Scenes from and information about the 2018 Welding Competition, sponsored primarily by Tulsa Welding School of Jacksonville, held at Colquitt County High School March 2, 2018
2. 63 Students from 7 Schools Participated
• Entrants are required to create lap, butt, and T-welds using the gas
metal art welding and shielding metal art welding processes.
• Entrants are scored on their ability to read a blueprint, measure, the
appearance of their weld bead, clean up, and adherence to safety
procedures.
• A written exam is administered to all students to be used as a
tiebreaker if necessary.
• Each participant received a $500 scholarship to Tulsa Welding School.

• 3rd Jose Moreno of Colquitt County High School (25% scholarship to
Tulsa Welding School in Jacksonville)
• 2nd Efrain Gonzalez of Colquitt County High School (50% scholarship
to Tulsa Welding School in Jacksonville)
• 1st Jesus Gonzalez of Colquitt County High School (100% Scholarship
to Tulsa Welding School in Jacksonville)
