2. Facebook
I like Facebook because a person
can talk to their friends, upload
pictures, and see the different
advertisements from different
companies.
I would use Facebook in the
future by talking to others about
publishing my book, finding
connections in finding a job in the
Office Administration field. I may
put a video of one of my songs on
Facebook to see how many hits I
can get.
What makes Facebook stand out
to me is, how a person can connect
with friends he/she hasn’t seen in
years, and the way you can enjoy
so many different ways to share
with friends and family that either
live in town or out of town.
3. Blogs
I like the Blog because, I can talk to
people from all over the world. I
can share my ideas and get others
to talk to me about my ideas and I
can talk to them about their ideas. I
can read news from all over the
world. I can see different kinds of
videos.
In the future, I may put parts of my
book for other to give me feed back.
I will read others personal stories
and view the videos posted.
What stands out to me about the
blog is, the journals that people put
out in the blog. The different post
that are posted, and the many
videos to see.
4. Twitter
I like Twitter because; a person can
connect with a circle of other
people. I can create and share my
thoughts with others. In addition, I
can find out about the different
services that companies have.
In the future, I may use Twitter to
connect with people and see if I can
start my “Sweet Potato Pie
business.
What stands out to me with Twitter
is, you can only post 140 characters
at a time and that makes it easier
and faster to communicate. To get
one to join your Tweets, you only
have to click “following” and you
have a new friend on your Twitter
page.
5. Wolfram Alpha
I really like this site, Wolfram
Alpha. I can put in anything and it
will bring it up. I can put in my
name and it will bring up how
many Darlene’s there are in the
world. I can put in a city and it will
tell me how many people are in
that city, schools in the city, and
other information about the city.
I would use this site in the future,
once I have to take a math class.
Because it will show me all the
steps I will need to be successful in
the math class.
What makes Wolfram Alpha stand
out is the ease of using the web site.
6. Flickr
I did not like Flickr because, I did
not have lots of pictures to put in
the site. I found it hard to work
with. I did not like having to add
geotags or tagging.
The less favorite part of Flickr, is
setting it up and trying to find
pictures to put on the site.
7. Google News
I do not like Google News because;
there is so much bad happening in
the world, which I do not want to
see it on the Internet every day. I
would not like to pull up my
browser and see bad news. I would
not like to share things that are
depressing to others.
What stands out as my less favorite
is, that the browser will always
display the news, first.
8. Wikipedia
I do not care for Wikipedia, due to
the way it gives so much
information and you have to keep
clicking to get to where you need to
be. The writing is very small, as
well. In addition, anyone who is
registered can add or subtract from
an article.
The less favorite to me is the small
print.
9. Meetup
I do not like Meetup. You cannot
see the person/people that you are
going to meet. In this time of day,
you have to be so careful who you
are meeting. When on the site you
see a picture, but is that really the
person you are going to meet.
What stands out to me is the
average of people that are out there
to meet.
10. Google Wave
I do not like the Google Wave
because; it has connections with,
blogs, wikis, instant messaging and
e-mails. I would not like to send a
message and others can change
what I have said. In addition, it has
smaller messages.
What stands out to me with Google
Wave is that others can edit the
contents of the message and add
others to the site without me
knowing about the change.
11. MapQuest
I do not like MapQuest because,
anyone can go to the map, pull up,
address, and go directly to that
person’s home. I think that too
much information is online. I
believe it is unsafe.
What stands out as my less favorite
about MapQuest is that anyone
with a cell phone or a computer can
find a person’s home.
