UI GreenCityMetric is a ranking for Regencies/Cities in Indonesia in sustainability and was first
launched in 2022. UI GreenCityMetric consists of 6 assessment categories, including Setting and
Infrastructure (SI), Energy and Climate Change (EC), Waste Management (WS), Water Management
(WR), Access and Mobility/Transportation (TR) and Governance (GV).
With the UI GreenCityMetric Ranking, Regencies/Cities in Indonesia are expected to transform into
sustainable Regencies/Cities. In 2022, as many as 34 Regencies/Cities have participated in this
ranking.

In the implementation of conservation functions, as of June 2017, the wealth of the KRJP
collection consisted of garden collections comprising 140 genera, 159 species, and 702
specimens, as well as collection plant seedlings comprising 64 tribes, 249 genera, 411 species,
and 2847 specimens. Additionally, there are also non-collection plant seedlings comprising 41
tribes, 79 genera, 135 species, and 12,547 specimens, which are used for the aesthetic elements
of thematic gardens and greening purposes.

Salatiga City received a Strong Earthquake Network Equipment
(Accelerograph) grant from BMKG. The Accelerograph or Strong
Motion Seismograph is an instrument used to record very strong
ground shaking that measures the acceleration of the ground

Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan
This masterplan includes aspects such as mapping the
current conditions and issues in the waste sector,
setting targets and objectives for waste management
both at institutional and community levels, identifying
the implementation needs of program activities and
budgeting for the waste sector for a 5-year period, and
drafting waste management regulations.
Salatiga City, Central Java
The city of Salatiga has a Regional Wastewater Management
Plan (SPALD) published in 2021. This master plan includes
aspects such as an overview of the study area and the
existing conditions of wastewater management in Salatiga,
strategies for the development of domestic wastewater
management systems, and equally important, plans for the
development programs and implementation stages of
domestic wastewater management systems.

Semarang City, Central Java
The wastewater management process is divided into several facilities,
including pre-treatment facilities, main treatment stages, and disinfection
facilities. The main process of the MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor)
wastewater treatment plant is similar to the Activated Sludge process but
with a mixed suspended media contained in the reactor by an effluent
screen, with the exception that there is no return of activated sludge. The
process design for MBBR also includes suspended media in the anoxic
zone for fixed film biological denitrification.
Pasuruan City, East Java
Waste treatment in Pasuruan City, East Java, is done through a
septic tank biofilter system. The septic tank biofilter consists of a dip
tank, an inlet chamber containing filter media (crushed stone, gravel,
volcanic rock), and an absorption chamber that is buried beneath the
local road, serving as a public facility.

The Rainwater Recycling and Harvesting Program in Parepare City is
being implemented in the climate village of RW 1, Watang Bacukiki
Village. Rainwater harvesting is a conservation method that involves
collecting and utilizing rainwater to meet water needs and can reduce
the risk of inundation. It is also an effective way to deal with drought
during the dry season by saving rainwater through recycling activities.

33. Pasuruan City – East Java

The government of Pasuruan City, through the Pasuruan City
Environment, Sanitation, and Landscaping Service, conducts monthly
monitoring activities to ensure the water quality of several Pasuruan
City watersheds. The community also plays a role in protecting and
preserving the environment, particularly by refraining from polluting
and disposing of household and production waste in the watershed to
maintain the water quality.

Kediri City provides a variety of public transportation services that
serve both within and outside the city, including Free School Bus
Service, Urban Public Transportation, Buses, and Trains. The bus and
city transportation routes in Kediri City can be tracked using the Kediri
Transportation Department's application called "Traker," which is
available for download on the Play Store.

South Jakarta Administration City – Jakarta
Surakarta City, Central Java:
To reduce the number of private vehicle users in
Surakarta City, the city has implemented the Buy The
Service (BTS) program to serve the public in using the
Batik Solo Trans public transportation system.
Additionally, the city has also focused on developing
bicycle lanes and pedestrian pathways.

Kediri City – East Java
In efforts to educate the public, including schools
and the wider community, about the environment,
the Department of Environment and Hygiene
(DLHKP) has implemented several programs. These
include Adiwiyata Schools, Serene Villages, Proklim
Villages, and more. Some schools and villages have
even achieved national recognition and awards for
their accomplishments in these programs.
