The main character Macbeth is a puppet controlled by the words coming from the three witches and

reader that Macbeth is respectable. However, after Macbeth interacts with the three witches, his
curiosity is stirred by their prophecies, especially their prediction that he will become king. He
commits murder in order to fulfill their prophecy and then returns to the three witches a second time
for reassurance. The three witches, with the aid of three apparitions, then revealed to Macbeth in Act
5, Scene 1 the following prophecies:

In this essay I will be discussing who is responsible for the death of
King Duncan In Shakespeare's play 'Macbeth'.
The main character in the play, Macbeth, murders King Duncan. However,
I feel that he was not totally to blame. I believe that both Lady
Macbeth and the three witches played a part in his death and this should not be overlooked.
The three witches are all sisters. We first meet the witches in the very first scene of the play when
they are on the heath casting a spell. Shakespeare sets the mood of the play by having them on the

Macbeth killed his entire family. He felt guilty for living his family alone in Scotland without

is Lady Macbeth sleeping walking towards the end of the play. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth killed
the king of Scotland (Duncan) and she is feeling guilty for what she has done. Also, she doesn't
like what her husband has done like killing Macduff's whole family. She feels as if she was
responsible for that. In a result of that she ends up sleep walking and eventually killing herself
because she couldn't live with the guilt anymore. The guilt of killing Duncan literally ate at Lady
Macbeth and destroyed her to the point of suicide. Macbeth feels guilty for killing Duncan.
