  “recently departed” …
1. Google or visit LinkedIn to find
  former employees
2. Ask for information (never a job)
3. Seek business meetings at target
  employers (not job interviews)

Step 1) Choose one target company.
 Find the name of the job and
  the hiring manager.
 Bonus: Know assistant’s name.

Step 2) On Monday, send the following

  in a FedEx box:
 Coffee cup (Starbucks, Caribou, etc.)

 Customized cover letter + Resume

 Optional: travel mug, $5 gift card

Step 3) On Wednesday, call and ask,
  “Did you get my package?”
 Write, practice and use a script,
  in case you get voicemail
 Ask for an interview!
