The big idea is an
exploration of the
students
background or
ethnicity. If
students would like
they can choose a
heritage which is
not their own but I
would suggest that
they may have a
difficult time
staying motivated
on the subject.
Students should
have a wide range
of possibilities in
terms of design
and organization of
the information
they know or
research.
I expect that
students will truly
research elements
for their site. I also
expect that many
will be able to draw
from previous
experiences or
knowledge of their
ethnic background.
I would hope that
students plan
carefully to
organize their
ideas as it relates
to their ethnicity
and plan content
appropriately.
Students should
definitely tell or
reveal information
derived from their
research that may
not be available in
other places or at
least organized in
the way the
designer has
chosen. A
Ethnicity/Heritage
of individuals. I
want individuals
who follow my
lesson to create a
website which
displays many
different elements
of the ethnic
background or
culture. I would
hope that the
elements of
language,flags,
traditions or history
of countries could
be incorporated
into their designs.

The areas I would
include in a rubric
for my lesson are:
Design Aesthetics
(color scheme,text

graphic quality)
Content
Organization
(page/navigation
organization,
citation of sources,
proper use of

HTML/CSS Code
Use:Proper tags,

Content Choice:
Relevant data and

It is important in
this area to choose
5-6 key areas of
assessment and
how it relates to
what you want to
see in the final
product.
This is where you
will make the
lesson fun and
exciting!
Find something to
make it different
and motivational!
During the
presentation of all
the ethnic heritage
websites we will all
bring in a dish
which represents
the country and
have a
party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is where you
write out step by
step how the
lesson is
presented and you
think carefully
about the order of
the information.
This should be
thorough and
include as many
steps as you can
think of!!!!
Begin with
something like....
Step 1.
Introduction: What
ethnic
backgrounds do
we have in our
class? (Lead a
discussion.....)
Step 2. Begin a
planning document
to develop ideas
and organize
potential content.
Continue in order
as you move
through the
lesson...
What can you do
to bring closure...
Can you do a final
presentation....
what will that look
like?
How can you
share the ideas
learned and bring
closure!
How can you
separate yourself
and add elements
so what you
developed is
memorable and
students really
learn. Think about
what makes things
personable and
add personable
ownership to the
content!!!! GOOD
LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

superheroes.
My lesson will
have an
unbelievable

very intersting
videos. On top of
that, there will be a
huge load of
intersting

Students are going
to develop a

based on food.
They can learn
about food from all
around the world.
As well as different

They should put
some research in
to these topics.
I want people to
learn and create a
website about all
different types of
food, such as
Italian, Mexican,
and Chinese etc.
They should just
first learn about
the general topic of
food. Students
should research
this topic to get
accurate
information about
their topic. They
should use what
they already know
so that it will help
them develop this

They should also

how well your

rubric is showing
them what I

I am going to keep
people interested
by creating shorter

better than a few
long videos. They
are going to be
able to be creative.
People love some
type of food so
when they
research this they
will be interested.
Their website can
be based of what
is your favorite
type of food? They
can look up things

is.

Students will know
a certain part of
International
sports. They will
know the history of
certain events, the
major events of a
certain type of
International sport.
They will have
done a 5 page
website that has a
color scheme with
lots of photos and
videos relating to
the topic.
I would asses this
website with a
rubric. The rubric
would include a
point system that
grades the website
on color,
information,
organization,
effort, and skill.
Motivational
speeches that
would get the
people going. Also
good videos that
people would like
to watch and have
fun with.
First you have to
pick a topic inside
of international
sports. Then after
that you have to
research this topic.
After you have
enough
information, you
start creating the
webpage on
notepad. You
have to find
pictures, you have
to use Photoshop.
Then you finish the
webpage.
I would conclude
my lesson by
combining all of
the webpage’s that
were created into
one website that
would branch out
to the others.
My lesson would
be special
because all of
them would be
combined into one
international
webpage. Very
intriguing idea.

My big idea is
movies including
the history of
movies,famous
actors, actresses,
and directors. The
history of movies
includes the
evolution of the
movie industry
from the invention
of the motion
picture to today as
well the history of
movie awards
such as the
Oscars. The idea
can be also be
expanded into
genres of movies
such as action,
comedy, romantic,
science fiction, and
horror.
I am making a
lesson plan for a 5
page website for a
class of students
grades 9-12 on the
topic of movies. I
expect them to use
css, html, and
online reseach
tools, and other
skills that they
have learned this
year. I expect them
to research their
specific topics and
use that
information to
teach the class
about an aspect of
the movies. I
expect them to
draw from their
previous
knowledge of
movies as well as
incorporate what
they learn from
research into their
website. C
My lesson topic is
movies. I want the
people who follow
my lesson plan to
create a website
that highlights a
part of the movie
industry whether it
be current movies,
actors, and
actresses, or
movies, actors,
and actresses
throughout history.
I expect them to
incorporate many
aspects of the
movies including
videos or movie
clips, pictures of
actors and
actresses, a brief
summary of the
history (if they are
focusing on the
current movie
industry),
descriptions of the
genres of movies,
and descriptions of
favorite movies.

Students can also
give feedback to
each other about

Creating your own lesson on web design sheet1

  • 1. 5/16/2012 2:41:00 Mr.Downs The big idea is an exploration of the students background or ethnicity. If students would like they can choose a heritage which is not their own but I would suggest that they may have a difficult time staying motivated on the subject. Students should have a wide range of possibilities in terms of design and organization of the information they know or research. I expect that students will truly research elements for their site. I also expect that many will be able to draw from previous experiences or knowledge of their ethnic background. I would hope that students plan carefully to organize their ideas as it relates to their ethnicity and plan content appropriately. Students should definitely tell or reveal information derived from their research that may not be available in other places or at least organized in the way the designer has chosen. A Ethnicity/Heritage of individuals. I want individuals who follow my lesson to create a website which displays many different elements of the ethnic background or culture. I would hope that the elements of language, flags, traditions or history of countries could be incorporated into their designs. technical skills: HTML Coding CSS Code Photoshop Skills Planning and Content organization Basic computer skills Internet Research and searching skills(images, citing sources, information finding) Please also include any other skill in this area which you think may be necessary to complete this assignment from other learning experiences. Here is where you need to consider ALL of the tools necessary to complete your lesson idea. • 2. Here will list specific goals for learning.(try to begin each goal or objective with "Students will.... or Students will understand or relate with specific concepts intended by your lesson. 1. Students will identify specific facts and cultural elements based on their choice of ethnic topic. 2.Students will organize their content into well organized and content based pages. 3. Students will use a color scheme which connects directly to the nationality of their chosen ethnicity they are examining. With this section be specific about the learning goals as it relates to the concepts, technical elements, research and organization of the process of the student. The areas I would include in a rubric for my lesson are: Design Aesthetics (color scheme, text choice or fonts, graphic quality) Content Organization (page/navigation organization, citation of sources, proper use of code) HTML/CSS Code Use:Proper tags, used appropriately, page well organized. Content Choice: Relevant data and sources to the choice. Proper images and good data. It is important in this area to choose 5-6 key areas of assessment and how it relates to what you want to see in the final product. This is where you will make the lesson fun and exciting! Find something to make it different and motivational! During the presentation of all the ethnic heritage websites we will all bring in a dish which represents the country and have a party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is where you write out step by step how the lesson is presented and you think carefully about the order of the information. This should be thorough and include as many steps as you can think of!!!! Begin with something like.... Step 1. Introduction: What ethnic backgrounds do we have in our class? (Lead a discussion.....) Step 2. Begin a planning document to develop ideas and organize potential content. Continue in order as you move through the lesson... What can you do to bring closure... Can you do a final presentation.... what will that look like? How can you share the ideas learned and bring closure! How can you separate yourself and add elements so what you developed is memorable and students really learn. Think about what makes things personable and add personable ownership to the content!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What are your objectives of your lesson? How would you assess your website lesson? How would you engage your classmates? What will make this lesson engaging? What is the lesson procedure for your project? How would you conclude your lesson? What would make your lesson special?

The student will have some solid sentences on the first page of the website that will show their belief's. The student makes good transitions and shows use of sources other than themselves. The student has used the proper Css and html in the wordpad. I will have questions prepared for them to answer so that they can voice their own opinions and be a part of the presentation. I will develop a website with tabs with topics in relation to the topic of video games. I want people to learn and create a website about all different types of food, such as Italian, Mexican, and Chinese etc. They should just first learn about the general topic of food. Students should research this topic to get accurate information about their topic. They should use what they already know so that it will help them develop this page. They should make a five page website and use Photoshop, adobe flash and Dreamweaver. They should also use online resources. C Block The lesson topic for my website is food. I want students to follow my lesson plan that shows different elements of food. I am hoping they can tie other topics into the main idea of food as well. We have learned how to do HTML and CSS. I have known how to use a computer and research before I came to this class. I took Photoshop before this and this helped for the art potion of making websites. • 8. Objectives are statements. Students will understand and know all different of aspects. They will be making a website having subtopics of food. Students will understand CSS and HTML. They will make connections between food and its subtopics. Students will research their subtopic about food and put this information into their website they are making. For example they should be able to connect different types of deserts to each other. Students will have a color scheme and make and develop a website. Objectives are important so they know what they are looking for. The students must follow the objectives to learn properly. A rubric is important to keep the students on the right task and they now know what is expected. I will grade them on Esthetics, content and information. A rubric is a teaching and assessment tool which is a series of expectations that have different levels. Use CSS, HTML, information retaining to Food, artistic elements, color scheme, and how well your website looks. The rubric is showing them what I expect. I am going to keep people interested by creating shorter videos, this is better than a few long videos. They are going to be able to be creative. People love some type of food so when they research this they will be interested. Their website can be based of what is your favorite type of food? They can look up things online to get inspired for this website. We can show how yummy and delicious food is. 1.) introduce students to the idea and topic of the lesson 2.) have them fill out an outline so organize their ideas 3.) talk over ideas with teacher to make sure on the right track 4.) have them sign up for a topic about the website 5.) create the website 6.) check the rubric 7.) present to the class 8.) grade website I am going to have students present their website at the end. And have them show everyone what they have learned. After presented website they should bring in their favorite food that they researched. Or bring in a dish related to their website. Field trip related to website. Just make it different so it can be memorable. What are your objectives of your lesson? How would you assess your website lesson? How would you engage your classmates? What will make this lesson engaging? What is the lesson procedure for your project? How would you conclude your lesson? What would make your lesson special?
  • 9. 5/21/2012 10:26: 51 Morgan Trevett The big idea is for students to create a website based on the history of television. Students will choose an aspect of television that they find interesting, such as organizations involved in the development of television or the place of television in the past and present cultures. My expectations for this course are to have people think about different television shows, different medias, and the role television has played in the culture of the world. I expect them to have to use HTML, CSS, and internet research tools. They should use a 5 page website that includes various medias, such as embedded videos, to support their ideas and enhance their websites. C The lesson topic for my website is the history of television. I have learned how to use CSS, HTML, a computer, a little Photoshop, and I know how to research. I have also used Dreamweaver to make animations. I also know how to find, organize and present content within a website to make it more attractive to the viewer. Technological tools needed for this project include: the internet, Google search, image search, Adobe Photoshop, computer, Dreamweaver, notepad, and YouTube. I’m hoping that they will use YouTube to embed videos that further enhance their website and make it more interesting for them in creating it. • 12. Students will know a certain part of International sports. They will know the history of certain events, the major events of a certain type of International sport. They will have done a 5 page website that has a color scheme with lots of photos and videos relating to the topic. I would asses this website with a rubric. The rubric would include a point system that grades the website on color, information, organization, effort, and skill. Motivational speeches that would get the people going. Also good videos that people would like to watch and have fun with. First you have to pick a topic inside of international sports. Then after that you have to research this topic. After you have enough information, you start creating the webpage on notepad. You have to find pictures, you have to use Photoshop. Then you finish the webpage. I would conclude my lesson by combining all of the webpage’s that were created into one website that would branch out to the others. My lesson would be special because all of them would be combined into one international webpage. Very intriguing idea. 1. students will identify facts based on their choice of the history of desserts. 2. research and organize their content. 3. complete the website and fill in anything that is need to be done. color scheme, text choices, citations, HTML/CSS code, well organized page. images that relats to the topic. at the end of the lesson, we can bring in one of the dessert that relats to the topic that they worked on. HAVE A PARTY!!! 1. introduce the topic that they will work on. have an introduction on the front page. 2. give more background informations, and culture facts. students should reseach more about the topic. make sure to include the citation. 3. can have videos about how to make the desserts, and pictures of the dessert. 4. how the dessert become popular. 5. design the banner presentation at the final presentation day, everyone can wear clothes and dresses that represent their topic. for example: ice cream hat. • 15. 5/21/2012 11:13: 00 Daisy Hu My big idea is movies including the history of movies, famous actors, actresses, and directors. The history of movies includes the evolution of the movie industry from the invention of the motion picture to today as well the history of movie awards such as the Oscars. The idea can be also be expanded into genres of movies such as action, comedy, romantic, science fiction, and horror. I am making a lesson plan for a 5 page website for a class of students grades 9-12 on the topic of movies. I expect them to use css, html, and online reseach tools, and other skills that they have learned this year. I expect them to research their specific topics and use that information to teach the class about an aspect of the movies. I expect them to draw from their previous knowledge of movies as well as incorporate what they learn from research into their website. C My lesson topic is movies. I want the people who follow my lesson plan to create a website that highlights a part of the movie industry whether it be current movies, actors, and actresses, or movies, actors, and actresses throughout history. I expect them to incorporate many aspects of the movies including videos or movie clips, pictures of actors and actresses, a brief summary of the history (if they are focusing on the current movie industry), descriptions of the genres of movies, and descriptions of favorite movies. • 16. Students will know css and html. Students will make connections between celebrities and movie stars today to the history of movies. Also students will use internet research and have a color scheme in their websites. The rubric will ask these questions to access the website: Did they make a 5 page website? What kind of resources did they use? What knowledge did they incorporate into the website? Did they correctly use css, html, photoshop…etc? Did they find and incorporate videos and images? Is the color scheme appealing? Did they connect their ideas to the big idea? Is the website informational? Did people learn from the website? On the last day everyone can share their websites and bring food such as popcorn and candy to enjoy while people are sharing. If there is extra time, they can share about their favorite movies by providing a brief summary as well as movie clips of their favorite scenes. Or students can all bring their favorite movie then vote on which one to watch, 1. Choose a big idea 2. Narrow down the topic 3. Create a lesson plan or general sketch of the website 4. Research the narrower topic 5. Create a 5 page website using the information you found from researching and previous knowledge. 6. Find images and videos to add to the website 7. Share the website with other students in the class 8. Have a party where people bring food and share their websites On the final day students will bring food and have a party while sharing the content of their website and what they learned from researching. Students can also give feedback to each other about what they think of each others' website so they can improve for next time. My lesson will be interactive since students get to teach each other what they learned and they get to bring food and have a party while they are sharing. What are your objectives of your lesson? How would you assess your website lesson? How would you engage your classmates? What will make this lesson engaging? What is the lesson procedure for your project? How would you conclude your lesson?
