Wait for 30 days if your work is not done file another RTI asking for causes
of delay
By this time your work will be done
If not file an appeal
Your work will be done and you will get ₹25,000 from the officer
5. What is RTI 2005?
Under the provisions of the Act, any citizen may request information from a
"public authority" (a body of Government or "instrumentality of State") which
is required to reply expeditiously or within thirty days.
6. Who is Public Authority?
Under the RTI Act, it is the duty of the PIO and the PIO alone to either provide
information or deny it. PIO will be an officer in the Department.
The applicant then has a option to file a First Appeal. FAA is an superior of PIO
in the same Department
If still not satisfied, then he can file a Second Appeal / Complaint with the
SIC/CIC.
7. Assistant Public Information Officer
So if you want to send a letter to GHMC then you send it to
APIO, GHMC, Hyderabad, Telangana
8. Fees
A citizen who desires to seek some information from a public authority is required to send, along
with the application, a demand draft or a bankers cheque or an Indian Postal Order of Rs.10/-
(Rupees ten), payable to the Accounts Officer of the public authority as fee prescribed for seeking
information.
Take a Indian Postal Order (at Post Office) of ₹20 and write on that State Public Information
officer for State Government
Take a Indian Postal Order of ₹20 and write on that Central Public Information officer for Central
Government
Take a Court Stamp of ₹20 and write on that Presiding officer for Indian Courts

9. Application Format
There is no prescribed format for the application
And no need to mention any reason for asking this information.
But you should be Indian Citizen
10. Application Format ..
Add following lines
I am depositing the application fee of Rs. 20/- (Rupees Twenty only) by way of Postal Order in favour of State
Public Information Officer towards processing of application and for copies.
If this fees is not sufficient please intimate me and I am ready to pay the remaining fee either on receipt of this
information or on receipt of your intimation. Please follow the provision under Section 7(3) of RTI Act, 2005.
Also if your esteemed office thinks it’s apt to provide this information in electronic form like CD or DVD, I am
ready to pay separate fee for the same. Please follow the provision under Section 7(4) of RTI Act, 2005.
If you find that the above requested information does not pertain to your department then please follow the
provision under Section 6(3) of the RTI Act, 2005.
11. Sending Application
Send the application either in Registered Post with Acknowledgement Due
or Speed Post with Acknowledgement Due.
Don’t send it in Courier

14. Recent Developments
There are some efforts to weaken the RTI but it was strongly opposed by RTI
Activists and NGOs.
Political Parties should also be brought under RTI
15. Third Party Information
You can ask for Third Party Information
But it will be given only if the third party agrees to give it after receiving notice
from PIO.
If a document is Public you should be able to get information even without the
consent of third party
The definition of Public Document will change from time to time based on CIC
decisions

17. Fight against Corruption
If you don’t bribe and use RTI then you are doing everything that you can to
stop corruption.
No need to change everyone or fight against mafia to reduce corruption.
