GRID Logistics Inc. has designed a comprehensive freight handling system to double container capacity at Southern California ports to 30 million by 2025. The system includes 1) a vertical pier terminal called SuperDock that can load and unload ships and trains more efficiently, 2) a 152-mile underground freight tunnel to remove trucks from freeways, and 3) inland terminals serviced by alternative fuel trucks for last-mile deliveries. This infrastructure aims to reduce traffic and emissions while generating jobs through increased port capacity and freight efficiency.
