The journal Decolonization: Indigeneity, Education & Society is calling for submissions for an open-themed issue to be published in Spring 2015. They are looking for articles that center decolonization and further discussions around decolonial possibilities. Possible themes include decolonial, Indigenous or Afrofuturities; intersections of antiblackness and settler colonialism; and decolonizing colonial pedagogies. The deadline for submissions is November 10, 2014 and articles must follow the journal's style guidelines.

Call For Submissions: Open Issue
[September 3, 2014] Decolonization: Indigeneity, Education & Society is calling for
submissions for an open-themed issue, to be published in Spring 2015. We are
calling for submissions that fit our general goals and guidelines, submissions that
explicitly center decolonization and engage in scholarship that furthers discussions
around decolonial possibilities. This will be the only open themed issue of 2015.
As always, we are interested in papers that engage with the intersections between
theory and practice, and privilege those submissions that challenge dominant
colonial norms of methodology, scholarship, and objectivity, while centering
resistant and resurgent forms of knowing and being.
Below are possible themes for submissions; they are not exhaustive and we
encourage submissions that approach decolonization from other entry points.
Decolonization prides itself on its undisciplinary focus and encourages submissions
from all fields and disciplines.
- Decolonial, Indigenous or Afrofuturities
- Intersections of antiblackness and settler colonialism
- Decolonizing colonial pedagogies
- Indigenous responses against environmental destruction and colonial
resource extraction
- The role of the scholar within decolonization struggles
- Building solidarities across colonial borders or boundaries
- Cultural revitalization of language, ceremonies and land-based practices
- Decolonizing colonial geographies
- Decolonization through social media, the internet or other technologies
Articles to be considered for the Spring 2015 issue must be submitted at
www.decolonization.org no later than November 10, 2014.

Scholarly articles are subject to a double-blind peer review and details can be found
here. We also encourage other non-peer-reviewed submissions, such as poetry,
visual art, interviews, and book reviews that fall under our journal’s focus.
