2. WHAT WENT WELL
• Use of different angles
• Non-additive dissolve using coloured shots contrasting with the black
and white shots layered on top of each other
• The contrast of colour shots against a black and white video
3. THINGS TO IMPROVE
• Focusing on getting better quality images
• Using a fish eye lense rather than an effect
• Building more of a defined narrative
4. FILMING AND EDITING
To get the overlapping of coloured shots on
top of black and white footage, I used the non-
additive dissolve effect and placed it in the
middle just where the coloured flower shots
were ending and the black and white video
footage was beginning to create and
overlapping fade.
5. FILMING AND EDITING
I used a black and white filter (under
image control on premiere) on every
shot excluding the flowers and trees as
I wanted the colours in them to stand
out and provide a contrast to not only
the black and white footage but the
overal mood of the video – acting as a
seperator to the angst the character is
6. FILMING AND EDITING
Here I filmed some shots of outside of my house, focusing on the streetlight
highlighting parts of the street such as the tops of cars and the parts of
pavement that are directly underneath. To call attention to this furthermore, in
editing I used a lighting effect that accentuates the brightness of the
streetlight, making the overall shot look a lot more cinematic
7. FILMING AND EDITING
I used a fish eye effect for some shots to really add to the overall 90’s feel
of the video. This is also a heavily used element of the film ‘mid 90’s’ that I
took heavy inspiration from however I did not use a physical lense to film
these parts but an app called ‘fish eye lens’ and expanded the size of the
footage by 180% in editing.
