This highly secure and intelligent National Data Warehouse is the central
hub of NADRA’s extraordinary strength and growth in the last 8 years.
NADRA’s National Data warehouse hosts the data of over 96 million
citizens
NADRA set out on the journey of Civil Registration of all Pakistanis in
March 2000

system for re-
registering 150
million citizens,

Multi-Biometric

Identity Card
project

replaced the
paper based
Personal
Identity System
of Pakistan that
had been in use
since 1971.

8. NADRA has been placed amongst the Top 50 e-Passport
Technology Suppliers for 5 consecutive years in ID World Magazine
NADRA has been awarded The Merit Exporter Award by Federation
of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) in 2006
NADRA’s Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Usman Y. Mobin was
awarded the “ID Talent Award” in November, 2007
NADRA Quality Management and CNIC Production departments
are also ISO 9001:2000 Certified.
NADRA has successfully achieved Capability Maturity Model
Integration (CMMI) from Software Engineering Institute (SEI)
Carnegie Melon, USA.

9. National Registration act 1973 The functions of NADRA are
regulated through NADRA Act 2000, the firm is well
versed will NADRA laws and provides it’s valuable services
to the clients on all disputes regarding identity of the
person, disputed identity cards, person having more than
one cards, cancellation of cards and cognizance of
offences under NADRA Act 2000

10. The primary functions of Interior Division are to ensure internal security.
Besides, the Interior Division deals with:
• National registration of population and issuance of identity cards.
• Nationality, citizenship and naturalization.
• Immigration, passports, regulation of entry and exit of foreigners.
• Control and administration of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Civil Armed Forces i.e.
Frontier Corps, Frontier Constabulary, Pakistan Rangers and Coast Guards, Capital
Development Authority and Islamabad Capital Territory.
• Coordination of Policy matters relating to Police, Police reforms and training of Police
officers through National Police Academy (NPA).
• Anti-smuggling measures and enforcement of Anti-corruption Laws.
• Arms policy, issuance of licenses for non-prohibited weapons.
• Policy coordination and higher training of Civil Defence.
• Coordination of jail reforms with Provinces and training of Jail staff at Central Jail Staff
Training Institute (CJSTI), Lahore.
