12. Gökkuşağı Science and Art Festival
(Traditional)
Our festival was started in 2008-2009 Scholastic Year and it has been
organised traditionaly since then with the participation of all teachers
and students in the district. The festival activities are presented below.

18. YOU HAVE A LETTER!
 In this project,
Darıca Directorate of National Education sent letters to
5080 guardians whose pupils study at 7th and 8th grades in
primary schools. The guardians were informed about their
pupils’ needs , academic and social competence. Besides,
the tradition of sending letters was stimulated.

19. 24TH NOVEMBER TEACHERS DAY ACTIVITIES
24th November is celebrated as Teachers Day in Turkey. For
this important day , Darıca Directorate of National
Education organizes several activities whose target group is
teachers in the district.

23. ‘CONSCIOUS FAMILY,
SUCCESSFUL AND HAPPY CHILD’
 In this project, Guidance and Counselling Teachers gave
seminars to 5250 guardians.
 The aims of the project:
 to inform guardians about the danger of drug addiction
and how to save their pupils from it.
 to stimulate effective communication between guardians
and pupils.
 to lessen the presure and anxiety upon pupils because of
high school entrance exam.

26. TEACHERS TRAINING ON ENVIRONMENT,
STUDENT TRAINING AND WORKSHOP ON BOTANY
 In this project, 24 primary schools with 5358 students at 4th
and 5 th grade were involved. These students visited Faruk
Yalçın Animal World and Botanical Garden which is a member
of European Assossiation of Zoos and Aquaria.
 The aims of the project:
 to raise students’ awareness of botany.
 to learn more about plants and have the chance of learning by
doing.
 to stimulate real life experience as an active learning method.

29. WE HAVE AN EXAM!
 In this project, 23824 students were involved.
 The aims of the project:
 to lessen students’ anxiety about high school entrance
exam.
 to help them get used to the exam atmosphere.
 To help them overcome the pressure of exams.

30. PHOTOGRAPH EXHIBITION
 In this project, photos taken by our teachers were exhibited.
 More than 3000 visitors visited this exhibiton.

32. GOOD EXAMPLES
OF TEACHING AND TRAINING METHODS
 In this training , Prof. Dr. Aytaç AÇIKALIN gave a
seminar ; shared his experiences and studies about good
and applicable teaching - training methods.
 More than 300 teachers and headmasters participated in
this seminar.

34. SEMINAR ON DYSLEXIA AND TEACHING
TECHNIQUES TO COMBAT WıTH THıS PROBLEM
 The speaker was an English Professor IAN SMYTHE.
 280 English Language Teachers in Darıca, Çayırova, Dilovası,
Körfez, Derince participated in the seminar.
 Dyslexia problem was discussed. Teachers were informed
about teaching and training techniques that help dyslexic
students.

36. KINDERGARTEN FESTıVAL
 This festival is organised annually to celebrate the expansion of kindergartens
and the successful performance of our children in kindergartens.
