The poem is about a loving wife who becomes addicted to gambling after the death of her child. Initially she is a caring mother and wife, but falls into gambling to cope with her sorrow over losing her son. Her gambling addiction grows until it angers her husband. The central theme is selfishness, as she becomes concerned only with her own happiness through gambling and neglects her husband, who also grieved the loss of their child.

= The speakerin the poem is the wife who addicted in gambling

= The poem is all about a loving and caring wife to her husband and
suddenly become a mother but unfortunately God took awayher child so she
felt strongly sorrow but she finds a way to be happy againand she found a
gambling and became addicted to it until her husband become angry because
of her gambling .

= The theme of the poem is Selfishness becauseshe is more concernedwith
her happiness only and she does not think that her husband was also hurt. She
did not think that she was not only the one who lost the child also her husband
that also devastatedby the loss of his son.

= The structure of the poem is free verse because it has no rhythm, rhyme
and the author does not follow a pattern.

= The tone of the poem in the first part of the poem is happy because she
was happy with her husband that love one another until she became a happy
mother but in the secondpart of the story the tone became sorrow because
her sonwas died unexpectedly until in the third part of the story she became
happy againbut her own happiness only .

= Yes the poem use imagery in the line of
" A crystalline mirror
Of the beauty of union and amour "
It affects the sense of sight .

= There are many values I learned in this poem, one of this as a Filipino is
love your family most than the other because family is more important , they
are the one who always there for you , they are the one who will stay for you
no matter what happen and they are the one who loves you the most.
Gambling is just for fun but if you love and give more attention than your
family, it will affects your relationship. Yes , Gambling gives happiness but in
the end it will ruin your life too. I also learnedas a student that I should
acceptwhat is God's will . If my destiny is to become a CPA, I should thankful
to God and if not , I still thankful because maybe there is something that
much better for me . Only God knows and I know that he will give us better
opportunities or chances in life just believe and have faith.
