How does your media product represent particular social
                      groups ?


 Although our media product sticks to the themes and
 conventions of feature films. We would like to think that we
 have broken the boundary of showing mental health in
 comedy.



 Our film introduces two characters who are the direct
 opposites of each other. One of the characters being
 obsessively clean to the point of OCD, and the other being
 completely scruffy and disgusting.
Mainstream   Independent
 The audience for our film would be teens from
  the age of 14-18.
 This film would appeal to that age group because
  it includes issues that affect them, for example
  the daily morning routine before school .
 Our film is aimed at teens who enjoy
  drama/comedies and socially real dramas such
  as Skins or the In-betweeners on television.
How did you attract/address your audience?



 creating an enigma
  By creating questions that the audience would want answers to (are these twins, are they
  related?)



 using music
We used a contemporary soundtrack that would appeal to a young audience



 Mode of Address
we wanted to address our audience in a way that did not make them seem young and
  stupid. Offering real characters that are not ‘fake’ in any way
How do you attract/address an audience?

 We used bright contrasting colours with each of the characters to match
  their characters. The neat twin has light pastel colored. We hoped that this
  attention to detail would attract the audience
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing
                                  this product?


               •Technologies made our film and made us into prosumers

               •Open source software. We media allowing us to create quality

               •Creativity. Technologies meant we could be very creative

               •Professional editing software
 In order to make our film we had to learn to use Final Cut Pro.
 We also learnt to use celtex to create our script

We learnt a great deal as we progressed from the
 preliminary task. We have learnt that making a
film needs a lot of research and strong planning
         with a greater amount of detail

  2. GenreOur film is a cross between a socially realist comedy like Little Miss Sunshine and Step brothers extreme characters. We have aimed our teen drama/comedy at teens from the ages of 14-18 because it has humor that will appeal to those ages.
  3. Our film doesn’t challenge many conventions. The only thing that could be considered breaking a convention is the fact that we explored mental health in teenage lives, this could be considered breaking a convention because we tried to put this across comically by using contrapuntal music to add an element of humor. We didn’t challenge any filmic conventions we used Match on Action and used Jump cuts to illustrate our ideas and the characteristics of each character. The forms and conventions we used didn’t weren’t contradicting other media products. We filmed it conventionally using medium, large and close up shot sizes and included jump cuts. This doesn’t really break any conventions.
  4. Our film doesn’t challenge many conventions. The only thing that could be considered breaking a convention is the fact that we explored mental health in teenage lives, this could be considered breaking a convention because we tried to put this across comically by using contrapuntal music to add an element of humor. Our film folows many of the conventions of teen comedies with the characters the use of mise en scene as well as using a modern song that the audience would identify with

I feel that this product could appeal to teenage groups because it introduces mental health in to a teenage genre.
  6. -A lot of films in the comedy genre open their films with music that attracts the audiences. For example Step Brothers uses A punk by Vampire Weekend to set the tone of their film. We did this too by trying to set an atmosphere for the film.
  7. We used bright contrasting colours with each of the characters to match their characters. The neat twin has light pastel coulered things around her in this shot, where as the scruffy twin has red and black things sorrounding her. We did this to give insight in to their characters.
