Can we set up a policy for how long a linked share can last?
32. Cloud Backup – How it works Automatic backup happens in background. No user intervention required Data is encrypted and sent, backedup to an encrypted server Online Administrator sets backup and retention policies Light-weight agent runs on target laptops/desktops/servers Previous versions and deleted files are kept on backup servers for immediate retrieval for 30 days…making retrieval of accidentally deleted files possible

2 core services: Pro & Home online backup. Two Pro flavors: desktops and servers. All provide automated, secure protection for your data.
Traditionally of course backup is based on an on-premise system. You buy, operate, maintain and support it. It’s been the conventional approach, but more and more IT managers are questioning whether its’ the best usage of their team’s scarce time and energy. There’s overhead to taking it on yourself. Hire it out, like a lawn service. There’s a second traditional option: do nothing! Corporate data at risk. Hard drives fail. No one would advocate the practice, but it’s often done. And that reflects the hassle factor of doing this. Hardware and Software Cost-Buying Decisions-Constantly Changing TechnologiesData Center Overhead Costs-Power-Cooling-Space-Bandwidth

We take it seriously and have invested accordingly.2 encryption options. Default is 448-bit blowfish. Or you can provide your own encryption keys. Either way, we encrypt on the client and send over a secure SSL connection. The bits come to us encrypted and are stored encrypted in our data centers. We have successfully completed a SZAS 70 Type 2 audit, and are ISO 270001 certified. Something we are quite proud of and we know no other online backup vendor who carries that certifiication.
Concerns aside, the model is so compelling that according to a Gartner survey Cloud Computing rates at the top of strategic technologies for this year.
