2. Hand drawn Drafts Front page (Noise Gate
and Riff)
For these hand draw drafts I have made sue they both contain features that real
popular magazines will have so this will mean that my magazine will look proper and
professional.
These features include cover lines, so the customer will know what they will be
reading, strap line proving that we are a official magazine and lots of other features.

4. Hand Drawn Drafts
• The reason that I have done the hand drawn drafts is so that I can look into further detail in too what my
magazines are going to look like these might not be the finale ones but they will give me a stronger idea of
what people will like and what they will wan to buy. My hand draw drafts are inspired by Q magazine and
Karrang this is because both these magazines are very popular and this means that I should take some ideas
that they have used to make sure that my magazine will be up to the same standard as these high flying
magazines. I have put the masthead in the top left corner because this is where it
was on my example and if a use this style I know that it will work well
with customers
I thought that it would be a good idea to put
in sub images in as it will draw in more people
is there is a lot of content to look at.
I decided to put the strapline near the top
because I wanted it to be one of the first
things the customers rea as I want them to
know what the magazine is about.
The cover lines have been put on the
left as this way I could leave a lot of
room for my main image that I
wanted to take up most of the page as
I wanted people to se he image of my
artist and to be drawn in.
The head line have been put into a
central spot this way the readers
will know what the main article in
on and they will decide weather or
not they like it. I will make sure to
make it a good title to the article to
make sure I draw readers in.

5. Graphic Layout
• The reason that I have made a graphic layout of my magazine is to make sure that
they will look presentable to viewers, because if they are not people will not want
to buy the issue. Furthermore it will give me a visual tick lick so when I am designing
the magazines I will know that I have include everything in the cove page.
• Finally it allows me to get suggestions from people to see what they would like to
change on everyday magazines, and to make sure that I do not make the Same
error.

Colour scheme
The colours on this magazine (Noise Gate) will be red, black and white. This will link with
the genre of the magazine is it is rock and indie based and this types of music will tend to
be dark and the white will make it more pleasing to the audience. Also the colours are
gender neutral and this will mean the the magazine will open up to all genders.
Font style
The font style of my cover lines will be Bradley Hand Bold this is because this style of
writing is curly and smart this will make it easy to read and people will find this writing
appealing to look at and want by the magazine.
Social media
Riff will be in synergy with media because then it will be able to become more well know
and then it should lead to more readers and consumers, as well as publicity.

is curly and rustic this will suit the rock theme that goes with my magazine. Also when it is
big it will draw readers as the writing is different from most other fonts.

and then it should lead to more readers and consumers, as well as publicity.

8. Images of influence
I used this magazine as my magazine of influence
because I liked the lay out of the magazine and the way
that the main image takes up a lot of the page this
meant that it would leave less room for cover lines. I
liked his idea as I think that my target audience would
be more interested by the image than lots of writing.
I also liked the way the magazine used the colours red
and black in the header, masthead and subheading so I
thought I would take the style and put it into my
magazine. However from looking at where the barcode
has been positioned I did not like it as it interfered with
the page so I thought it would be better to put it in the
bottom corner.

11. Finally font choice
I have chosen these as my final header because I think that my target audience will be
mostly attracted to this one. Also it has the right style, as it suites the style of music
that I have chosen to base the magazine. Further more the name have been inspired
by different music terminology this is so viewers will know straight away what the
magazine is going to be about.

12. Interview draft
Me: Hi Matt I heard that you will be releasing a new new
album to go alone with your newest single, is this true?
Matt: Yes Dan this is true it will be coming out in late
November.
Me: Good because you first single that came out was such a
hit with all people.
Matt: I am glad to hear it.
Me :What kind music will be listening to in this album. Will
the same style as before or will it be something that we
have never heard before.
Matt: I have decided to keep this album the same style as
my music before this is because my fans like the style that I
have done before. But I am sure that I will expand on my
music genres later on in my music career.
Me: Do you not think they want to see you doing something
new?
Matt : No not yet as I have only just stared as a full time
successful artist so for now I will show people what my main
style then I might move on to something different later on.
Me: Other than your new album will you be doing anything
else this year or into next year?
Matt : Well once the album is out and I hope it is doing well
my manager is looking into me doing my first tour.
Me: Will this be world wide, Europe or just the UK
Matt: I guess you will have to wait and see because I don’t even know what I am doing yet it is all speculation and depending on
weather this album does well.
Me: I see, I will hope this it does well then then perhaps you could give me four free tickets
Matt: Ah ha I would love to but I don’t think my production team will be so kind.
Me: That’s a shame.
But I cant wait to see you go as an artist.
Any ways how did you get into music.
Matt: Well I have always loved music I played lots of different instruments as a child but I loved to lead with my guitar.
Me: You say lead?
Matt: I played in a band with my friends when I was younger I loved it. It is what really got me into music as I got that rush of
standing on a stage performing.
Me: What happened to this band why did you not all pursue music together.
Matt: We tried are best to keep it going but we were all on different path as some of us went to uni and we were all different
ages trust me we tried.
Me : Well I am sad it hear it but happy that it has put you in this seat in front of me to day.
Matt: Well so am I. I wouldn't’t have changed a thing.
Me : I has been lovely talking to you and I can’t wait to see what you do next.

When taking the photos for my magazine I used a camera it was important to have
a good camera when taking these photos because if the images taken were not a
good quality then the whole front cover and DPS will not look good because the
picture will not look professional and it will bring everything else down with it. This
is why I made sure that is was a good camera that took high quality photos.
I also used a tripod this way I could keep the angle that I wanted and I could keep a
steady photo. This way all the pictures that I took were not distorted I could have
used any of the images that I took.

19. Conclusion
Throughout LO1 I have shown my hand drawn drafts and graphic layouts for my
front cover and DPS this is so I will know what layout I will apply to my front cover
and DPS this will speed up the process, when I come to designing my pages I will
now know where I will position all the features. I also put on my house styles and
my chosen font these where important steps to do as these will be key when
drawing in customers as the font of the header will be the first thing they read and
they colour need to work well together to make it look professional. Next I went on
to talking about my magazine of influence and how it will help me to make sure
that my magazine will look proper and to a standard that will make it onto the
shelves in stores. After this I did a photo-shoot plan this helped me to see what I
will need from my images and how I will need him to be dressed to suit the
style/genre of my magazine, then I talked about what equipment I will use when
taking these photos. Finally I my production this was good as it allowed me to see
how long it will take to publish the magazine and all the steps that will need to be
performed before.
