Roles of Alumni
1. BMFU4321 ENGINEERING SEMINAR
ASSIGNMENT 1
1. An alumni is a former pupil or student of a particular school, college, or university.
He/she is considered as alumni as they leave the learning institution either as a student or
a worker.
2. They act as a career mentor. Alumni can be a reference panel to the faculty concerned to
provide the needs of students and graduates to position themselves in a particular career.
The curriculum of study at the university can be improved so that more and more can
meet the relevant career aspirations. Moreover, they also contribute their expertise to the
university development as it also supports the reputation of the university.
3. An engaged alumni network allows the university to benefit from the skills and
experience of its graduates, by offering alumni support to the students, to the institution
and to each other. Alumni are university’s most loyal supporters and its best
ambassadors, offering invaluable marketing and promotion across their personal and
professional networks. As for the alumni, they can develop their own career trajectory by
learning new things. Alumni will likely have a wealth of experience and skills to share
with current students via talks and newsletters. In certain cases, this could go even further
with alumni offering to practically support students in work placements and help them
launch their careers.

provided salary through negotiations.
6. Grow passion towards the current job by improving the skills required by the job. Create
and maintain positive image. Pay attention/listen and maintain good communications
among other employees/colleagues. Work more efficiently and have clear vision on what
to achieve.
7. Poor communications among employees/workers. Poor time management and less
motivation. Doesn’t have the passion towards the job and no improvement in skills to
work efficiently. Stressful working conditions and overload of projects due to poor time
management.
