IT ALL STARTED WITH A CONVERSATION
Our two founders each came from corporate backgrounds
before leaving promising young careers to work in the small
agency world: one specialized in digital advertising and the
other in social media.
During one of their frequent debates about the marketing
industry and its future they came to a realization: Advertising
and Social Media becomes dramatically more effective when
planned and executed together.
LIGHTBULB
With that, Junction was born. Junction is the convergence of
traditional advertising strategy and new media opportunities
into an agency that understands that Likes, Clicks and
Impressions are not business objectives, they are advertising
metrics. What really matters is whatever really matters to the
client’s business: Sales, sign-ups or leads.
We deliver a loop of awesome creative that prospective
customers see, engage with, and are reminded of at strategic
times in their buying cycles in order to deliver the right content
to the right people at the right times.
Our team now consists of design, copy, programming and
advertising staff that work alongside our clients to develop
campaigns that are as authentic to their brands as they are
effective.
8. CONNER GALWAY IS A
SOCIAL MEDIA GUY.
Conner’s been developing
social media campaigns
since before the invention
of Twitter. He’s worked
on projects ranging from
international retail, to local
events and national cause-
based efforts. Away from
the office, he’s never really
away from the social space—
he’s an avid speaker on all
things marketing, teaches
Online Strategy at Capilano
University and manages
his personal blog, Twitter,
Instagram, Pinterest, etc. What
really interests him about
social media are the numbers
that make it all work—he’s
been quoted in BC Business,
Business in Vancouver and
Entrepreneur.com on social
media data. He’s also the guy
who will be at a football game,
calculating the absolute reach
and prospective conversion
rate of a scoreboard ad with
a beer in hand, and call it “fun”.
RYAN WHYTE IS AN
ADVERTISING GUY.
Ryan is part data geek, part
creative and part strategist.
He’s worked in technology
marketing for the past 7
years and in a previous life
built Canada’s first Twitter
customer support team for a
major national telco. He’s an
optimizer at his core, even if
he can never seem to spell the
word right. Ryan is constantly
looking for new ways to do
things better, be it how to
tweak keyword bids to increase
campaign ROI for a client, or
what the best route to take on
his bike ride home is to save
a few precious seconds. Over
the past three years Ryan has
managed dozens of of online
advertising campaigns and
tens of thousands of dollars
in spend for Junction’s clients.
Ryan believes that you can
only improve what you can
measure and if you aren’t
measuring it you probably
shouldn’t be doing it.
