(SUBJECTIVE, OBJECTIVE, POSSESIVE AND
REFLEXIVE)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After joining today’s teaching learning process the
students are able to:
1. Define what is Pronoun
2.Mention and explain the types of Pronouns
3.Use Pronouns correctly and appropriately
WHAT IS PRONOUN?
Pronoun is a word that replaces noun. It is used in place of a noun
that has already been mentioned. It often used to avoid repeating
the noun.
TYPES OF PRONOUNS
• SUBJECTIVE PRONOUNS
• OBJECTIVE PRONOUNS
• POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS
• REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS
• DEMONSTRATIVE PRONOUNS
• INTERROGATIVE PRONOUNS
• RELATIVE PRONOUNS
• INDEFINITE PRONOUNS
• RECIPROCAL PRONOUNS
(For today’s meeting we will discuss only four types of Pronouns:
Subjective, Objective, Possessive and Reflexive Pronouns)
PRONOUNS
SUBJECTIVE PRONOUNS
SUBJECTIVE PRONOUNS refer to the personal pronouns that act as the subject in a
sentence. (I, you, she, he, it = Singular and we, you, they= Plural)
For examples:
 Sashi is a good student.
She is a good student.
 John is a good manager.
He is a good manager.
 I and my father went to Thailand last week.
We went to Thailand last week.
 The students are studying English now.
They are studying English now.
 My sister buys a new laptop every year.
She buys a new laptop every year
The book is very interesting
It is very interesting
OBJECTIVE PRONOUNS
Objective Pronouns refer to the personal pronouns that act as the object
in sentences. Objective Pronouns include: me, you, us, them, him, her,
and it
For examples:
 I love John so much.
I love him so much.
 We meet Diana in the office.
We meet her in the office.
 I give the report to the clients.
I give the report to them.
 She bought the television yesterday.
She bought it yesterday.
 My father gave me and my sister a lot of money.
SUBJECTIVE AND OBJECTIVE PRONOUNS EXERCISE
Find the pronouns in these following sentences!
1. She writes an email to her client.
2. I love reading Business Magazine.
3. I will call you after meeting.
4. He works in the office.
5. The food is very delicious. I really enjoy it.
6. They will go to the beach tomorrow.
7. I miss them so much.
8. They give us a lot of money.
9. This situation makes him uncomfortable.
10.He has transmitted the report to us.
SUBJECTIVE AD OBJECTIVE PRONOUNS EXERCISE
