Colleen, I noticed you scheduled patients based on their periodontal classification and treatment needs. This allows you to be efficient with your time and maximize production each day. Great job
Designed for dentists who want to revitalize an under producing hygiene department, this course focuses on unearthing the 'hidden' non-surgical therapy cases that are sitting in your charts! Learn a practical protocol that can be easily implemented for a successful periodontal therapy program. Practical applications for locally-applied antimicrobials including Periochip, Arestin and Atridox will be discussed, as well risk assessment and treatment planning exercises. Don't miss this career-changing course! As Linda Miles says: "If your hygiene department is holding you back, make this the year you decide to fix it and reap the rewards for your patients, your team and you. A higher level of quality care and a better net income awaits."

9. Periodontal Therapy
Major DOWNFALL:
Treatment usually not completed in a timely fashion
(or at all!)
Patients numb for the procedure
Compromised clinical results with high probability of
relapse
Typical ‘prophy’ services across the country are
nothing more than “supervised neglect”
Many patients are left untreated due to under
diagnosis

Proprietary & Confidential Perio-Therapeutics & Beyond
Proprietary & Confidential Perio-Therapeutics & Beyond Today we are here to discuss the Management of Periodontitis with PerioChip. PerioChip, launched in 1998, is the most veteran of the available locally applied antimicrobial therapies. The goal of conventional treatment for periodontitis is to stop or at least slow down the progression of disease and tissue destruction. PerioChip has been proven effective in enhancing the benefits of SRP and maintaining and improving long-term periodontal health.
Proprietary & Confidential Perio-Therapeutics & Beyond PerioChip is simple to insert-it takes less than 30 seconds. Special tools or advanced skills are not needed to place PerioChip To place PerioChip, begin by isolating and drying the pocket. Grasp PerioChip with a non-serrated forcep so that the rounded end points away from the forcep. Insert it into the pocket, with the curved end first, to its maximum depth with out forcing it. Further maneuver PerioChip into position with the forceps or flat instrument, if necessary. The adherent nature of PerioChip keeps it in place for the duration of the treatment. No additional aids for retention are needed. Since PerioChip is bioabsorbable, no return visit for removal is necessary.
Proprietary & Confidential Perio-Therapeutics & Beyond Educator introduction and short bio Overview of program
Proprietary & Confidential Perio-Therapeutics & Beyond Arestin ™ is composed of 1 mg of minocycline and a unique microsphere technology. It is indicated as an adjunct to scaling and root planing (SRP) procedures for reduction of pocket depth in patients with adult periodontitis.
Proprietary & Confidential Perio-Therapeutics & Beyond Press down on the thumb ring to expel the powder, while gradually withdrawing the tip from the base of the pocket. After administering Arestin ™ , pull back on the thumb ring to remove the cartridge.
Proprietary & Confidential Perio-Therapeutics & Beyond Insert the tip of the cartridge subgingivally into the periodontal pocket. Be sure to place the tip at the base of the pocket.
