Why is Drugs a
Bad Idea?
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)
(Filipino: Kawanihan ng Pilipinas Laban sa Droga) is the
lead anti-drug law enforcement agency, responsible for
preventing, investigating and combating any
dangerous drugs, controlledprecursors and essential
chemicals within the Philippines.
How much is a gram of
methamphetamine (shabu)?
Price of methamphetamine
• 10 g (90,000 pesos)
• 5 g (45,000 pesos)
• 1 g (9,000 pesos)
• 2 g (18,000 pesos)
• 0.1 g (3,000 pesos)
• 0.3 g (1,500 pesos)
Prices of Basic Neccesecities
Price of Basic Necessities
• Rice
How many kilos of rice can you buy with the
value of 0.1 grams of shabu?
Price of Basic Necessities
• Sardines
How many cans of sardines can you buy with
the value of 0.1 grams of shabu?
= 2000 Php
Price of Basic Necessities
• Coffee
Expensive… its that simple
• Just for a few hours of high (3 hours)
you’ve just wasted a months worth
of food.
• 10 grams of shabu is worth 70,000
pesos
• What can you buy with 70,000?
The Vicious
Cycle of Drug
Abuse
A Drug Lord Injects
a Pusher in a
Community
The Drug Lord then
Supplies Free Drugs to
the Community
When a group of users are
already addicted to
dangerous drugs,
The Drug Lord abruptly
cuts the supply of freebies
Users now are already
addicts, since the free drugs
are already cut off, they now
buy their dose of drugs.
They now work to feed their
addictions, food on the table is
gone, bills are starting to pile up,
automatically they do not perform
in their jobs, eventually they will
get fired.
Now jobless they start
selling their properties to
feed their addictions
Eventually, all properties
and belongings are gone,
their families leave them
because of their erratic
behaviors.
Couple overdosed leaving their child
unattended
Another angle
Now alone and penniless they
now resort to criminality to feed
their addictions.
They will start to commit
robberies (which can lead
to homicides) and theft.
OR
They can start
selling drugs to
continue the Vicious
cycle
The number of addicts and
pushers grow, lets be frugal
about the number of people
who will be hooked and
eventually become pushers.
one will become ten,
ten will become one
hundred, one hundred
will become thousands
The ADDICT will
eventually become
a PUSHER
THE PUSHER ALSO AN ADDICT WILL
EVENTUALLY USE HIS STASH OF
ILLEGAL DRUGS
NOW, THE DRUG LORD WILL NOTICE WHY THE
SALES OF ILLEGAL DRUGS ARE GOING DOWN
YET HE KEEPS ON SUPPLYING DRUGS TO THE
COMMUNITY. HE THEN FINDS OUT THAT HIS
TRUSTED DEALER USED THE ILLEGAL DRUGS
FOR HIS OWN CONSUMPTION
WHAT
HAPPENS
NEXT?
SINCE HE HAS A LOT OF
DEALERS ON HAND, HE
NOW MAKES AN
EXAMPLE OF THE
DEALER WHO USED HIS
SUPPLY.
AN EXAMPLE OF A DEALER WHO USED
HIS SUPPLY.
And another
Drug dealers are executed in the
most horrifying ways just to make
a point. Drug Lords wont tolerate
theft in their syndicate.
So where is the DRUG LORD? He is
somewhere enjoying the fruits of his
labor at the cost of others.
There is an unspoken rule with regards to drug
lords
“don’t use what you sell”
Even drug lords know
that their illegal
drugs isn't good for
them.
