Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education
A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children
gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life.
Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to
explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children
to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their
educational journeys in a meaningful way. I hope to provide the children in my classroom an
accessible, inclusive and resource rich learning environment.

Inclusion
A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels
included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel
included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the
attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn
about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should
also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students.
Resources
Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a
parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies
including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important
to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the
classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as
complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix
the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be
empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration.
Future Classroom
My goal is to make my classroom a learning environment where all students can be

Title of Speech: Mental Health Speaker Role/ Audience: Advocate the importance of addressing
mental health in schools. Thesis: Mental health is one of the largest problems students face on a
daily basis, and in order to best help them, we need to implement serious and frequent discussions
about mental health. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– INTRO: Attention
Getting Device: Every year, about 42.5 million American adults (or 18.2 percent of the total adult
population in the United States) suffers from some mental illness, enduring conditions such as
depression, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, statistics reveal. (newsweek.com) Purpose/Thesis:
To persuade you all the importance of including mental health awareness in schools. Credibility: I
have dealt with anxiety my entire life. Because I was not aware of what I had for so long and I
did not have any help, I suffered and so did multiple aspects of my academic career. Justification:
"The answer, based on the prevalence of mental illness globally, is stunning: 8 million people die
each year due to mental illness. That is, 8 million deaths could be averted if people with mental
illness were to die at the same rate as the general population." (NIMH) Preview of Main Points:
Today I will show you the dangers of not explicitly discussing mental health in school, what students
will gain from discussing mental health, and inform you what you can do to make this happen.
Transition: First, let us discuss the danger of not including mental health in students' education.
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– BODY: Need: According to nami.org,
approximately 1 in 5 youth aged 13–18 (21.4%) experiences a severe mental disorder at some point
during their life. For children aged 8–15, the estimate is 13%. Research has found that about 90% of
individuals who die by suicide experience a mental illness. Social anxiety affects about 15 million
individuals across America, most cases start around the age of 13. They often suffer anxiety,
difficulty focusing and social challenges. Half of them drop out of high school, in part because many
schools don't manage to meet their needs. (pbs.org) Although mental health illnesses affects so many
kids aged 6–17, a least

Persuasive Essay On Suicide
In today's society, suicide can be a multifaceted issue, sometimes an act of heroism, selfishness,
love, or a brave choice. I am arguing against suicide because it is not a solution to a problem, it
should not even be included as an option. Suicide is simply defined as "the deliberate taking of
one's own life, usually the result of a psychiatric disorder, although sometimes deliberated in the face
of life–threatening physical illness, significant interpersonal stress, or when under the influence of
one or more substances of abuse" (Piotrowski). This topic interests me because of the fact that the
rates are increasing year after year and it can happen to someone close to me at any moment. This
topic should interest you too because someone close to you can show warning signs, which can be
subtle or more discernible. Also if you are reading this as a parent, you should know "suicide is the
third leading cause of death for those between the ages of ten and fourteen, and it is the second
leading cause of death for those ages fifteen to thirty–four" (Goff). Yet the factors that play into a
someone's decision is anything but simple. The most obvious and severe effect of suicide is the loss
of a meaningful, valuable human life. "In the United States in 2013, according to the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 41,149 individuals committed suicide and approximately
494,169 received medical treatment for self–inflicted injuries. The World Health Organization
(WHO) reported an estimated 800,000 suicides worldwide in 2016, and suicide is the second
leading cause of death among fifteen– to twenty–nine–year–olds worldwide. Women attempt suicide
more often than men, but men complete suicide more often than women because men tend to use
more lethal means, such as a firearm" (Piotrowski). With suicide rates on a continuous rise in
America, society must ask what can be done to save lives.
The main argument against suicide is that it is selfish, which is true. By you killing yourself, it
causes a lot of pain to those left behind, like your family, loved ones, friends, etc. They tend to
blame themselves for your death. Even if you feel like nobody in the whole world cares about you,
you are wrong. When you think

In paragraph 8 Chief Justice says, "They are not merely made acquainted with the flag salute so
that they may be informed as to what it is or even what it means." I believe he is correct. The
Jehovah's Witness should not run to conclusion and do the pledge of allegiance, they should
understand the meaning of it first, then if they still don't seem okay with it, they should consider
leaving public school.
Now you decide. Which argument was more sound, the majority opinion or the dissent? Argue in
favor of one or the other in a short persuasive essay of about 300 words.

School has always been a safe haven for children to learn and grow, not only as students, but as
individuals as well. However, as we grow older, school becomes more of a tedious task, rather
than a fun place to go to. From standardized tests, to finals and midterms, school weighs down on
us as a heavy burden. It has been under heavy debate on whether or not the school day is long
enough. Generally starting at 8 A.M. , and finishing around 3 P.M. , the school day lasts around
seven hours, for kindergarten through twelfth grade. Many people believe that the day needs to
be longer in order to fit in all of the material students need to learn. However, would making the
day longer really benefit anyone? With a longer school day, students would be getting less sleep
than they already do and the time being added would not be used in beneficial ways. A longer
school day is not only a bad idea, but is detrimental to the health and learning of students. To begin,
one of the main reasons that the school day should not be extended, is based on the fact that
students will not be getting enough sleep. Mary Carskadon, a professor of psychiatry and human
behavior at Brown University, wrote in her article "Let Students Sleep" that "many adolescents are
already in trouble because they get too little sleep." With a seven hour school day alone, students are
already struggling to get to bed at a reasonable hour, due to sports, extracurriculars, homework, and
day–to–day activities. Carskadon notes that good sleep "enhances" and "amplifies" what is learned
the day before. Students running on less hours of sleep not only perform badly in school, but tend to
forget or struggle to recall what they've learned. To make the school day longer, it would either have
to start earlier, forcing students to wake up earlier, or finish later, pushing extracurriculars and
homework later into the night. Students running on less sleep struggle to recall what they learned
and stay awake in school; thus, with a longer school day, students will be spending time trying to not
fall asleep rather than learning new, important material. As one can clearly tell, extending the school
day will be detrimental to the health of students. Continuing on, many

Love is a beautiful thing. It makes people happy. It can change a person, and show someone
things that they never knew about themselves. It lifts one up, knowing there is always someone
who will stand by their side through anything. It brings people together, and makes the world a
better place. Some people may disagree; they might think love is just a fantasy. Either way, it is a
fantasy that everyone deserves to dream of and experience in all its glory, whether straight, lesbian,
gay, bisexual, or transgender. However, not all people are so accepting of love when it is not in the
form that they are familiar with, or is not demonstrated in ways that they think are proper. This can
be easily seen in society's treatment of non–heterosexuals,...show more content...
Yes, the legal definition ofmarriage includes that it is between one man and one woman. This
definition is not fair. Marriage should be about powerful love and support, despite the genders of the
two recipients.
Minnesota republican Wheelock Whitney, who ran for governor and senator in past years, wrote an
editorial on his support for gay marriage in the Star Tribune last month. He said: "Gay men and
lesbians are among the most talented people out there. Needless and hurtful laws [banning same–sex
marriage] drive them away. They also drive away innovative people of any sexual orientation who
simply want to live in a place that respects and celebrates the diversity of life." He continued by
saying: "my happiness has never depended on depriving others of their happiness. My marriage
has never needed the exclusion of others from marriage. I am not threatened by seeing others find
love and celebrate it." Gays are normal people just like anyone else, who struggle with their
identities and live in search of success, love, and happiness. Prejudiced laws banning same–sex
marriage needlessly keep these people from natural human desires. No damage is done to society by
letting same–sex couple marry and lead more content, loving lives. If anything, it makes our country
a better, happier place.
While adult non–heterosexuals are regularly discriminated against via their denied access from legal
marriage, those much younger face constant discrimination

As we are nearing our destination our bus driver yells out "I am going to stop at this gas station
and fill up." When our bus driver came back onto the bus he exclaimed "The gas station is out of
gasoline so we will stay here overnight." Then, everyone in the bus started grunting and moaning.
"But guys we can make this fun if we tell stories to pass the time, Here, I will start." I said. And we
began telling each other our stories. "Can we please adopt this one, Mom? Pretty please, he is so
cute! With his bright green eyes and his pink little nose," said Jacob, a thirteen year old boy with
red hair. "After this we will be pretty much bankrupt," said Jacob's mom, with her deep blue eyes
staring into Jacob's "Please just this one thats all," said Jacob "Ok but promise me that you will take
responsibility of him by taking care of him," said Jacob's mom. And they strutted to the individual
behind the counter. When they got back home with their new puppy they decided to name him Spot
due to a cinnamon–colored spot on his back. The next morning, when Jacob woke up he noticed
that Spot's nose is not the same shade of pink. In fact, it is quite pale. "Mom we need to take spot
to the vet now!" screamed Jacob wistfully. "Ok, I will get Spot while you get in the car," replied
Mom. When they got to their destination, Jacob sprinted out of the car and went to the vet's office
and almost immediately the vet said "Spot is going to need surgery, do you have insurance?" "No,

Persuasive Narrative Essay
Have you ever had one of those days where you never wanted it to end? All the joy comes spilling
out of you and you don't want it to stop? Well, that was the day I didn't know I had. As I roused
out of my sleep, I heard somebody rushing up the stairs and opening my door. " Arlene, wake up we
have to leave soon!" My mom bellowed as I started to lift the blue blanket off myself. We were going
to California today and I couldn't wait! I went and packed my toothbrush, glasses, contacts, and
whatever else I needed. As I rushed downstairs, I smelled the eggs my mom was making us as I
gave my luggage to my dad. I couldn't wait for this adventure to begin, but I didn't know how
much fun I would really have! "Please fasten your seatbelt the plane is about to land," the flight
attendant addressed over the loudspeaker. I squealed as I put my headphones away and turned my
phone off. "Ahhhh, I can't believe we're about to land!" I told Armaan. While the plane was
landing, we saw the Hollywood Sign, buildings, many hills, and not to mention palm trees! "Wow,
look at this view!" I exclaimed as the plane started to dart down at full speed. Finally, we were here.
As soon as I got out I felt a nice breeze, and I started to make my way out of the plane and to the
baggage area. "I can't believe we're here!" Armaan beamed while my dad went to go pick up a car.
We found our bags and headed outside when the hot sun blazed right at me. "Mom, Dad can we go
to The Grove first I really want to go?"

Writing A Persuasive Essay
It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good
essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a
passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I
have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with
an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of
school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of
passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First
things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless...show more content...
You'll get this definition: "The writer takes a stand on an issue–either "for" or "against"–and builds
the strongest possible argument to win over the reader. In a persuasive essay, it's the writer's job
to convince the reader to accept a particular point of view or take a specific action." Along with a
bunch of How Tos. I've have taken a stand that is very passive–aggressive, on why I can't write this
essay. I know what you're thinking, this is ridiculous. Just think of it like this, as you sit there
reading me ramble on and give excuses. You're starting to listen. Yes, you have been in my spot
before, lack of passion words don't form right and you're just not clear enough. I see the irony here,
this very essay, it contradicts itself. A persuasive essay on why I can't write a persuasive essay. In
the end it's genius, I'm not faking an opinion or sing someone's thoughts. You might have considered
this option before but it seemed too stupid. You looked up prompt after prompt. Nothing. When you

reworded someone else's essay. You've even considered turning in nothing, I mean what's the point

Persuasive Essay About Friendship
When I was in pre–school, I formed a conspiracy in order to become the friend of this one girl in
my class. From that point on, friendship had always been this equation–esque problem to solve. It
always was highly difficult to find someone to connect with on a platonic level. I was extremely
socially anxious and had no idea of how to actually make friends. All of my healthiest and most
successful friendships were not made through my previous methods, but were all rather happy
accidents. However, luck combined with mutual characteristics are not the only aspects of
friendships with which one concerns his or herself. When making a friend, one is bound to lose a
part of themselves in that other person. This happens when a person makes any sort of devotion to
the other, whether miniscule of utmost importance. Whether or not this predicament is negative or
positive depends on the part they lose. A negative predicament may include the loss of good habits
and demeanors replaced by destructive or unhealthy behavior. A positive situation may include one
person being a sort of foil to the other's personality. For example, one friend may lack social skills,
but has confidence in his or herself while the other friend might be highly gregarious but has deep
sated insecurities. While in a good, healthy friendship, they start to lose the parts that may be lacking
and pick up those that better show the other facets of their personality. The friendship is not based on
mutual benefits, but

Supreme Court Persuasive Essay
Theodore Roosevelt once said, "The President and the Congress are all very well in their way. They
can say what they think they think, but it rests with the Supreme Court to decide what they have
really thought." (Roosevelt) This quote summarizes brilliantly the true importance of Marbury vs.
Madison. Prior to this famous Supreme Court case, the Supreme Court had not truly cemented itself
in the eyes of the American people. With this decision, the Supreme Court made the bold statement
that whatever they decided, would always make them the most powerful court in the country.
On February 17, 1801, Thomas Jefferson was elected to be the third president of the United States.
Even though he was elected then, Jefferson would not actually take office until March 4, 1801.
Current President John Adams was on his way out of office and wanted to ensure that the
incoming candidate of the opposing party would have as little power as possible. To do this, on
March 3, 1801, Madison appointed 42 Federal justices of the peace and 16 Federal circuit judges.
This was all a result of the Judiciary Act of 1801. These appointments had to be delivered by hand
to the appointees and they attempted to deliver all of them by the end of the day on March 3, 1801.
When President Thomas Jefferson took office the next day, he instructedJames Madison to halt the
deliveries of the remaining appointments. As such, William Marbury decided to sue James Madison
for not giving him his official appointment. The case was brought to the Supreme Court and they
decided on February 24, 1803 that Madison was in his right to refuse delivery of the appointment.

Persuasive Essay On Human Life
As said by one of the most well know American fiction authors, Dr. Seuss, "A person is a person,
no matter how small" ("A Quote from Horton Hears a Who!"). The context of this famous quote
teaches, in just nine words, the importance of human life. No matter how small the human is, the
right of living should not be taken away. This applies to those who have not experienced life
outside of the womb as well. Within 24 hours of conception, the fertilized egg starts to rapidly
mature into the cells with a unique genetic identity of the new human being. At the moment of
conception a new life begins ("Fetal Development: Stages of Growth."). However, there are those
individuals who disagree and believe that a life not born has the right to die. The option of abortion
should be revoked because it is seen as inhumane murder, the procedures are done in ruthless ways,
and it can result in medical complications for the patient.
The killing of an innocuous human being is wrong, even if that human being is yet to be born.
What is the difference between purposely exterminating a baby from its home when they are 30
weeks old in the womb, and purposely killing a premature baby in the hospital when they are 30
weeks old? In both situations the innocent baby is in a home, the only difference is the home they
are in [Hypophora]. But the location of the child should not determine whether or not it is acceptable
to kill a human being. According to Merriam–Webster Dictionary, the definition of murder is "the
crime of unlawfully killing a person especially with malice aforethought" ("Murder"). This
description of murder can relate to the Merriam–Webster Dictionary definition of abortion, which is
"the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death
of the embryo or fetus" ("Abortion"). Both definitions describe the act of a planned death to a
harmless human. The terminology and connotation also show the severity of the act. Although some
may say that life doesn't begin at conception, there are other ways to go about correcting a "mistake"
as some might call an unplanned child.
The merciless ways of abortion procedures are graphic, unforgiving, permanent [Anaphora].The three

Persuasive Essay About Psychology
Imagine that a friend of yours heard that you were taking a psychology class. Your friend asks
you. "Why are you wasting your time with that class? I never took a psych class but it seems like
a waste of time. It seems like other fields are more important." Write a short dialogue where you
either agree or disagree with your friend about the importance of psychology. In your dialogue,
include at least two pieces of evidence that support your argument. Friend: I heard you are taking a
psychology class.
Me: Yeah! Why?
Friend: Why are you wasting your time with that class? I never took a psych class but it seems like
a waste of time. It seems like other fields are more important.
Me: You can think what you wish, but the psychology field has many different branches that are
beneficial to society. In psychology, we have learned many different tools that could be used in the
real world.
Friend: Like what?
Me: First, psychology has many different roots and main schools of thought. A few of them are
behaviorism, cognitive, humanistic, and neuroscience.
Friend: Well, how does that make psychology more important than other fields?
Me: The main schools of thought look into many different aspects of the brain, behavior and other
things of that nature. I think that it is very helpful to understand and know how people function,
think, and act, especially because we all have to live together.
Friend: Okay. I see where you're coming from but I am not sure I can fully agree with you

Persuasive Essay On Drug Addiction
Drug addiction is a complex problem in society today. Addiction is a condition that extremely affects
the person's mind and body. Addiction also has wide sweeping effects on that person's social
connection and functioning. Unfortunately, many addicts don't realize the social influence of their
addiction until much of their functioning has greatly deteriorated.
Addiction is a "chronic disease characterized by drug seeking and use that is compulsive, or difficult
to control, despite harmful consequences." The initial decision to take drugs is voluntary for most
individuals, but frequent drug use can lead to brain alterations that challenge an addicted person's
self–control and interfere with their ability to resist intense urges to take drugs. These brain
alterations can be persistent, which is why drug addiction is considered a "relapsing" disease. People
in recovery from drug use disorders are at increased threat for returning to drug use even after years
of not taking the drug. It's common for an individual to relapse, but relapse doesn't mean that
treatment doesn't work. As with other chronic health conditions, treatment should be constant and
should be adjusted based on how the patient answers. Treatment plans need to be reviewed often and
modified to fit the patient's changing desires.
Although it is true that for most people the initial decision to take drugs is voluntary, over time the
changes in the brain caused by frequent drug abuse can impair a person's self–discipline and ability
to make sound judgements, and at the same time create an intense impulse to take drugs. It is
because of these alterations in the brain that it is so puzzling for a person to stop abusing drugs.
Luckily, there are treatments that help people to neutralize addiction's powerful disruptive effects
and regain control of their lives. Study shows that combining addiction treatment medications, when
suitable, with behavioral therapy is the best way to ensure success for most patients. Treatment
approaches that are custom–made to each patient's drug abuse patterns and any concurrent medical,
psychiatric, and social problems can help achieve sustained recovery and a life without drugs. The
alcohol abuse definition is similar

Persuasive Essay About Friendship
Trying to find a good friend is like finding a four–leaf clover; it's hard to find, but lucky to have. The
term friendship is a unique bond between two individuals–whether it's a charming boy and a geeky
girl, an elder woman and a young adult, or even between a cat and a dog. Friendship takes no form,
instead it is the individual trust toward others. Dating back to the creation of the human species,
people were familiar with the idea of companionship, in addition of being a companion, it relies on a
sense of comfort and protection. Presently, people still share that bond of comfort and protection
toward others, but the term companionship has changed into what is now known today as friendship.
The world is currently evolving into a digital era, a generation where everyone and everything are
connected by the power of computers, including meeting new people across the world where it's
impossible to meet in person. However, even though it's easily accessible to make friends online, it
can never favor those who live locally. The reason why is because in the digital world, people are
highly deceptive and are limited in communication while in comparison to those who lives locally.
However, it isn't wrong to make friends online, even though, some of them are misleading. It's more
suitable to have friends locally as they have better communication efficiency, living proof of actual
identity, and as well of physically spending quality time together.
Friends who live locally often have

Stepping Out Of Your Comfort Zone
Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone
Many immigrants come to the United States in pursuit of opportunity, however they struggle to
adopt the dominant culture's language, which limits the job opportunities available to them.
Historically, immigrants assimilated by having to learn dominant language, but this challenge led
them to create ethnic enclaves that make them feel more welcomed. Many enclaves in the United
States, for example the Latino population in San Francisco's Mission District, give a sense of
comfort and nostalgia of home because people from that community have similarities to their
homeland. Newcomers do not need to step out of their enclave because they have all the support
they need in their communities. Although many immigrants come to the United States in hope of
opportunity, they are limited to achieving and moving forward because of their ethnic enclaves.
Because these enclaves do not allow them to expand into different cultures, they are limited both
socially and economically.
Within ethnic communities, there are a huge number of people who face language barriers that
prevents them from seeking employment outside of their ethnic community. People within these
ethnic enclaves do not feel the need to learn the dominant language, because the majority of the
population with their community speaks the same language as they do. Places like San Francisco's
China town has established their own enclave that includes everything from grocery shops to
hospitals. This

Persuasive Essay On Change In Life
Life is a whirlwind of events, situations, and lessons all wrapped into one. There is no one way to
live life correctly or to the greatest ability because each individual has a different perception of it.
Throughout the whirlwind, some of the lessons learned may benefit or harm us but at the end of the
day, life waits for none. Deciding to make a change in life can be one of the hardest yet most
fulfilling things a person can do. Whether a life change is occurring because one wants to be
healthier, or one wants to be more positive, the act can be intimidating at first. Although there are
different ways to go about it, there are at least four key steps to achieving and making a successful
lifestyle change and shift. The steps include acknowledging the problem and deciding on a new
lifestyle or what change to make, thoroughly researching the lifestyle and what it takes to attain it,
giving a layout or making a plan of the new lifestyle, and lastly having a self–reward system for the
successful transition. As a person it can be hard to admit when there is a problem or to even
acknowledge when there is a flaw within. Pride can be a preventative factor in making a lifestyle
change but can be rewarding when overcame. The first step towards change is accepting one needs
to be made. The solution lies within and finding it is as simple as self–realization of an issue. Being
aware of the obstacles that hinder growth into a new lifestyle allows the opportunity to make the
necessary changes, ultimately actuating the entire life changing process. Following the admission
of a problem, one must decide what to do about it and what type of life to transition to. Whether
the goal is to become more positive, lose weight, get better grades, or even have a better sleep
schedule, the first step to achieving it is deciding to make the change. After finally making the
decision to make a change within life, the journey continues on. When learning something new in
class time is spent studying and researching the topic in order to further understand and comprehend
it; the same logic is applied to a lifestyle change in the sense that the research done has to be even
more thorough. Some situations may require tiny changes over time

Persuasive Essay On Choices In Life
I believe that everyone in this life has choices. The choices we make define who we are as people
and what we stand for. Choosing one path over another may be the best or worst decision you
could ever make. However, once you have chosen, stick to your decision because you made that
choice for a reason. Even if it is to have lunch at a certain restaurant over another, or a bigger
decision like choosing your major. Something in your life helped you make that decision, and the
worst thing you can do is live your life with the regret of a choice. If your decision ends up badly,
simply make another choice. Choose a new path. In the words of my oh so wise History teacher,
"Never second guess yourself because that's worse than making the wrong choice in the end."
One of the best examples that comes to mind is a story I heard a few weeks ago, based on a real
event. In 1979, a man named Lee Strobel and his family went to a restaurant one evening and he
gave his 7 year old daughter a nickel to get a gumball from the machine and a few moments later,
she came back to the table choking on the gum. They didn't know what to do and if they waited
for an ambulance they feared it would be too late. All of a sudden, a woman came up and said
that she is a nurse and can help. The woman, after getting the gumball out of the little girl, told her
parents that her and her husband were headed to another restaurant when all of a sudden she made
a last minute choice to go here. Because of her choice, a little girl's life was saved. Hearing stories
such as this one, reminds me of all of the choices I have made, and how they have affected me.
When I was 6, my family up and moved to a new school called Knox County. I loved it there for I
had so many friends and nothing bad ever happened. Then at the end of 5th grade, my dad got a
new job so we moved schools again. This time I was 11 and starting middle school at a small
school called Pilot Grove, and I've been here ever since. There are times I catch myself wondering
what would've happened if we had stayed in Knox or the first town I ever lived in, Philadelphia (no
not the one in Pennsylvania). Sometimes I even believe that things would be a lot better if we had
stayed there. There are

Persuasive Essay About Living In A Small Town
Name _______Charity Perry______ Date ____11/6/15 #5_
Please copy your Unit II persuasive essay here:
Would you rather live in a big city or a small town? A lot of people have lived in both, but there is
always that one that feels like home to you. The one that feels like, you could walk in and see food
on the table and a family waiting for you. The one where you could walk in and say " I'm home!!"
Most people that are raised in the city, they have no idea how amazing living in a small town is.
Although if you were raised in a small town your whole life, you don't really have the feeling of a
city being home. If you would rather live in a city, just think of these things before you make up
your mind. At night in a city, could you look...show more content...
Let me tell you. You're missing out.
I have had the opportunity to live in both, as a child I was raised in Claude Texas. Very small, but
not as small as Groom. When I was seven my step dad got a job offer, so we moved to Chicago
Illinois. It was the worst thing I have ever had to do, it was awful, and loud, and scary, and busy,
and I hated it. With a passion.
After living there about a month, we had enough of it. We moved back to Claude, and I was so
happy to be back where I knew everyone. And I knew everyone loved me and cared for me. A little
while after that, we moved to Groom because it was closer to my mom's work.
Gee, I thought Claude was amazing. But Groom is beyond amazing, there are people who love you
like your their own child. They care about you, and you know everyone. The only disadvantage of
living in a small community, is when you're close to someone and they pass. The entire town's hearts
hurt.
But overall, living in a small town is way better then living in a big city. If you've never lived
somewhere that has felt like home to you, then think about living in a small town. I promise you
won't regret

Short Persuasive Essay

  • 1. Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life. Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their educational journeys in a meaningful way. I hope to provide the children in my classroom an accessible, inclusive and resource rich learning environment. Access Access to a reliable, equitable and high–quality education can has a lasting positive effect on...show more content... Inclusion A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students. Resources Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration. Future Classroom My goal is to make my classroom a learning environment where all students can be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Title of Speech: Mental Health Speaker Role/ Audience: Advocate the importance of addressing mental health in schools. Thesis: Mental health is one of the largest problems students face on a daily basis, and in order to best help them, we need to implement serious and frequent discussions about mental health. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– INTRO: Attention Getting Device: Every year, about 42.5 million American adults (or 18.2 percent of the total adult population in the United States) suffers from some mental illness, enduring conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, statistics reveal. (newsweek.com) Purpose/Thesis: To persuade you all the importance of including mental health awareness in schools. Credibility: I have dealt with anxiety my entire life. Because I was not aware of what I had for so long and I did not have any help, I suffered and so did multiple aspects of my academic career. Justification: "The answer, based on the prevalence of mental illness globally, is stunning: 8 million people die each year due to mental illness. That is, 8 million deaths could be averted if people with mental illness were to die at the same rate as the general population." (NIMH) Preview of Main Points: Today I will show you the dangers of not explicitly discussing mental health in school, what students will gain from discussing mental health, and inform you what you can do to make this happen. Transition: First, let us discuss the danger of not including mental health in students' education. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– BODY: Need: According to nami.org, approximately 1 in 5 youth aged 13–18 (21.4%) experiences a severe mental disorder at some point during their life. For children aged 8–15, the estimate is 13%. Research has found that about 90% of individuals who die by suicide experience a mental illness. Social anxiety affects about 15 million individuals across America, most cases start around the age of 13. They often suffer anxiety, difficulty focusing and social challenges. Half of them drop out of high school, in part because many schools don't manage to meet their needs. • 3. Persuasive Essay On Suicide In today's society, suicide can be a multifaceted issue, sometimes an act of heroism, selfishness, love, or a brave choice. I am arguing against suicide because it is not a solution to a problem, it should not even be included as an option. Suicide is simply defined as "the deliberate taking of one's own life, usually the result of a psychiatric disorder, although sometimes deliberated in the face of life–threatening physical illness, significant interpersonal stress, or when under the influence of one or more substances of abuse" (Piotrowski). This topic interests me because of the fact that the rates are increasing year after year and it can happen to someone close to me at any moment. This topic should interest you too because someone close to you can show warning signs, which can be subtle or more discernible. Also if you are reading this as a parent, you should know "suicide is the third leading cause of death for those between the ages of ten and fourteen, and it is the second leading cause of death for those ages fifteen to thirty–four" (Goff). Yet the factors that play into a someone's decision is anything but simple. The most obvious and severe effect of suicide is the loss of a meaningful, valuable human life. "In the United States in 2013, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 41,149 individuals committed suicide and approximately 494,169 received medical treatment for self–inflicted injuries. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported an estimated 800,000 suicides worldwide in 2016, and suicide is the second leading cause of death among fifteen– to twenty–nine–year–olds worldwide. Women attempt suicide more often than men, but men complete suicide more often than women because men tend to use more lethal means, such as a firearm" (Piotrowski). With suicide rates on a continuous rise in America, society must ask what can be done to save lives. The main argument against suicide is that it is selfish, which is true. By you killing yourself, it causes a lot of pain to those left behind, like your family, loved ones, friends, etc. They tend to blame themselves for your death. Even if you feel like nobody in the whole world cares about you, you are wrong. When you think Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The Jehovah's Witness should not run to conclusion and do the pledge of allegiance, they should understand the meaning of it first, then if they still don't seem okay with it, they should consider leaving public school. Now you decide. Which argument was more sound, the majority opinion or the dissent? Argue in favor of one or the other in a short persuasive essay of about 300 words. • 5. School has always been a safe haven for children to learn and grow, not only as students, but as individuals as well. However, as we grow older, school becomes more of a tedious task, rather than a fun place to go to. From standardized tests, to finals and midterms, school weighs down on us as a heavy burden. It has been under heavy debate on whether or not the school day is long enough. Generally starting at 8 A.M. , and finishing around 3 P.M. , the school day lasts around seven hours, for kindergarten through twelfth grade. Many people believe that the day needs to be longer in order to fit in all of the material students need to learn. However, would making the day longer really benefit anyone? With a longer school day, students would be getting less sleep than they already do and the time being added would not be used in beneficial ways. A longer school day is not only a bad idea, but is detrimental to the health and learning of students. To begin, one of the main reasons that the school day should not be extended, is based on the fact that students will not be getting enough sleep. Mary Carskadon, a professor of psychiatry and human behavior at Brown University, wrote in her article "Let Students Sleep" that "many adolescents are already in trouble because they get too little sleep." With a seven hour school day alone, students are already struggling to get to bed at a reasonable hour, due to sports, extracurriculars, homework, and day–to–day activities. Carskadon notes that good sleep "enhances" and "amplifies" what is learned the day before. Students running on less hours of sleep not only perform badly in school, but tend to forget or struggle to recall what they've learned. To make the school day longer, it would either have to start earlier, forcing students to wake up earlier, or finish later, pushing extracurriculars and homework later into the night. Students running on less sleep struggle to recall what they learned and stay awake in school; thus, with a longer school day, students will be spending time trying to not fall asleep rather than learning new, important material. As one can clearly tell, extending the school day will be detrimental to the health of students. Continuing on, many Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive essay Love is a beautiful thing. It makes people happy. It can change a person, and show someone things that they never knew about themselves. It lifts one up, knowing there is always someone who will stand by their side through anything. It brings people together, and makes the world a better place. Some people may disagree; they might think love is just a fantasy. Either way, it is a fantasy that everyone deserves to dream of and experience in all its glory, whether straight, lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender. However, not all people are so accepting of love when it is not in the form that they are familiar with, or is not demonstrated in ways that they think are proper. This can be easily seen in society's treatment of non–heterosexuals,...show more content... Yes, the legal definition ofmarriage includes that it is between one man and one woman. This definition is not fair. Marriage should be about powerful love and support, despite the genders of the two recipients. Minnesota republican Wheelock Whitney, who ran for governor and senator in past years, wrote an editorial on his support for gay marriage in the Star Tribune last month. He said: "Gay men and lesbians are among the most talented people out there. Needless and hurtful laws [banning same–sex marriage] drive them away. They also drive away innovative people of any sexual orientation who simply want to live in a place that respects and celebrates the diversity of life." He continued by saying: "my happiness has never depended on depriving others of their happiness. My marriage has never needed the exclusion of others from marriage. I am not threatened by seeing others find love and celebrate it." Gays are normal people just like anyone else, who struggle with their identities and live in search of success, love, and happiness. Prejudiced laws banning same–sex marriage needlessly keep these people from natural human desires. No damage is done to society by letting same–sex couple marry and lead more content, loving lives. If anything, it makes our country a better, happier place. While adult non–heterosexuals are regularly discriminated against via their denied access from legal marriage, those much younger face constant discrimination Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Short Stories As we are nearing our destination our bus driver yells out "I am going to stop at this gas station and fill up." When our bus driver came back onto the bus he exclaimed "The gas station is out of gasoline so we will stay here overnight." Then, everyone in the bus started grunting and moaning. "But guys we can make this fun if we tell stories to pass the time, Here, I will start." I said. And we began telling each other our stories. "Can we please adopt this one, Mom? Pretty please, he is so cute! With his bright green eyes and his pink little nose," said Jacob, a thirteen year old boy with red hair. "After this we will be pretty much bankrupt," said Jacob's mom, with her deep blue eyes staring into Jacob's "Please just this one thats all," said Jacob "Ok but promise me that you will take responsibility of him by taking care of him," said Jacob's mom. And they strutted to the individual behind the counter. When they got back home with their new puppy they decided to name him Spot due to a cinnamon–colored spot on his back. The next morning, when Jacob woke up he noticed that Spot's nose is not the same shade of pink. In fact, it is quite pale. "Mom we need to take spot to the vet now!" screamed Jacob wistfully. "Ok, I will get Spot while you get in the car," replied Mom. When they got to their destination, Jacob sprinted out of the car and went to the vet's office and almost immediately the vet said "Spot is going to need surgery, do you have insurance?" Well, that was the day I didn't know I had. As I roused out of my sleep, I heard somebody rushing up the stairs and opening my door. " Arlene, wake up we have to leave soon!" My mom bellowed as I started to lift the blue blanket off myself. We were going to California today and I couldn't wait! I went and packed my toothbrush, glasses, contacts, and whatever else I needed. As I rushed downstairs, I smelled the eggs my mom was making us as I gave my luggage to my dad. I couldn't wait for this adventure to begin, but I didn't know how much fun I would really have! "Please fasten your seatbelt the plane is about to land," the flight attendant addressed over the loudspeaker. I squealed as I put my headphones away and turned my phone off. "Ahhhh, I can't believe we're about to land!" I told Armaan. While the plane was landing, we saw the Hollywood Sign, buildings, many hills, and not to mention palm trees! "Wow, look at this view!" I exclaimed as the plane started to dart down at full speed. Finally, we were here. As soon as I got out I felt a nice breeze, and I started to make my way out of the plane and to the baggage area. "I can't believe we're here!" Armaan beamed while my dad went to go pick up a car. We found our bags and headed outside when the hot sun blazed right at me. • 9. Writing A Persuasive Essay It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless...show more content... You'll get this definition: "The writer takes a stand on an issue–either "for" or "against"–and builds the strongest possible argument to win over the reader. In a persuasive essay, it's the writer's job to convince the reader to accept a particular point of view or take a specific action." Along with a bunch of How Tos. I've have taken a stand that is very passive–aggressive, on why I can't write this essay. I know what you're thinking, this is ridiculous. Just think of it like this, as you sit there reading me ramble on and give excuses. You're starting to listen. Yes, you have been in my spot before, lack of passion words don't form right and you're just not clear enough. I see the irony here, this very essay, it contradicts itself. A persuasive essay on why I can't write a persuasive essay. In the end it's genius, I'm not faking an opinion or sing someone's thoughts. You might have considered this option before but it seemed too stupid. You looked up prompt after prompt. Nothing. When you finally settle you know it's not your best work and the grade shows. Or you did it last minute, reworded someone else's essay. You've even considered turning in nothing, I mean what's the point Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Persuasive Essay About Friendship When I was in pre–school, I formed a conspiracy in order to become the friend of this one girl in my class. From that point on, friendship had always been this equation–esque problem to solve. It always was highly difficult to find someone to connect with on a platonic level. I was extremely socially anxious and had no idea of how to actually make friends. All of my healthiest and most successful friendships were not made through my previous methods, but were all rather happy accidents. However, luck combined with mutual characteristics are not the only aspects of friendships with which one concerns his or herself. When making a friend, one is bound to lose a part of themselves in that other person. This happens when a person makes any sort of devotion to the other, whether miniscule of utmost importance. Whether or not this predicament is negative or positive depends on the part they lose. A negative predicament may include the loss of good habits and demeanors replaced by destructive or unhealthy behavior. A positive situation may include one person being a sort of foil to the other's personality. For example, one friend may lack social skills, but has confidence in his or herself while the other friend might be highly gregarious but has deep sated insecurities. While in a good, healthy friendship, they start to lose the parts that may be lacking and pick up those that better show the other facets of their personality. The friendship is not based on mutual benefits, but Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Supreme Court Persuasive Essay Theodore Roosevelt once said, "The President and the Congress are all very well in their way. They can say what they think they think, but it rests with the Supreme Court to decide what they have really thought." (Roosevelt) This quote summarizes brilliantly the true importance of Marbury vs. Madison. Prior to this famous Supreme Court case, the Supreme Court had not truly cemented itself in the eyes of the American people. With this decision, the Supreme Court made the bold statement that whatever they decided, would always make them the most powerful court in the country. On February 17, 1801, Thomas Jefferson was elected to be the third president of the United States. Even though he was elected then, Jefferson would not actually take office until March 4, 1801. Current President John Adams was on his way out of office and wanted to ensure that the incoming candidate of the opposing party would have as little power as possible. To do this, on March 3, 1801, Madison appointed 42 Federal justices of the peace and 16 Federal circuit judges. This was all a result of the Judiciary Act of 1801. These appointments had to be delivered by hand to the appointees and they attempted to deliver all of them by the end of the day on March 3, 1801. When President Thomas Jefferson took office the next day, he instructedJames Madison to halt the deliveries of the remaining appointments. As such, William Marbury decided to sue James Madison for not giving him his official appointment. The case was brought to the Supreme Court and they decided on February 24, 1803 that Madison was in his right to refuse delivery of the appointment. • 13. Persuasive Essay On Human Life As said by one of the most well know American fiction authors, Dr. Seuss, "A person is a person, no matter how small" ("A Quote from Horton Hears a Who!"). The context of this famous quote teaches, in just nine words, the importance of human life. No matter how small the human is, the right of living should not be taken away. This applies to those who have not experienced life outside of the womb as well. Within 24 hours of conception, the fertilized egg starts to rapidly mature into the cells with a unique genetic identity of the new human being. At the moment of conception a new life begins ("Fetal Development: Stages of Growth."). However, there are those individuals who disagree and believe that a life not born has the right to die. The option of abortion should be revoked because it is seen as inhumane murder, the procedures are done in ruthless ways, and it can result in medical complications for the patient. The killing of an innocuous human being is wrong, even if that human being is yet to be born. What is the difference between purposely exterminating a baby from its home when they are 30 weeks old in the womb, and purposely killing a premature baby in the hospital when they are 30 weeks old? In both situations the innocent baby is in a home, the only difference is the home they are in [Hypophora]. But the location of the child should not determine whether or not it is acceptable to kill a human being. According to Merriam–Webster Dictionary, the definition of murder is "the crime of unlawfully killing a person especially with malice aforethought" ("Murder"). This description of murder can relate to the Merriam–Webster Dictionary definition of abortion, which is "the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus" ("Abortion"). Both definitions describe the act of a planned death to a harmless human. The terminology and connotation also show the severity of the act. Although some may say that life doesn't begin at conception, there are other ways to go about correcting a "mistake" as some might call an unplanned child. The merciless ways of abortion procedures are graphic, unforgiving, permanent [Anaphora].The three abortion Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Persuasive Essay About Psychology Imagine that a friend of yours heard that you were taking a psychology class. Your friend asks you. "Why are you wasting your time with that class? I never took a psych class but it seems like a waste of time. It seems like other fields are more important." Write a short dialogue where you either agree or disagree with your friend about the importance of psychology. In your dialogue, include at least two pieces of evidence that support your argument. Friend: I heard you are taking a psychology class. Me: Yeah! Why? Friend: Why are you wasting your time with that class? I never took a psych class but it seems like a waste of time. It seems like other fields are more important. Me: You can think what you wish, but the psychology field has many different branches that are beneficial to society. In psychology, we have learned many different tools that could be used in the real world. Friend: Like what? Me: First, psychology has many different roots and main schools of thought. A few of them are behaviorism, cognitive, humanistic, and neuroscience. Friend: Well, how does that make psychology more important than other fields? Me: The main schools of thought look into many different aspects of the brain, behavior and other things of that nature. I think that it is very helpful to understand and know how people function, think, and act, especially because we all have to live together. Friend: Okay. I see where you're coming from but I am not sure I can fully agree with you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Persuasive Essay On Drug Addiction Drug addiction is a complex problem in society today. Addiction is a condition that extremely affects the person's mind and body. Addiction also has wide sweeping effects on that person's social connection and functioning. Unfortunately, many addicts don't realize the social influence of their addiction until much of their functioning has greatly deteriorated. Addiction is a "chronic disease characterized by drug seeking and use that is compulsive, or difficult to control, despite harmful consequences." The initial decision to take drugs is voluntary for most individuals, but frequent drug use can lead to brain alterations that challenge an addicted person's self–control and interfere with their ability to resist intense urges to take drugs. These brain alterations can be persistent, which is why drug addiction is considered a "relapsing" disease. People in recovery from drug use disorders are at increased threat for returning to drug use even after years of not taking the drug. It's common for an individual to relapse, but relapse doesn't mean that treatment doesn't work. As with other chronic health conditions, treatment should be constant and should be adjusted based on how the patient answers. Treatment plans need to be reviewed often and modified to fit the patient's changing desires. Although it is true that for most people the initial decision to take drugs is voluntary, over time the changes in the brain caused by frequent drug abuse can impair a person's self–discipline and ability to make sound judgements, and at the same time create an intense impulse to take drugs. It is because of these alterations in the brain that it is so puzzling for a person to stop abusing drugs. Luckily, there are treatments that help people to neutralize addiction's powerful disruptive effects and regain control of their lives. Study shows that combining addiction treatment medications, when suitable, with behavioral therapy is the best way to ensure success for most patients. Treatment approaches that are custom–made to each patient's drug abuse patterns and any concurrent medical, psychiatric, and social problems can help achieve sustained recovery and a life without drugs. The alcohol abuse definition is similar Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Persuasive Essay About Friendship Trying to find a good friend is like finding a four–leaf clover; it's hard to find, but lucky to have. The term friendship is a unique bond between two individuals–whether it's a charming boy and a geeky girl, an elder woman and a young adult, or even between a cat and a dog. Friendship takes no form, instead it is the individual trust toward others. Dating back to the creation of the human species, people were familiar with the idea of companionship, in addition of being a companion, it relies on a sense of comfort and protection. Presently, people still share that bond of comfort and protection toward others, but the term companionship has changed into what is now known today as friendship. The world is currently evolving into a digital era, a generation where everyone and everything are connected by the power of computers, including meeting new people across the world where it's impossible to meet in person. However, even though it's easily accessible to make friends online, it can never favor those who live locally. The reason why is because in the digital world, people are highly deceptive and are limited in communication while in comparison to those who lives locally. However, it isn't wrong to make friends online, even though, some of them are misleading. It's more suitable to have friends locally as they have better communication efficiency, living proof of actual identity, and as well of physically spending quality time together. Friends who live locally often have Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Stepping Out Of Your Comfort Zone Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone Many immigrants come to the United States in pursuit of opportunity, however they struggle to adopt the dominant culture's language, which limits the job opportunities available to them. Historically, immigrants assimilated by having to learn dominant language, but this challenge led them to create ethnic enclaves that make them feel more welcomed. Many enclaves in the United States, for example the Latino population in San Francisco's Mission District, give a sense of comfort and nostalgia of home because people from that community have similarities to their homeland. Newcomers do not need to step out of their enclave because they have all the support they need in their communities. Although many immigrants come to the United States in hope of opportunity, they are limited to achieving and moving forward because of their ethnic enclaves. Because these enclaves do not allow them to expand into different cultures, they are limited both socially and economically. Within ethnic communities, there are a huge number of people who face language barriers that prevents them from seeking employment outside of their ethnic community. People within these ethnic enclaves do not feel the need to learn the dominant language, because the majority of the population with their community speaks the same language as they do. Places like San Francisco's China town has established their own enclave that includes everything from grocery shops to hospitals. This Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Persuasive Essay On Change In Life Life is a whirlwind of events, situations, and lessons all wrapped into one. There is no one way to live life correctly or to the greatest ability because each individual has a different perception of it. Throughout the whirlwind, some of the lessons learned may benefit or harm us but at the end of the day, life waits for none. Deciding to make a change in life can be one of the hardest yet most fulfilling things a person can do. Whether a life change is occurring because one wants to be healthier, or one wants to be more positive, the act can be intimidating at first. Although there are different ways to go about it, there are at least four key steps to achieving and making a successful lifestyle change and shift. The steps include acknowledging the problem and deciding on a new lifestyle or what change to make, thoroughly researching the lifestyle and what it takes to attain it, giving a layout or making a plan of the new lifestyle, and lastly having a self–reward system for the successful transition. As a person it can be hard to admit when there is a problem or to even acknowledge when there is a flaw within. Pride can be a preventative factor in making a lifestyle change but can be rewarding when overcame. The first step towards change is accepting one needs to be made. The solution lies within and finding it is as simple as self–realization of an issue. Being aware of the obstacles that hinder growth into a new lifestyle allows the opportunity to make the necessary changes, ultimately actuating the entire life changing process. Following the admission of a problem, one must decide what to do about it and what type of life to transition to. Whether the goal is to become more positive, lose weight, get better grades, or even have a better sleep schedule, the first step to achieving it is deciding to make the change. After finally making the decision to make a change within life, the journey continues on. When learning something new in class time is spent studying and researching the topic in order to further understand and comprehend it; the same logic is applied to a lifestyle change in the sense that the research done has to be even more thorough. Some situations may require tiny changes over time Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Persuasive Essay On Choices In Life I believe that everyone in this life has choices. The choices we make define who we are as people and what we stand for. Choosing one path over another may be the best or worst decision you could ever make. However, once you have chosen, stick to your decision because you made that choice for a reason. Even if it is to have lunch at a certain restaurant over another, or a bigger decision like choosing your major. Something in your life helped you make that decision, and the worst thing you can do is live your life with the regret of a choice. If your decision ends up badly, simply make another choice. Choose a new path. In the words of my oh so wise History teacher, "Never second guess yourself because that's worse than making the wrong choice in the end." One of the best examples that comes to mind is a story I heard a few weeks ago, based on a real event. In 1979, a man named Lee Strobel and his family went to a restaurant one evening and he gave his 7 year old daughter a nickel to get a gumball from the machine and a few moments later, she came back to the table choking on the gum. They didn't know what to do and if they waited for an ambulance they feared it would be too late. All of a sudden, a woman came up and said that she is a nurse and can help. The woman, after getting the gumball out of the little girl, told her parents that her and her husband were headed to another restaurant when all of a sudden she made a last minute choice to go here. Because of her choice, a little girl's life was saved. Hearing stories such as this one, reminds me of all of the choices I have made, and how they have affected me. When I was 6, my family up and moved to a new school called Knox County. I loved it there for I had so many friends and nothing bad ever happened. Then at the end of 5th grade, my dad got a new job so we moved schools again. This time I was 11 and starting middle school at a small school called Pilot Grove, and I've been here ever since. There are times I catch myself wondering what would've happened if we had stayed in Knox or the first town I ever lived in, Philadelphia (no not the one in Pennsylvania). Sometimes I even believe that things would be a lot better if we had stayed there. There are Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Persuasive Essay About Living In A Small Town Name _______Charity Perry______ Date ____11/6/15 #5_ Please copy your Unit II persuasive essay here: Would you rather live in a big city or a small town? A lot of people have lived in both, but there is always that one that feels like home to you. The one that feels like, you could walk in and see food on the table and a family waiting for you. The one where you could walk in and say " I'm home!!" Most people that are raised in the city, they have no idea how amazing living in a small town is. Although if you were raised in a small town your whole life, you don't really have the feeling of a city being home. If you would rather live in a city, just think of these things before you make up your mind. At night in a city, could you look...show more content... Let me tell you. You're missing out. I have had the opportunity to live in both, as a child I was raised in Claude Texas. Very small, but not as small as Groom. When I was seven my step dad got a job offer, so we moved to Chicago Illinois. It was the worst thing I have ever had to do, it was awful, and loud, and scary, and busy, and I hated it. With a passion. After living there about a month, we had enough of it. We moved back to Claude, and I was so happy to be back where I knew everyone. And I knew everyone loved me and cared for me. A little while after that, we moved to Groom because it was closer to my mom's work. Gee, I thought Claude was amazing. But Groom is beyond amazing, there are people who love you like your their own child. They care about you, and you know everyone. The only disadvantage of living in a small community, is when you're close to someone and they pass. The entire town's hearts hurt. But overall, living in a small town is way better then living in a big city. If you've never lived somewhere that has felt like home to you, then think about living in a small town. I promise you won't regret Get more content on HelpWriting.net
