Magazine Publishing Many media magazine like Kerrang, are involved in a huge conglomeration of companies including frontline and Kerrang’s publishers Bauer media These type of companies invest thousands of pounds in their magazines and in new technologies to hopefully attract a young mainstream audience.
3. Bauer Media The Bauer media group is a large German publishing company based in Hamburg, it was founded in 1875. It produces and distributes many popular magazines including Kerrang and Q. It also has stakes in television and radio, recently completing the purchase of a consumer magazine division and radio station division for of the British company, EMAP. EMAP limited is a British media company, specialising in the production of business to business magazines, and the organisation of events and conferences.
4. Ways to promote magazines? Major labels have the money to use anyway of promoting their magazines and music out to mainstream audience groups. They use a variety of different multi-platforms where you can buy their media products. New technologies would be used to attract the audiences, putting their media up for sale on many social networking sites including bebo and facebook. Then also many online markets like Play.com and Amazon. Reason for this is most young audiences are on the internet regularly, which gives major companies a greater chance of young fans buying their media products and getting money. Which is what they care about the most, getting profit from the audience. Other ways to promote their media products are iTunes and worldwide major stores like Asda and Tesco's.

6. Which media companywould distribute my magazine and why? As I wanted to attract a large audience with my magazine, I believe that having a large company publish my magazine as I think it will bring success to the magazine like it did with Kerrang. Even though independent companies are famous for attracting the audience with the word of mouth, I believe using the multi-platform strategies that major companies like Bauer, I believe can attract a large audience. That is why I will publish my magazine with an major company.
