 Identify the detailed
hardware inventory
of your target
systems.

that system look at

processor, and how
much disc space
you have.

5. How To Create A Smart Label
 Choose operation
system
 Make sure only Windows
7 systems are selected
 Look for systems with
disk space of at least
150 GB
 Also look for systems with
at least 2 GB of RAM
 Test your smart label to
find and group the
systems you have that
will support Office 2010

6. Office 2010 Readiness Report
 Go to the reporting module
 Search for the report under office
2010.
 Once you find the readiness report
click to execute
 This report will show you which
systems meet your previously
selected criteria

 This will be done by using the
software distribution module in the
process called managed
installations
 Managed installation is an
automated set of instructions to
install or remove software without
user or administrator interaction.
 You will be able to quickly identify
which systems need software
installation or removal of the Office
Operating System through the smart
label that was previously created.
 There is a software uninstaller that
needs to be executed to remove
previous versions of Office.
 This same technique can be used to
install Office 2010

8. How To Keep Track of The
Assets
 The Dell KACE K1000 System

Module.
 This will keep track of the
software installed, how many
systems the product was
installed on, the purchase
date, expiration date, and
licenses. You can also upload
the pdf of the actual license
agreement. This will allow you
to store all of the information
