2. What is Human
Trafficking?
“Human Trafficking is a crime against
humanity. It involves an act of recruiting,
transporting, transferring, harboring or
receiving a person through a use of force,
coercion or other means, for the purpose of
exploiting them.”

3. History and Statistics
 Can be traced back to 1492
when Christopher Columbus
used Africans and Native
Americans as slaves.
 “The United Nations estimates
that 700,000 to 4 million
women & children are
trafficked around the world
for purposes of forced
prostitution, labor and other
forms of exploitation every
year.”
 Trafficking is estimated to be
a $7 billion dollar annual
business.
