercises are based on real world scenarios, applying agile principles in project work. Shared Courses AND; Cross Functional Team Digital Industry Project Introduction Participants will successfully complete a digital product for the partner industry company. They will work primarily in an online collaborative environment designed to facilitate diverse international locations and etiquette. Participants will work in teams on ‘live’ projects for selected businesses. Completing a digital product includes all aspects of digital production, including but not limited to analysis, design, development, implementation, integration, international system design best practice including documentation, research and business value. OR; Cross Functional Team Digital Entrepreneur Project Introduction Participants will use fundamental tools, and study the key stages in developing a successful start-up. Participants will evaluate numerous case studies and academic research that emphasise lessons learned by entrepreneurs who have gone before and helped to highlight the characteristics of successful ventures and management teams. Practical application of hypothesis testing together with customer development and business model design and evolution form the cornerstones of this course. You’ll learn about different online business models and how to create a customer value proposition that meets market needs. Digital Ecosystems Strategy Introduction This course introduces participants to digital ecosystems and how they are extending the boundaries of value creation beyond traditional industries. Participants will be exposed to new concepts from a coherent framework to understand, design and apply new business models to effectively compete in digital ecosystems. Participants will explore how digital native companies have gained strength in digital ecosystems through their platforms and how legacy companies can apply those insights to build new business models of their own. The course will also highlight how legacy companies can extend their traditional products and services into digital platforms, how to compete as platforms, and the costs of not having a platform strategy in the modern digital era. Design Thinking for Business Professionals Introduction Design Thinking introduces the participant to the design approach to problem solving and innovation. Participants are led through the journey of ideation, creativity, rapid prototyping, and experimentation. Artificial Intelligence: AI Innovation for Business Professionals Introduction This course focuses on the opportunities for businesses to innovate using artificial intelligence. While technology will be discussed, the course is decidedly not a technical course. It is designed for the business professional, emerging leader, and leader who wants to better understand the implications and impact of AI on the business world, their industry, and their company. The participant will begin to think through the possibilities of AI in their organisation. Artificial Intelligence: AI Applications Introduction This course will teach you the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as well as preparing you to recognise opportunities to apply AI Applications within your organisation. You will examine basic Machine Learning models and develop an overview of the approaches used to solve complex real world problems with AI Applications. Leading Digital Transformation Introduction This course focuses on the organisational changes that are required for harnessing the power of technology. Participants are introduced to the concept of digital maturity, cultivating a digital environment, enabling intentional collaboration, and fostering an experimental mind-set. Mobile Web Applications Introduction This course introduces participants to the theory and techniques required to build Mobile Web Applications.
