I having been writing about visual culture, ethics, photojournalism, and social media for more than a decade. In 2006, American Photo Magazine named my blog The Big Picture (http://ddunleavy.typepad.com/the_big_picture/) a "Top Innovator" for writing on photography. My work has been published in more than 8 languages and has been included on many websites, online magazines and in books. I teach visual communication, photography, and video at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas and my research areas include semiotics, image analysis, and digital culture.
