5. They are dying out! Their forests are being destroyed (cut down) because of palm oil plantations. People who are doing this do have a choice of planting the palm oil in the forest, where it would kill off the orangutans or planting the palm oil on bought land. These people only plant on the rain forest because of the money, (It costs less) and could just as easily have planted on bought land. But because it is more expensive, they choose not to.
6. They (people who are cutting down rainforest) are only thinking for themselves and the money, or in other words they are thinking about themselves and not the orangutan. As for me I think of the orangutans as humans not animals. As I said before, the orangutans are 97% human. The reason it is causing so much trouble is because of the palm oil.
7. Auckland Zoo. Auckland zoo are doing the best they can to stop people from buying products with palm oil in them. They themselves have one orangutan named Janie, who, is you could say so amazingly like a human you could swear Janie was an human in a suit! She carries a baby toy phone every where and even watches T.V! This is hard to believe but she is the second oldest orangutan in the world! Wow and wow again! They are so human! Second oldest! You help saving the orangutans by looking for products containing these things.
