Looking through the theme of threes, this presentation was an exploration of the different flavors of Drupal used by the Delta Stewardship Council. Learn how Drupal and Drupal Distributions have reduced delivery time, development costs, and process bottlenecks. This presentation will cover both the Special Sauces that were used and the Points of Pain that were discovered.
8. Delta Stewarship
Council
“California’s Delta is the largest estuary on the West
Coast and is the hub of the state’s major water supply
systems. In November 2009, the California Legislature
enacted SBX7 1 (Delta Reform Act), the Act, effective on
Feb. 3, 2010, created the Delta Stewardship Council. The
mission of the Delta Stewardship Council is to achieve the
two goals of providing a more reliable water supply for
California and protecting, restoring, and enhancing the
Delta ecosystem..“
9. Distributions
What are distributions?
Distributions are full copies of Drupal that include Drupal Core,
along with additional software such as themes, modules,
libraries, and installation profiles. There are two main types of
Drupal distributions:
• Full-featured distributions
All-inclusive products: complete solutions for specialized use cases.
• Other distributions
Quick-start tools: starting points for developers and site builders.
With a "full-featured" distribution, you can quickly and easily set up a site
for a specialized purpose such as academic, business, government,
nonprofit, publishing, social, etc., in few steps:
10. Open Atrium
Open Atrium is an intranet in a box that has
group spaces to allow different teams to have
their own conversations. It comes with six
features - a blog, a wiki, a calendar, a to do list, a
shoutbox, and a dashboard to manage it all.
11. COD
COD is the Conference Organizing Distribution of
Drupal and is primarily used for building and
running conference, barcamp, or event websites.
