Affective Test For Frisbee Golf
1. Affective Test for Frisbee Golf
Chris Rhodes and Chad Ward
Purpose: To assess the students on team building elements
such as positive reinforcement/feedback, positive interaction
between students before and after the activity and following
the rules of the game set by the teacher.
Student Instructions: We are going to be playing three holes of
Frisbee Golf today, so I am going to need everyone to focus not
only on their own game but also the others that you will be
playing with. We also want to try to apply our four criteria to
our gameplay. The grading criteria is as follows: not talking
during a student’s shot, encouraging a player before or after a
shot, helping spot the location of someone’s shot and finally
aiding a student’s game in regards to discs, distance, or body
position. Each hole will be a different distance than the next for
scoring. Hole 1 will be a Par 3 hole with a distance of 40 yards.
Hole 2 will be a Par 4 hole with a distance of 50 yards. Hole 3
will be a Par 5 hole with a distance of 65 yards. Each player will
“tee off” off of the tee box and then proceed through the hole.
Teacher Instructions: You will evaluate the students on their
non-skill participation within the activity. The emphasis will be
put on the students attitudes and actions towards others and
helping with the actual game and the strategies that
accompany it.
2. Equipment: 3 Baskets, 15-20 Frisbees, 3 Tee Boxes (15 Cones)
Scoring Procedure: We will have a checklist that will grade the
student’s actions towards other players as well as the flow of
the game. We will either check “Yes” or “No” for the students
actions and thus come up with a final grade by using the
checklist.
3. Scoring Criteria/Grading:
A: 14-11 points B: 10-7 points C: 6-3 points F: 3-0 points
Action: Yes No

a hole is completed.
(3pts.)
5. Test Modifications:
In order to make this affective assessment accessible to all
students, we will have a modified test that will include modified
testing zones as well as different criteria that the student will
be tested on. For example, if a student that was limited to a
wheelchair was to take this test, we would have them use a
twisting or rocking motion with their upper body (if possible).
We would grade them on their shoulder and elbow motion. We
will still grade them on their final placement of their chair
instead of their feet. Their chair may not continue rolling or tip
forward during the action of their throw. The grading criteria
for release of Frisbee and final landing will be modified to a
distance that is appropriate for them. The affective test criteria
will still be used with them even though they will need
modifications for the skills assessment of the activity.
Tasks for Non-Testing Students:
There will be a designated warm up area where the students
who are not testing at a particular time may practice their
rocking motion and throw. The students may also give
encouragement to others who are in play and also help with
spotting and judging distances towards the hole.
