SELECTION PROCEDURE: Only such of those who in the opinion of NFC, suit the organizational requirements,
will be called for personal interview. Final selection and ranking will be on the basis of overall performance

Technical Officers can take up the specified induction training as approved by the Competent
Authority. On successful completion of the said training they may be considered for track change to
“Scientific Officer” at the time of next promotion.

SELECTION PROCEDURE: Candidates for Category-I Trainees will be selected on the basis of Selection Test for
which the schedule will be intimated to the short listed candidates. The Selection Test will be conducted
Online/OMR. Candidates who qualify the same will be called for Physical Fitness examination. Only the
candidates who are found physically fit will be interviewed. Final selection and ranking will be on the basis of
overall performance of the candidates.
SELECTION PROCEDURE Candidates for Category-II Trainees will be selected on the basis of Selection Test for
which the schedule will be intimated to the short listed candidates. The Selection Test will be conducted
Online/OMR. Candidates who qualify the same will be called for Trade Test and Physical Fitness examination.
Only the candidates who are found physically fit will be interviewed. Final selection and ranking will be on the
basis of overall performance of the candidates.
SCOPE OF TRAINING:
a) The selected candidates will have to undergo training either in Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad
or in Zirconium Complex, Pazhayakayal, Tuticorin Dist. Tamilnadu in various aspects of relevant
trades and for meeting stringent requirements of NFC/ Zirconium Complex. The candidates will
not have any choice/option for any particular training program/training place.

b) The performance of the trainees will be assessed during the course of the training period and in
case the performance is not found to be satisfactory, the trainee is liable to be terminated. The
trainees should score minimum 50% marks in Written Examination and Interview for absorption
as Scientific Assistant/B (OR) Technician/B. The candidates who score less than 50% marks in
Written Examination and Interview will not be considered for absorption.
BOND FOR CATEGORY-I TRAINEES: Candidates selected for training will be required to execute a bond to
complete the training and also serve for a minimum period of 04 years after absorption in NFC or any of the
constituent Units of DAE. A trainee who fails to complete the training or serve the Department for 04 years if
offered appointment, will be liable to pay to the Department a sum equivalent to aggregate amount of
stipend received by him during the period of training along with penal interest thereon.
BOND FOR CATEGORY-II TRAINEES: Candidates selected for training will be required to execute a bond to
complete the training and also serve for a minimum period of 03 years after absorption in NFC or any of the
constituent Units of DAE. A trainee who fails to complete the training or serve the Department for 03 years if
offered appointment, will be liable to pay to the Department a sum equivalent to aggregate amount of
stipend received by him during the period of training along with penal interest thereon.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS:
Height Minimum height for male candidates shall be 152 cms and female candidates shall be 148 cms.
Candidates should ensure possessing the minimum height prescribed, before applying for the post.
Weight Minimum/Maximum weight of candidate should be corresponding to the height of the person
within BMI range from 18.5 to less than 25. Candidate with BMI of 17 to 18.5 (mild thinness) and
25 to 27.5 (pre obese) can be considered, subject to otherwise being healthy and further medical
examination, if necessary.
Vision i. Night or Colour blindness shall be a disqualification.
ii. Distant Vision: 6/18 or better (without wearing glasses or any other aid.), correctable to 6/6.
Near Vision: N8 (without wearing glasses or any other aid.) correctable to N6.
iii. Those who are having perforated ear drums need not apply. However, the candidates, who had

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Appointment for all the posts is subject to Medical Examination by the department. Night or
Colour blindness shall be a disqualification for all the posts except Stenographer Gr.II/III.
2. Persons working under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous
bodies should submit “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” at the time of interview.
3. Candidates should possess the prescribed qualification from a recognized
University/Educational Institution on the date of applying for the post.
4. Departmental candidates who have rendered not less than 03 years continuous and regular
service in the same line or allied cadre as on last date of application are eligible for relaxation
in upper age limit as per Government Orders.
5. Age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen will be provided as per rules.
6. Ten Percent of the vacancies can be filled with Ex-Servicemen except for Technical Officer/D.
7. The candidates applying against the reserved vacancies with Orthopedically Handicapped
should have a minimum of 40 percent disability (moderate) certified by the appropriate
Medical Board.
8. Relaxation in the upper age limit of 5 years shall be admissible to all persons who had
ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the
period from the 1st day of January, 1980 to 31st day of December, 1989 provided that the
relaxation in the upper age limit for appearing at any examination shall be subject to the
maximum number of chances permissible under the relevant rules.
Certificate regarding proof of residence – any person intending to avail of relaxation of age
limit admissible under rule 3 shall submit a certificate from:
a) The Dist. Magistrate in the Kashmir division within those jurisdiction he had ordinarily
resided; or
b) Any other authority designated in this behalf by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir to
the effect that he had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir division of the State of
Jammu & Kashmir during the period from the 1st day of January, 1980 to 31st day of
December, 1989.
c) Relaxation in the upper age limit of 5 years shall be admissible to children/family
members of those who died in the 1984 riots.
9. Period of experience (where applicable) as prescribed in the advertisement will be reckoned
as on 12.04.2014.

10. Posting of the selected candidates would be at the discretion of the Competent Authority as
per the availability of vacancies. They are liable to serve in any part of India, in any
constituent unit of the Department of Atomic Energy.
11. COPIES OF CERTIFICATES TO BE SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW: Shortlisted Candidates are
required to produce printout of online application along with originals and attested copies of
certificates mentioned below at the time of Trade Test/ Interview.
a. Educational qualifications and technical qualifications (supported by appropriate
mark sheets indicating the subjects offered at the examinations).
b. Date of birth/Proof of age.
c. SC and ST certificate should be issued by authorized authority in the prescribed
format and the caste/community should have been included in the Presidential
orders in relation to the concerned state.
OBC certificate should be issued by authorized authority in the prescribed format with
non-creamy layer certificate and the caste/community should have been included in
the Central lists of Other Backward Caste. The crucial date for determining the OBC
non-creamy layer certificate will be the closing date of online application. OBC for
the purpose of AGE RELAXATION AND RESERVATION shall mean “persons of OBC
categories not belonging to the Creamy Layer” as defined in Government of India,
Department of Personnel & Training OM No.36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT) dated 08.09.93
and modified vide Government of India, Department of Personnel & Training OM
No.36033/3/2004-Estt.(Res) dated 09.03.2004.
d. Disability Certificate from the appropriate authorityregarding physical disability.
e. Proof to the effect that they have been affected by 1984 riots.
f. Certificate regarding domiciled in Kashmir Division from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 (if
claiming age relaxation for Kashmir division).
g. Ex-Servicemen Certificate.
12. Important Requirement of Physical Disability Certificate:
i) According to the persons with disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights
and Full Participation) Rules, 1996 notified on 31/12/1996 by the Central Government
in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and (2) of Section 73 of the
Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full
Participation) Act, 1995 (1 of 1996)], a disability certificate shall be issued by a Medical
Board duly constituted by the Central or a State Government. The Central/State
Government may constitute a Medical Board consisting of at least three members, out of
which, at least, one member shall be a Specialist from the relevant field.
ii) The certificate would be valid for a period of 5 years for those whose disability is
temporary. The Medical Board shall indicate the period of validity of the certificate
where there are chances of variation in the degree of disability. For those who acquired
permanent disability, the validity can be shown as permanent. On representation by the
applicant, the Medical Board may review its decision having regard to all the facts and
circumstances of the case and pass such orders in the matter as it thinks fit.
iii) Those SC/ST/OBC persons with disabilities selected on their own merit without relaxed
standards along with other candidates, will be considered against unreserved vacancies
provided the post is identified for persons with disability of relevant category. (as
applicable).
13. ELIGIBILITY FOR SPORTS PERSONNEL
Sports Persons who have represented:
i) State in a national or the Country in an international Competition in any of the
games/sports mentioned in the list below.
ii) Their University in the Inter University Tournaments conducted by the Inter University
Sports Board in any of the games/sports mentioned in the list below.

iii) The State Schools Team in the National Sports/Games for School conducted by the All
India School Games Federation in any of the games/sports mentioned in the list below.

Note: In case suitable candidates are not available in any of the above games/Sports, the

14. AGE: Age will be reckoned as on 12.04.2014.
15. The candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC should clearly indicate the same in the application
(even if they apply against UR posts) and should attach proof of the same in the specified
format failing which they will be treated as unreserved and subsequent representations for
change of community status will not be entertained.
16. Before applying for the post, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfill all the eligibility
norms. The candidates should have the requisite Educational/technical qualifications from
recognized University/Institute as on the date of submission of the application. They should
produce attested copies, certificates, mark sheets in support of having the requisite
qualification and originals for verification along with copy of their application at the time of
trade test/interview. Candidates fulfilling all the eligibility norms will only be allowed to
appear for trade test/ interview.
17. On their appointment, they are liable to be posted to Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad,
Zirconium Complex, Pazhayakayal, Tuticorin, NFC, Kota or in any other constituent units of
NFC/DAE.
18. On their appointment they will be governed by New Contributory Pension Scheme as notified
by Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Government of India vide Notification
No.F.No.5/7/2003-ECB & PR dated 22.12.2003.
19. All the above advertised posts except Technical Officer/D are governed by the Industrial
Establishment. The Category-I/II Trainees (on absorption as SA and Technician) are
classified as Technical category. Promotions to Technical Officer, SA and Technician to the
next higher grades are governed by the merit promotion scheme of the Department of Atomic
Energy.

Candidates may indicate their choice of Examination center in the order of preference
(maximum three) in their Application form. Allocation of centers will be decided based on the
number of candidates registering for each centre. Requests for change of Centre once
allocated will not be entertained.
25. TRAVELLING ALLOWANCE:
Unemployed SC/ST candidates called for written test/interview from outstations will be
eligible for reimbursement of journey expenses limited to single SECOND CLASS (General)
railway fare each from the place of normal residence to the place of Examination center and
back by the shortest route as per rules subject to production of un-employment certificate
from MP/MLA/Gazetted Officer. If concessional tickets are available, reimbursement will be
limited to the concessional return fare only. Candidates are requested to submit their claims
in the prescribed proforma available in the website along with their tickets and un-
employment certificate at the examination venue for reimbursement.
HOW TO APPLY:
User Guide is available on the Website duly explaining the procedure to apply, upload the
form and generate challan for payment of Application fee.
i) The applicants have to read the User Guide for online submission of applications and then
proceed further.
ii) Hand Written/Typed/Photostat copies/outside printed application form will not be accepted.
iii) For any clarification related to online submission and downloading of Hall-Tickets please
send e- mail to e-mail id given on the website contact page.
iv) Documents to be uploaded along with the application form:
a. Candidates recent passport size photo of (Max size-30KB)
b. Signature of the candidate of (Max Size-15KB)
c. SSC Marks memo (Age proof)
d. Caste Certificate/Local ST Certificate (If applicable)
e. Proof of Ex-Servicemen, Physical Disability Certificate.

1) Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC) is not responsible, for any discrepancy in submitting details
through Online. The applicants are therefore, advised to strictly follow the instructions
and user guide in their own interest.
2) The particulars furnished by the applicant in the Application Form will be taken as final, and
further processing of the application will be based on these particulars.
3) Before uploading / submission Application form, the candidates should be cautious and
ensure his/her eligibility for this prescribed written examination and other tests. No
relevant column of the application form should be left blank.

The selected candidates will be posted at Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad or at Zirconium Complex, Pazhayakayal, Tamilnadu or in any other constituent units of the Department of Atomic Energy in India. The details of posts and the norms specified for these posts are as under:- TECHNICAL OFFICER/D NO. OF POSTS : 02 (UR) PAY BAND & ENTRY PAY: PB-3 ` 15600-39100 with GP ` 6600/- & ` 25,350/- incl. GP @ ( @ Plus usual Allowances as admissible to Central Government Employees) Post Code Discipline No. of Vacancies Educational Qualification Experience required Area of Experience 101 Mechanical 01 (UR) M.E/M.Tech (OR) B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks. 02 years 04 years Safety in design/ engineering/manufacturing/ metallurgical/ chemical/ pharmaceutical/fabrication/ construction/enforcement/faculty in industry/institutions. Preference will be given to those having Diploma in Industrial Safety from Central/Regional Labour Institutes OR PG Degree/Diploma recognized by Central/State Governments as additional qualification. 102 Electrical 01 (UR) M.E/M.Tech (OR) B.E/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks. 02 years 04 years Safety in design/ engineering/ manufacturing/ metallurgical/chemical/ pharmaceutical/fabrication/ construction/enforcement/faculty in industry/institutions. Preference will be given to those having Diploma in Industrial Safety from Central/Regional Labour Institutes OR PG Degree/Diploma recognized by Central/State Governments as additional qualification. AGE LIMIT : Maximum 40 years as on 12.04.2014. SELECTION PROCEDURE: Only such of those who in the opinion of NFC, suit the organizational requirements, will be called for personal interview. Final selection and ranking will be on the basis of overall performance of the candidates.
  • 2. 2 Technical Officers can take up the specified induction training as approved by the Competent Authority.
