Learning about co-ordinates by using a large grid of the
floor and moving objects to different places and locations.

Year 3 children link maths to French in an exciting fruit lesson
Year 4

Children begin to use
4 digit grid references
to create their own
battle ship game.
Using a map of Bournemouth, Year 4 are able to use their 4
digit grid references confidently.
All classes
display
appropriate
maths
vocabulary that
the children can
access when
they need to.
This supports
accurate
spelling.
Children are able to link their understanding of
fractions, decimals and percentages in Year 4.
A Year 5 and 6 project on time supported all abilities in their
planning of a trip to either Paultons Park or abroad.
Children followed clear success criteria to ensure consistency
and yet allow for open interpretation.
Number lines supported children planning of their day out.
Our most able Year 6 children extended their learning to ensure
value for money when costing their trip
Our more able Year 6
children took part in an
in depth investigation of
fractions

their level and age.
