During orientation week, the student learned about procedures, policies, and HIPAA regulations. They toured the hospital and shadowed in different departments. The student completed rotation blogs discussing their experiences in the lab, blood bank, radiology, MICU, general surgery, and CICU. They learned about patient conditions, medical procedures, and career advice. The student reflected that Health Academy helped shape their interest in the medical field and narrow their career choices. They plan to study psychology and apply to medical school.
