Designing websites for mobile devices requires the site’s content to be minimalized to the most essential functions and features or in other words, focused. The site’s content must also be presented in a user-friendly way, to compensate for the smaller screen sizes and smaller keyboard layouts that are on mobile devices.
The site’s content should adhere to these simple web design rules when thinking about what content you should be added to your mobile site. The standard screen size for mobile phones is 320 x 480 pixels and tablets require a fluid design.
Using a vertical navigation instead of a horizontal navigation allows for a more accurate click and using bars, tabs, and buttons for hypertext gives the user precision. Text and graphics for mobile devices should be optimized for their lightest file size.
HTML 5 is the current technology that can be used to make your website accessible on all devices.HTML5 has added new elements like section tags, article tags and video tags to its language and has added search engine optimization to those tags. One of the limitations of HTML 5 is that not all browsers support it. This revision of the html language is currently in the draft stage.
