1. CDA REGIONAL OFFICE 1 CONDUCTS VIRTUAL RECOGNITION OF
COOPERATIVES AND ITS PARTNERS
Dagupan City. On October 16, 2020, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA)
RO1 recently conducted a virtual special recognition ceremony for cooperatives that
leveled up their assets, partner agencies, and private sectors who, in one way or
another, supported the cooperatives through their respective programs either financially
and technically. The awarding was aired thru Tulong Balita Online.
The Guest of Honor and Speaker was,

Santos, Board of Director III,
Oversight Head on Public Utilities
delivered an inspiring and informative
message during the activity. He
stressed the need for cooperatives to
step-up to ease the consequences of
having a new normal as they take part
in the COVID-19 response. He also
discussed the policy thrusts programs
and activities which the CDA – Board of Directors are presently working on underscoring
the organization and registration of transport cooperatives and the celebration of
transport day for every cooperative month.
The CDA RO1, by way of special recognition, identified thru its database the following
registered cooperatives in the region which have increased their net worth or has
leveled-up so to speak for the periods 2019 (January – December) & 2020 (January –
September)

2. A total of 12 partner agencies were
recognized (NGAs/LGUs); Moreover, special
awards were given to four Laboratory Coops
for the growth of their savings deposits
namely: NSCC Laboratory Cooperative,
SACDECO laboratory Cooperative, SHSC
laboratory Cooperative, and Agoo Montessori
Laboratory Cooperative. LGU Bayambang
was recognized for assisting the 1st Online
registered Cooperative – “Rancheros de Balon
Bayambang Agriculture Cooperative (RDBBAC)”
assisted by, Koop Kapatid Big brother - San
Juan Teachers and Employees Multi Purpose
Cooperative and Tulong Balita Online was
also given appropriate recognitions.
All in all, the CDA RO1 awarded 95 organizations who helped build the socio
economic standing of their communities and our partners who likewise supported
the cooperatives in their programs and the private sector for airing our programs
regularly through their online platform.
This coming October 31, 2020, will be the GAWAD PARANGAL 2020: A
RECOGNITION OF KOOP BAYANIHAN EFFORTS DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC
following the approved guidelines for recognizing cooperatives through Board
Resolution No. 198, S-2020, dated July 29, 2020.
A total of 330 cooperatives will be awarded for their assistance to fight the effects
of COVID19, and the number of cooperatives and the total amount contributed are
as follows: Pangasinan 118 cooperatives with Php 30,876,284.60; La union 69
cooperatives with Php 17,520,812.95; Ilocos Sur with 67 cooperatives with
Php 30,071,140.60; and Ilocos Norte 76 cooperatives with Php 35,809,479.00.
This goes to show that the Bayanihan spirit among cooperatives is imbibed
in their culture. Pagtutulungan, pagdadamayan at pagbibigayan ay naramdaman
ng mga kababayan natin sa panahon ng pandemya. Our sincere and heartfelt
