We have developed an online tool that makes digital plans interactive and engaging through a mobile
ﬁrst application platform that is responsive on all devices. It is designed to be ﬂexible and to evolve
with your project throughout the planning process. This web-based tool can serve as a project portal
as you engage your community at varying levels and can also seamlessly support your project both
online and at face-to- face meetings. This tool will include a Visual Interactive Survey (VIS), poll/
comments, sign up form to follow the project, online open house and a supporting paper-based
Crowdkit (extra) for neighborhood meetings and broad community-based engagement. During your
planning process we will provide regular reports of online engagement and detailed monthly reports

TECHNOLOGY
Multilingual Support
Our base website technology auto translates on google chrome, this includes headings, interactive
elements and the core content for the online open house tool. Users may specify the language they
would like to use. Our polls and visual interactive are manually translated for accuracy of technical
information. Our interactive surveys allow for 17 languages and accept special characters and
accented characters to be entered into forms and fields.
Buttons and interactive elements use simple icons and logos that are easy to understand in any
language. Our visual surveys automatically show real-time results in a visual format.
Records, Compliance, and Data Access
We will provide access to all data including website visits, comments and all time stamped info, polling
and survey data is also available in multiple file types. We work with our clients to support any public
information requests as required under Federal and Wisconsin Records Laws. We provide redundant
servers and manual data backup in digital csv file biweekly. We currently do not have published API’S
or servers available.
Spatial Data
We will be able to incorporate GIS layers from your system into our interactive mapping tool.

The CB Team worked with the Mayor’s White House Fellows, Supervisor Chu and the Neighborhood
Empowerment Network to bring 8 different agencies together to create a community-based vision for the
Outer Sunset Neighborhood and the N-Judah Turnaround.
The team won a commendation from the City of SF supervisors for a model collaborative process.The Center
for Civic Engagement thought that this process would make a great model for other communities throughout
the country and hired our team to create a demonstration project in Southern California along with a
handbook on how to run an integrated online and in-person process.

Our Ala Moana Park: Honolulu, HI
Client: City of Honolulu
CB designed and managed a community-based mater planning effort in early 2015. We were brought in to
help expand the reach of the project and deepen the level of understand of a linked system of water
treatment facilities through the Ala Moana Neighborhood to the popular waterfront park.. It was important
to our client that engagement be taken seriously to truly capture the essence of the “People’s Park” and what
it represents to the local community. Leveraging social media, our tool engaged over 30,000 people in the
first 3 weeks, and is helping to raise $100m from private donors for the project.

Connect Honolulu: Honolulu, HI
Client: City of Honolulu
The CB team helped the city of Honolulu create an interactive web portal for their Downtown Neighborhood
Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Plan, which articulates a vision for the future of the Downtown corridor
and will guide its development over the next era of the city’s growth.The project includes a green
infrastructure element integrated with “complete streets” that connects to improved canals and waterfront
greenways. We hosted a live interactive design session with over 420 participants at the TOD summit –
providing real-time results.
