Loved by college students across the globe, instant noodles are a cheap and extremely easy to prepare food source, but how did this modern marvel come to be? In this presentation I’ll talk about the history and societal impact of instant noodles from their inception in 1958 up through “space ramen” that was invented for Shuttle Discovery’s 2005 mission and beyond, cramming as many colorful asides and factoids as is humanly possible in 5 minutes.
