relating to web 2.0 tools, social
media, CPD and library
advocacy.
Step 1
Initially decide what you will badge and why you need to use a Digital Open Badge.1
Choose provider & pay fee. We chose the Open Badge Factory
and were sponsored by the LAI.2
Create your badge: design the visuals & write the criteria behind it.
This should state what the learner has to do to earn the badge and it must provide
evidence of achievement.
These are visuals of the 5 Digital Open Badges created for Rudaí 23
4 Advertise, publicise & make your Digital Open Badge available.

Learner accepts and receives badge, stores in Open Badge passport,
and shares on their digital portfolio & on social media.
Evaluate applicants and award badges based on eligibility.

  • 1. 3 Transformative CPD in our library workforce: using Open Digital Badges as accreditation in Rudaí 23 DIGITAL OPEN BADGES RUDAÍ 23 An online method of validating informal learning and achievements in education and professional development. An online, self-directed course consisting of 23 modules relating to web 2.0 tools, social media, CPD and library advocacy. Step 1 Initially decide what you will badge and why you need to use a Digital Open Badge.1 Choose provider & pay fee. We chose the Open Badge Factory and were sponsored by the LAI.2 Create your badge: design the visuals & write the criteria behind it. This should state what the learner has to do to earn the badge and it must provide evidence of achievement. These are visuals of the 5 Digital Open Badges created for Rudaí 23 4 Advertise, publicise & make your Digital Open Badge available. 3 5 Learner accepts and receives badge, stores in Open Badge passport, and shares on their digital portfolio & on social media.
