Dia1: Ik ga mijn presentatie houden over mijn ik-merk. Het doel van deze presentatie is dat ik eentuele toekomstige werkgevers kan overtuigen mij aan te nemen. Dia2: Ik heb eerst nagedacht: Wat is een ik-merk. Ik heb hierbij een brainstorm gemaakt die je ier ziet. Ik wil in gaan op in mijn merk op uitstraling, sfeer en boodschap. Dia3: We hebben voor dit vak allerlei opdrachten moeten maken. Deze moesten we plaatsen op een weblog. Ik ga in de komende dia’s in op wat voor opdrachten ik moest doen. Dia4: Een van de opdrachten hield in dat ik 100 vragen moest bedenken achter elkaar. Bij deze opdracht leerde ik over hoe mijn denkprocessen in elkaar zitten. Ik nijg me aan de oppervlakte te houden,maar ga diep in op interesses. Dia5: Ik heb ook een persoonlijkheidstest gemaakt op de site personaldna.com. Bij deze test kwam er uit dat ik goed kon luisteren, me kon leven in anderen, en dat ik fantasierijk was, kortom: ik was een meelevende dromer. Ik ga nu in op een paar van mijn eigenschappen, die ik heb uitgewerkt. Dia6: Hier heb ik de eigenschap geslotenheid in beeld gebracht. Ik heb de kleur zwart vak gebruikt om dit aan te tonen. Dit is een eigenschap van me die ik wil veranderen: ik wil in de toekomst juist opener worden, wat wel makkelijker zou zijn voor mijn werk later. Dia 7: Hier toon ik de eigenschap vertrouwen in anderen aan. Ik doe dit door in mijn opdrachten objecten in harmonie bij elkaar te plaatsen. Ik vind dat vertrouwen in anderen hebben een goede eigenschap is, alhoewel je er mee op moet passen dat het niet te extreem wordt. Dia8: Deze dia toont de eigenschap fantasierijk. Ik heb in deze werken vooral wit en blauwtinten gebruikt, en wilde de werken een ‘open’ sfeer; geven. Ik vind dat verbeeldingskracht hebben ook iets te maken heft met openheid, omdat je met verbeelding zoveel verschillende kanten opkunt. Dia9: Tenslotte toont deze dia de eigenschap ‘inlevingsvermogen’. Hier zie je dat ik veel warme kleuren gebruikt heb, en deze ook vaak heb laten botsen om aan te tonen dat inlevingsvermogen om twee personen gaat die interesse in elkaar hebben, hoe anders ze ook zijn. Dia10 Nu ga ik in de op de tweede opdracht: de lealeamethode. We moesten anderen vragen ons uit te drukken in 3 woorden. Hier heb ik en moodboard gemaakt van hoe andere mensen mij zien. Wat opvalt is dat ze me zowel introvert als sociaal vinden, en dat ze me intelligent maar ook creatief vinden. Dia 11 Daarna heb ik wat opdrachten gedaan die me inzicht gaven over hoe ik mezelf zag. Ook hiervan heb ik een moodboard gemaakt, die je hier ziet. Hier heb ik links interesses neergezet en rechts zie je dan de eigenschappen, die ik zelf vind te hebben. Dia 12 Na aanleiding van deze opdrachten heb ik geprobeerd een logo te maken. Deze logo heb ik daarna in verschillende kleursettings getest, om te kijken welke kleuren ik het best kon gebruiken. Dia13 Dit is het uiteindelijke resultaat. De logo bestaat uit een boot op een zee. Het past goed bij mijn eigenschappen. Closedness(op een boot zitten), trust(er zijn twee poppetjes) en imaginative (wat ligt er achter de horizon?)komen er in voor. Dia14 Mijn merk-ik staat voor verbeeldingskracht. Het moet tot de verbeelding spreken. Daarbij moet het ook een boodschap hebben en vooral plezierig zijn om naar te kijken. Het moet ook vertrouwen uitstralen. Dia15 Mijn merk moet een unieke sfeer hebben om werkgevers aan te kunnen trekken. Typische imaginaire kenmerken als fantasie, vrij en dromerig zullen terugkomen. Ook wil ik dat mijn werk plezierig is om te ervaren en vooral positief. Dia16 En nu ga ik in op mijn eigenschappen die in het merk voorkomen. De belangrijkste eigenschap wat van mij terugkomt in mijn merk is verbeeldingskracht hebben. Ook zal ik mijn interesses gaan verwerken in design en zal ik mijn sociale vaardigheden gebruiken in contact met werkgevers. Dia 17 Ik wil dat mijn werk niet te vast of te stroef is. Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits. To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups. Technology For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did. While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis. Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad. Age and Gender When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same. Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers. Race Affects Attitudes As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits. To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups. Technology For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did. While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis. Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad. Age and Gender When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same. Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers. Race Affects Attitudes As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).
