Training a dog to obey commands can be difficult. It can be even more difficult if the dog is young
and disobedient. Today, I will be teaching you how to train your dog to do simple commands, such
as sit, shake, and lay down.
II.How to train your dog to do simple commands.
A.This is my dog Hurley.
1.He is a lab mix. He is a mix lab, Border collie, and English pointer.
2.He is about eight months old and I started teaching him simple command when he was three
months old.
3.Hurley is very hyper and friendly. Most puppies are harder to train if they are hyper, but it can be

b.Also, when teaching your dog to lay down, it is helpful to take a treat up and bring it down to the

3.To help your dog understand what they are doing it is always a good idea to praise him or her
when he or she does the command correct.
a.You can praise him or her by giving them a treat.
b.Another way to praise your dog is by petting him or her and telling him or her that he or she did a
good job.
III.Training your dog can be challenging, but it can also be fun for you and your dog. It is also a
great way to interact with him or her. There are certain keys to success that you should follow and
again are repetition, hand movements, and praising him or her. Always start with the simple

frightened rats away from restaurants. They hunted animals and pulled heavy items over snowy

effect, they were not considered as pets because they had a bad odor and were way too filthy to be

Having a pet is a wonderful idea. Pets bring companionship, personality, and gut wrenching humor
to households across the world. Having previously owned both a cat and a dog, and currently being
without a pet, I began to think about getting a new furry friend. Born a dog lover, and bred into a cat
lover, I had the difficult decision of choosing one of the two.

I never could quite figure out Vegas' love of the window. I understood there was a lot of action
going on that he was taking in: the birds flying by and the squirrels climbing trees, but it was like
the window screen was his safety net, and everything outside of that was hot lava. If I even tried
to carry him outside the door he would instantly tense up, claw into my shoulder, and make a Carl
Lewis leap back inside. I made the horrible mistake of purchasing a cat walking apparatus in an

he performs it and then give him praise. Repeat this several times with any command you are
teaching so that he gets the hang of it.

Introduction: Today I will persuading my audience the benefits of getting adog as a pet. Dogs can
offer companionship, protection and even improve your health. Sixty eight percent of U.S
households own a pet according to the 2017–2018 National Pet Owners Survey calculated by
American Pet Products Association (APPA), and majority of the pets owned are dogs, weighing
in at sixty percent. Dogs are domesticated animals that consist of various breeds such as Yorkie
Terriers, German shepherds and more. There are over three hundred breeds according to the World
Canine organization. This organization is the largest registry of certified dog breeds. This canine
organization recognizes three hundred and thirty nine breeds of dogs which are classified into ten
groups based on the dog's function or size. There are various unique breeds that can fit into one's
specific lifestyle, giving no excuse not to have a dog to compliment ones personality.
Main point one: Companionship is important to have in your life, even if it comes from your dog.
When life gets stressful it's nice to have a companion to play with, take a walk with or even cheer
you up. Companionship can be hard to come by with humans sometimes and easily found in
dogs. While their personalities vary according to the breed of the dog, one characteristic remains
the same, their loyalty. Dogs make great listeners, maybe because they can't tell you to stop

Ever since I was a child, when I would return home I always looked forward to that fluffy, "ball of
fur" who ran to the door every time I walked into the house, jumping in circles, wagging his or her
tail relentlessly with a big smile on its sweet, furry face. That would instantly put a smile on my

Growing up, we always had a dog in the family. Each one lived a long life in dog years, and each

Toby would bark at them and let them know she was watching them; she nipped quite a few in the

Boomer was one of the best dogs I ever had; he was a yellow Labrador Retriever. Ever since I was

All of the sudden, Boomer stopped eating and wouldn't stand up to go outside. I was scared that
my dog would die. A couple of days later he did. I recall waking up and him being gone. I asked
my mom, "Where is Boomer?" and she answered, "Your dad and grandpa took him to the vet to
be put down." I started crying as soon as she gave me this tragic news. Boomer dying was one of
the worst things that has happened in my life. At school that day, I told Will all about it. I cried at
school and didn't want to do anything. I wanted his food and water bowl taken away so I would
forget all about what happened. Most mornings I would wake up crying about Boomer. I would
